- A young lady goes to her boyfriend's parent's home for a long weekend to meet them. Once she arrives she is greeted by the mother. However, within moments of her arrival, her boyfriend's father starts to say inappropriate things. After several instances of this, she speaks to her boyfriend who says, "she should be flattered."

Friend, run. You don't need a hysterical break up, and you don't need to say anything other than, "this won't work for me". And leave. But when you leave, do it cleanly. No more contact with your ex. Out is out. Defend your boundaries. Don't allow additional contact after you've left.
@James sounds like this is normal behavior for Dad & son. Hence the Dad helping the girlfriend with their luggage instead of the son giving them alone time. He knows his Dad she doesn't which sounds like he has done this before. Since I am unaware of whether the wife knows about her husband's devious actions I would purposely not allow myself to be alone with the Dad especially since the boyfriend didn't have my back. Try my best to hold my tongue if not get the 1st thing smoking out of there. Me personally I never stay anywhere that I'm made to feel uncomfortable. Hearing the son's response this is BUSINESS AS USUAL.

I married in to family and since divorced....the family was so superficial that that my husband and his mother agreed it was ok for HIS SISTER/HER DAUGHTER deserved to be cheated on by her husband because she "gained some weight." Get out girl! You're fine on your own!
After I divorced my ex, he would bring women to his parent's house. For some odd reason, he didn't marry again for twenty years.
I talked to a lady who broke up with him. Apparently, my ex MIL spent hours running me down. One of my biggest offenses was, I had the same curtains for fiveyears that my grandmother gave me.
So, apparenty, his family chased women away.
I talked to him ten years later. He said his family kept teling him how aweful I was but he thought I was great. But his family won out and he treated me like crap. Allright then. Glad we were divorced then.

Mother super nice hmm she knows the dog she’s married.
