Westholme, Dunnington was my first home. It belonged to the school, where my Father was headmaster until 1948, when we moved to Nafferton. I was christened at St Nicholas Church, and my maternal grandparents and uncle are buried in the churchyard. My au t and uncles farmed at Thorntree Hill , part of the Halifax estate, and I spent wonderful holidays on the farm..
My need for symmetry doesn't like where that church clock is! Also, from the A1079 you can catch the buses which go between Market Weighton and York as well! The 45A/46A used to go through the village for a short time, but they stopped after the journeys became too long and not many passengers got on/off in the village itself.
Hahaha! I actually remember thinking that to myself when I was stood outside it. Totally forgot to put that in the script. Didn't do a lot for my OCD, that's for sure :D
In my neck of the woods I see it pretty often, church clocks being placed more to the side of the tower to leave room for the belfry window. When it's done like that it doesn't bother me, but if it had been only slightly but noticably off-center it would definitely have irked me.

Well done on this video. Dunnington is a huge place. The parish church itself is deserving of an entire video on its own. good job! 👌
Thanks!
Wonderful to see such an in depth tour of Dunnington! A little disappointed there was no mention of the Common Drain or Hagg Wood.
Hi Andy...
A village with lots of amenities.
I find the churches are very interesting..
Like the figure of man with plough.
Thanks for vlog..
Good job as per, you earned your crust here, I imagine some of these places are tough to document
They are! There's one coming in York in a few weeks which was utterly bereft of anything documented
Loved this video! One very very minor critique: the fade between still images in the intro chat made me feel a little dizzy…
That's how I used to do intros but its since been replaced with a "drive in"

Who knew that chicory used to be such big business. Your voiceovers sound professional already, no need for a voiceover artist!
Ahh thank you! Personally I feel I still haven't *quite* nailed it, but I do think I can be overcritical sometimes
