I’ve never seen a single Dracula adaptation until this movie. The closest I’ve seen is Kristy Swanson’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Maybe that’s why I loved this movie. I didn’t know the character’a archetypes, and I didn’t know exactly where the story would go. So I wasn’t disappointed that Eggers didn’t deviate from the typical script. The movie looks awesome. Orlok is menacing as hell. But yes, the bad ATJ was distractingly bad. It might’ve helped if Eggers had shown a bit of the people in the town suffering from the plague-some kind of view into how it was affecting people outside the core characters of the movie. But I thought it was really well executed. It’s at the bottom of my list of Eggers movies, too, but this is like 1(d) and The Witch is 1(a).
@@jayclendenin9448 I thought maybe we’d get a plague movie, but alas. I am glad people love it. More horror making money is always good. And again I feel I come across as super negative despite rating it a 7/10
