Another interesting discussion. So glad you guys recognized the performances and value in BATTLE. (Love that you appreciate Roddy McDowall). I want to mention that there's a longer version of BATTLE on the Blu-ray that is essential, as it has the Alpha-Omega bomb from BENEATH in some scenes with the humans, thus indicating that these are the ancestors of the mutants in BENEATH (in BATTLE, one human who reveres the bomb is named Mendez... and in BENEATH the main mutant leader was MENDEZ XXVI). The bomb references in the longer version are not to be missed!
Also, I don't know if you saw the entire Unrated CONQUEST, but there's more over the top blood too, during the revolt.
In ESCAPE, the baby is named Milo, not Aldo. Yep, I have been a hardcore fan of the original series since the early 70s. Even saw all five together in the theater with the GO APE! promotion. I loathe the Burton film, but enjoy the newer series. I just did a video ranking my "favorites" of Least to Most.
Man I gotta get the set on blu ray. It was such a pleasure finally watching the OG series
