I would be paralyzed having to play after Jimmy Rosenberg. Frank Vignola plays, and just nails it: energy, melody, even Bachian echoes. The all package. And staying true to the sinti spirit as well. Inspiring jam
This must be the most epic piece of improvisation ever recorded. The musical dexterity is unbelievable. For those on the path of being a great musician, this video shows you what's that actually like. Three guys with acoustic instruments, nothing more. I think everyone can come to appreciate this video, regardless of taste.
Boys, men... How wonderful you are! Watching this video we watch so... ... much work, struggle, respect, efforts, fight, ambitions, practically real life. in three minutes.
If you look carefully at when Frank is doing his solo, it appears to have been speeded up...his head is moving too unnaturally...as soon as I saw it I thought that it looked a tiny bit unnatural..
wonderful! Everyone is rooting for Jimmy- He is just fantastic. It's as if gypsy jazz is in his soul but it doesn't challenge him - it just comes to easy for him...sometimes being challenged by other things makes you thankful for what you have, like mountain climbing or sky diving, especially when your feet touch the flat ground.
man... joe ascione died in 2016, had ms since 2000. jimmy isnt really playing much these days, as far as i know. frank is still going strong though! glad there are videos...
@@mathiastollefsen I hate to disappoint but sorry, no drugs in my life dude and there was no coke or any drugs used for this session. Just pure inspiration.
@@frankvignolaeducation3315 i was just messing around... you guys were, and are awesome... i espescially like the duo with you and Jimmy when you play Besame Mucho; i play it almost every week.... i had no idea that song was so good:D (did you ever release this cover?) You think? I sure hope not, although he let himself go alot, becoming fat...God DAMN IT JIMMY!!! For fuck's sake, dont become another one of wasted talents!
Holy... Jimmy is the most underrated guitarist, I'd go as far as saying he's some kind of miracle. One of the best I've ever heard.
He not underrated, he had just some very bad ideas, hence is not so much around anymore. Hope he comes back.
He is called miracle kid of gipsy jazz... So he got same name as bireli lagrene💪
Joe Ascione here playing one of my favourite percussion instruments - the yellow pages
lol
The final level in percussion....
An old fashioned instrument...they don't print many of those anymore.
@@Ojoe2010 yes. Big Sid Catlett and Joe Ascione
I keep coming back to these legendary sessions. Jimmy is unreal, the lick he plays at 2:38 is filthy! He really is unmatched.

Its from a DVD called Frank Vignola's Gypsy Jazz Jam, 2004 New York if you still can find it for sale.

Question, If Jimmy wasn't here would this be even an event?
Marcus 251 it's not an event with jimmy there either...it's just some musicians practicing in a hotelroom.
Whenever I think I'm a good guitar player I watch this....and then I want to burn my guitar....
