I don't watch much TV anymore, but I can sure while away an evening learning neat new building and repair tricks! Very nice channel, and excellent rig.
Nice truck! Very clean good looking truck to be a late 90's model. Great utilization of space and very well organized. Very classy staying true to tradition everybody that knows knows that the welding rig on the site always has cold water.
Strictly toolboxes are a great supplier for toolboxes of all shapes and sizes, wish they would deliver to Australia . You have an awesome set up I'm working on setting up a similar rig, I'm more a mechanic than a welder though. Great setup
+Vaughan Leslie Mechanics have a LOT more tools than welders. My hat is off to you. Its a tough job, but somebody's got to do it. Thanks for the comment.
Really nice rig and well thought out. Boy, those old welders did a LOT of work. I remember hearing them purr like yours does.Runs like a Swiss watch. Thanks!!
Very nice rig. You've put a lot of thought into it. I'm glad you showed your first truck. That should be an important life lesson for our young people. Start with what you have and with success the other will come. Thanks for the video. Rick
Nice video tour of your work rig. I was particularly taken with your use of an umbrella and being able to mount it to your work crane was just the icing on the cake. If you work anywhere where the Sun can really beat down on you then the smart money says work in the shade or work with b.y.o. shade. You will appreciate the effort on hot days and also in years to come. Might pay to get a second umbrella just for the crane so you can keep shade on your truck. A lot of 4 x 4's here in Australia are running around with those pull out awnings fixed to their roof racks, might be worth investigating.
LR Disco It does the bad thing is there are to few and far between. Work is something we all had to do to survive. We live in a time now where work is something that is an option. You don't have to do it, nor learn, or grow up. I wish more people understood that.
Nice one buddy! Regards from Toronto Canada. Like you say, just cuz she's old don't mean she ain't able. I've got a Ford F 150 7700 that kicks butt. Got a nice rack set up with a removable front stand that lets me haul 24' steel no problem with up to a full ton up top! Keep it up bro, you got my respect 100%!
Id love to see how you set up your f150 im just getting started and have a 06 f150 and trying to figure out the best place to set my trailblazer i see alot of guys have them right against the cab wich makes it hard to check oil and hook leads up i guess my question is where to set it where its easiest on the truck
I've worked with a lot of rig welders in the oil patch and one pain in the ass for all of them is locking and unlocking all the doors before you start doing any work. One guy I worked with I suggested he put electric locks on them and a switch on/under the dashboard. The next time I saw him he called me over to his truck and showed me a new switch on the dash marked "ejector seat." I don't need to tell you what it did. Another good video. ty
Mate great rig, that welder sounded beautiful why would you need a trailblazer when you have that monster haha. The transformation from your old truck to your new one is quite inspiring and gives me something to hope for!!!! Thanks for uploading..
Man that rig is badass, I am going to have to learn to weld now...actually always to learn and need to as well...Love your carpentry vids .watched all of them then built a tool shed, will send you a link
Always enjoy your videos and seems like I always pick up a tip or two in each video. You've got that truck laid out perfectly for any job or job site you're on, and one can tell you put a lot of thought into putting it altogether. Thanks for the truck tour, it was very interesting and a very entertaining video brother.......
Dude thats a kick ass rig. I was pulling my machine around d with a 4x4 S-10 blazer made 10 grand in 9 months just doing odd jobs, you got to start somewhere.
Pretty nice rig. I would want my torch leads on the other side or at least mount them on a boat seat swivel with a pinning lock plate or tee in and mount another on the other welding side. Maybe the same with the air. Some removable overhead racks to haul material would also be nice to have.
Very nice set up and it's given me some ideas. Want to set one up someday, but making due until I get the grip together. Until then would like to get some of those reels. Aloha, and best wishes in all your endeavors.
+Michael Trent Totally agree. I would love to be able to get my everlast welders and gas generator onto a rig half as equipped as this. It has given me some ideas though.
+John Gibson Haha I've been working on a spring loaded cooler just for that. Well the truck used to stay inside of on the weather, but I don't have the room for it anymore. I don't cover either. My air compressor doesn't care, but my welder does. A little rain will make her not want to run.
Outstanding job on your service truck. I must confess that old red stole y heart. Are those trucks still around in your neck of the woods. Once again congratulations on a job well done.
+yellownp22541 Thank you. Glad to hear you like Red. Yes there is still a few around here. The only problem is most are so far gone that it would take a truck load of money to get them back on the road. The thing that saved my truck was my dad used to start at least once a month, and let it run. Most people don't know things go down when no one is around to care for them: Cars, Houses, and people too. Thanks for the comment.
that's an awesome setup everything is great but the crane took the cake! did you build it or bought anyway if you know how to build it teach us how please!
+brans The crane is Auto Crane brand www.google.com/search?q=auto+cranes&rls=com.microsoft:en-US:IE-Address&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0CD4QsARqFQoTCJi875PQ58cCFcSLDQodpbQCAg&biw=1920&bih=963#imgrc=BmPhVdAwhPuy_M%3A This one is about the same model just a lot newer.
Liberty Barker I bought the umbrella from Lowe’s it has held up really well. Maybe so I’ve got another service truck build in the making starting next year might get some good ideas from it.
just curious the autocrane is mounted on the storage shelf but I didn't see any extra support. kinda remember them good for 1.5 ton in lot less extended wouldn't that crush the box or did you beef that side up didn't see under. great setup like the welder n reels idea
+Alex Sanz The company that made the bed did reinforce the compartment that the crane sits on. (1/2" angle iron) You can see some of the clamps are attached to it. The company said that it was rated for 4000 LBS which is pretty good for a crane bed with no outriggers.
@@EEJester1586 That's the year I was born. I have a 92 F350 5 speed IDI cab and chassi I want to make a good welding truck with. Can't believe this vid is 5 years old. Subscribing to your channel.
Ha.. Here in Central Nebraska with the wind you be going down the road like Mary Poppins with that umbrella. I notice that you carry a lot of extension cords with ya . Do ya take a small portable gen with you ? You don't want that drop off rate to hurt your power hand stuff.. Thanks..........
+blueticecho Aye high winds don't work to well with the umbrella, but if the wind is blowing that hard then you may not need to shade. Most everything I work off the welder. The SA 200 is a DC welder so you can't run AC tools it will melt them.
I like the umbrella idea we had 1 inch square tube slot's around the bed to put 1 inch tube about 2 ,3 foot long that you could take on and off on our service trucks truck to hang a tarp off of the tube's and the equipment you was working on truck ,dozer whatever.
Is there any reason why the welder is facing the passenger side? I built my truck so it faces the driver side. But I only do construction and maintenance work. Is it a pipeline thing?
So I can change the oil in the welder. I wanted to face the welder the the driver side, but there isn't any room to get to the filter. Wasn't trying to be different it just worked out that way.
+e schneeds Repair work on farm equipment mostly. Broke off bolts, broke welds, fab work, loaders, trailers, ect... I've got a few videos on some of it.
I'll bet that setup makes you look forward to working. Not having to fight everything just getting to it:)
Nice rig anyone would be proud to own. Your set up to do some service work! And love your front weld pipe job! Thank the for sharing this with us sir!
Great setup, you call tell who is ready to work. Like the umbrella, sometimes you got to have your own shade, especially in the south.
Really nice setup you've got there. Very well thought out and organized. Thanks for the tour.
I don't watch much TV anymore, but I can sure while away an evening learning neat new building and repair tricks! Very nice channel, and excellent rig.
That little red GMC was getting ‘er done. I’d loved to of seen it roll up on site. Great Ford service truck as well, that tool box is something else!!
Nice truck! Very clean good looking truck to be a late 90's model. Great utilization of space and very well organized. Very classy staying true to tradition everybody that knows knows that the welding rig on the site always has cold water.

Your work truck is a super setup. I don't need a work truck. What I need is your '57. Keep up the good work and vids.

The one thing RUclips demonstrates is how hard working some people are. I just wish more people in the UK would follow their example.

+Philip B Thanks man, Aye I do too.

Awesome rig, you are an amazing young man with impressive knowledge of all manner of construction media.
+Michael Trent Totally agree. I would love to be able to get my everlast welders and gas generator onto a rig half as equipped as this. It has given me some ideas though.
I used my everlast welder with a generator for quite a while until I got my engine welder. It worked great.
How cool man nice setup I’m working on one to but I have to say love the red GMC how cool man
Love the videos down to earth and functional designs.
Great tour Thanks for posting
I like your channel I found it searching pipe mitres,, I then subscribed,, I too am a big GM truck fan
Awesome aye they are some sweet rides.
Very nice well thought out setup except there's no beer cooler, just wondering do you cover the welder or air comp or are the OK to be in the weather
+John Gibson Haha I've been working on a spring loaded cooler just for that. Well the truck used to stay inside of on the weather, but I don't have the room for it anymore. I don't cover either. My air compressor doesn't care, but my welder does. A little rain will make her not want to run.

where u find umbrella that can take the sun?
U GOT SUGGESTIONS FOR MY LAY OUT IN VANBODY
7.5FT WIDE X 17FT. LONG.X8FT HIGH.?

can you tell the name of the toolbox and the name of the crane. great looking rig
The toolbox Montezuma made in Montezuma Kansas. The crane is a autocrane.
Surprised to hear the word skookum because far as I know it`s from she Shinnacock tribal language. Good word.

where do you keep the beer at;) kick ass rig
+Vernon Whitehead Jr Haha I'm working on that. Thanks man.
Great video. My grandson would call you a working man. Thanks" Hotter than the Satins butt crack" That's a new one I'll use this summer.

I love the American pride !! Great

Is that just a regular umbrella
very nice set up!!!
do you have stabilizer crane ?
Love the old Jimmy.
Only thing you missing is some area work lights? LEDs would be the best choice

What kind of toolbox is in the back of the truck
Montezuma.
