They literally showed she was wearing a bullet proof vest while Dewey was getting murdered. It's even in YOUR video. That's one sin for Cinemasins.
Even a vest wouldn't be effective against all that given where the bullets were.
@@FervAnimalLover I'm pretty sure it was shown that all of the shots hit the chest area, where the plate would be. A level 3 plate or better, honestly probably even a level 2 but I'll say level 3 and higher just to cover my ass, would easily stop the shots from Dewey's handgun leaving the wearer with some bruising at worst. I'd say getting shot that many times she's probably end up pretty winded, and it'd feel like she got punched pretty hard a bunch of times in the chest, but I mean she falls down for several minutes so I say it seems like they got it right in the movie.
Not sure what you're basing your opinion on, but you clearly don't know as much about ballistic plates as you think you do.
I came down here for this comment. Thank you!
Thank you... Just making sure someone else said this 👑
@thereal finalgirl remove all the other dumb nit pics. like ow showing your 10 year old a horror movie sin like really kids see alot worse on RUclips then any horror movie. Also there's alot of good to balance alot of the bad out.
When Dewey says "something about this is different" it's actually a nod to being the only one not directed by Wes craven
Damn. Not bad
One could say It was a double meaning. Dewey was also admitting that he was scared
Yeah and you can tell because the line should be “dude Billy Loomis’ daughter was just here!” But instead he keeps it vague “this one feels different” I guess because he can sense his death coming 🙄
@@joshualester5154 I swear being vague is the new "clever" when all it really means is that we have to Google it later. I didn't Google this pile of shit of a movie
I thought this was obvious 😅
Love how he nitpicks small stuff and then misses genuine flaws like the fact Syd and Gale aren't getting any medical attention at the end despite being stabbed and shot respectively
It's 2023 - Showing females in any weak way is not allowed. They are strong individual equals to men and we must obey what they want.

Then why did Tara get medical attention
She's also a female

@@gabrielpr96354 why are you projecting your shit onto him? He’s pointing out a very obvious fact
We just noticed the girl boss PC slammed down our throats before it was super obvious like with Barbie.
The fact your knee jerk response is to assume he’s unhealthy and angry is almost definitely projection. Be careful acting that way. Manipulators will immediately deduce and use it against you.
@@navier5078it isn’t deep. It’s not subtle at all. Hence the reason its so noticeable. They literally go out of their way twice to inform us Sid is protecting her Former Detective of a husband
It makes 0 sense considering they only met because he was obsessed with her and protecting her.
It always made me laugh that no e of the Ghostface ever seemed hurt after a fight, no wounds, no limping, no bruises- even with the bulletproof vest Amber would have been very sore, especially with being thrown around
Sore? A SWAT trained police officer would be very sore, Amber should have been severely inca-fucking-pacitated
They showed amber had bruises when she was in the room with Tara, even though that’s what the actual actor has, they still showed it
At the hospital-
I love how Cinemasins suggested 5cream, but if it had been called that he totally would have sinned it

it was the perfect movie to have more then 2 Ghostfaces and be called Scream5
@@MyNameIsNotSteve They were one movie too late I guess lol
The "For Wes" sin removal is honestly the best part of this video. He was missed in this movie for sure, but I felt like the new directors did a good job considering everything.
He will be missed
With all do respect. What do you mean by the directors did a good job considering everything? As in what specifically? This movie was a hot mess as far as making sense goes. Alot of it was random scenarios that lead to random death scenes with the plot being about rebelling against the internet.
We don't even know much about the victims. What made the first Scream special was that they weren't trying to be something they weren't. Scream 5 was a big pill to swallow
*Scary Movie 12*
Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett needed to write/direct SCREAM 5
nah. the movie was trash.
The silent sin removal "for Wes" was heartbreaking and filled with respect 👌
Respectful for a guy that has zero respect for this film. This CinemaSins guy sucks.
@azazelsvideos8298 Well, he's speaking for a lot of us and how we feel about this movie.
the fact that dewy didn’t do a head shot the first go around broke all scream rules they all knew “they always come back” meaning you gotta shoot the head i was sooo sad that was how dewy was killed
I was angry they killed Dewey in such an insulting way.
Getting killed by the wimpiest and lamest killer was an insult to the character and the fans.
"Also, Sam and Tara have a mom?! Where the fuck has she been?!" Made me laugh so hard because thats exactly what I was thinking every time they mentioned the mom.
Well, they mention that the mother was in another country on business.
I think its also ode to sids dad in the original. I was hoping they would find her tied up or something.
Her AA group had a fieldtrip in the UK obviously.
theyre like the peanuts gang, they dont have visible parents
like why didn’t the mother automatically come home after hearing this is it not a good enough reason to??
I do agree about the inhaler. It really bothered me that the third act hinges on it. Tara could have easily been like “You know what, I don’t need it right now, let’s just stop at a pharmacy in the next town” and then what would have Richie/Amber done.
To be fair, Richie probably would've found a stupid way of killing them anyway. Also Tara said she would need a PRESCRIPTION for it.
@@latayesha I dont know about you or where you live (so maybe its different) but typically if you have ongoing monthly prescription you dont have to actually visit a doctor and have them write a physical prescription each time. You can just phone your pharmacy that you need a refill.
@@marianne5055 you need the form however
Exactly...and if Sam did not go to Dewey, then these killers would not have “lured” the legacy characters to them as they try to take credit for in the movie.
@@latayesha in an emergency they can give you an inhaler without a script. do you think they are just going to let you die in front of them of an asthma attack? lol
I don’t know how to feel about the Billy hallucinations but it would’ve been cool if Sam was like “no, I’m not a killer! I’m not you this isn’t in my blood!” and then Ms. Loomis showed up next to him. Thought it was weird that they didn’t acknowledge that her grandmother was also a serial killer.
How could you not give a sin to Sam for ignoring Dewey telling her not to trust the love interest & just blindly trusts Richie 😫
I also thought it was a sin for Sidney to casually gloss over the fact that her murderous boyfriend had an illegitimate child that she somehow knew about years later??? Like, did Sid know in 2, 3, or 4? I think she was incredibly calm in learning that wild fact
Why WOULD she really care about that, clearly he fathered Sam before he got into a „real“ thing (aka had sex) with Sidney. Plus the guy was a murderer who killed her mom and basically all her friends. Clearly she, a long time ago, came to terms with the fact that she didn’t know him as well as she thought she did
I thought that was weird too. Literally no acknowledgement from Sidney about Billy having a KID?
@@iriswaldenburger2315 I don't know about that. Billy mentions in the first one that they were together for 2 years by the time Scream happened. Meaning they got together a year before Maureen died. So unless Billy fathered Sam when he was about 14-15 (which I guess isn't impossible but still) he cheated on Sidney with Sam's mom. Far from the worst thing he ever did but it still should have been acknowledged.
Fact review: what's the first Sid hears about it in THIS movie?
Anyone?
@@alm2187 No idea. She just blurts out "You're Billy's daughter" two seconds after she meets Sam.
I didn't even know they made a new Scream movie and I've seen all the entries in the franchise including the tv series. If there's one thing that never ceases to tickle me it's the "hospital is conveniently empty of all patients and staff for scary killy things to happen" trope that all movies use. Having worked at and been to a hospital I just want to know where lol
Hospitals vacant AND darkly lit. Never ever!!
This is the first scream movie without both the original writer and the original director . Completely new creators
Wait, there was a Scream TV series? When was that a thing and how long did it last?
@@jonbourgoin182 back in 2016? It was on MTV. the first season was actually good. But only the first season. If you have Netflix, they have all three seasons on there.
The hospital was probably on break or vacation at the time.
You missed the greatest sin of the film: How is Sam, who has never met Billy even once, seeing visions of her dad looking & sounding EXACTLY the way he did right before he died? Only Sidney and Gale have seen Billy in that outfit with those wounds.
Autopsy pictures eventually who knows use your imagination
Autopsy reports
Gale's footage, Stab, documentaries, crime scene photos. Definitely not impossible.
@@paulcarpenter7844
If it were from autopsy reports then he would have a bullet in his head.
This Billy's appearance was when he was still holding Sidney at gunpoint and Gale was knocked out.
Or his picture was in the paper after he died...maybe
Sam's "every decade or so" comment is actually pretty accurate. She was telling Richie how often killings happened in WOODSBORO, specifically. The attacks would have been 1996 and 2011 (15 yr gap) and now again in 2021 (10 years later).
what about the attacks in Scream 2 and 3?
@@mitjamackenzie1219 those took place on a college campus in Ohio and in Hollywood
@@TaradiseCity Oh yeah
@In Plain Sight I mean yes but I think the next scream is going to get released within the next three years.
I agree except the fact that Syd's mom Maureen Prescott was murdered a year before the first film.
The “for Wes” part actually made me tear up a bit. That was a nice touch
Did you know him?
@@user-us3be1fb3tYou don’t need to know someone to feel sympathy for them.
I'd love to see one of these Scream films where one of the killers gets shot or killed at the midpoint, because the hero actually keeps a weapon on them at all times, and it seriously screws up the murder plans.
Yea then the movie is over so that doesn't work
Fucks up the final act reveal but you could kill one then still make us wait until the end
The reveal is 3 killers, but the one dead in the middle is the patsy, 3rd act revealing 2 lead killers the whole time.
@@lochofmceo I mean kill one, give a 15 minutes of runtime but in film time like a month or so of peace and quiet then another murder happens. That'll leave about 30-45 minutes for a few more murders, find some red herrings, then boom. Reveal who the second killer is have a 10 min final "fight", yay good guys win. Last 5 min leaves the opening for the NEXT scream movie. Role credits. I mean it won't be the best movie but let's be real. The scream movies are on a decline now so bonus it'll follow the trend for the movies 😂😂
I agree, you'd figure with Sydney being attacked in 4 movies, she would be armed like Sarah Conner in T2
If you're wondering where Amber got the bulletproof vest it was from Judy's van, she left the door open and Amber took the vest, in the very next scene the trunk is wide open
Good catch
I applaud this episode for making me realize that Scream came out before Dawson's Creek even started. I could have sworn that I watched Dawson in high school. Really shocked I was watching it in college. Also really shocked that Scream has been a franchise now for 27 years but only 6 movies.
Two things!
9:52 min - Matthew Lillard (Stu) is playing Ghostface in the 'Stab 8' film footage with the machetes and flame thrower.
10:28 min - That scene of Dawsons Creek quickly shows Scott Foley. (Roman from Scream 3)
There are so many other easter eggs in this movie and voice-overs in scenes from Drew Barrymore, Henry Winkler, Jamie Kennedy, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Adam Brody among others!
Lillard just does the voice of GF in that scene. Not physically playing him. Some people might not be aware of that distinction.
GF sounded different in this movie and s4 then he did in the other 3

She absolutely did show the bulletproof vest to Dewey as he was dying.
The fact that Roman Bridger is in the Dawson Creek episode she’s watching feels like even more this couldn’t exist in this film if he’s not recognized as Scott.
I wonder if they feel comfortable on airing his Dawson's Creek appearence after his killing spree in 2000.
Thank you! I hoped someone else noticed that!
And she was watching the scream episode of DC
Holy SHIT I NEVER EVEN thought of that! and I actually used to watch that show!
Dewey tells them not to trust boyfriends because they always turn out to be the killers but the boyfriend has been the killer in only the first one at this point. Pretty sure in second, fourth, and maybe even the third the boyfriend was the red herring.
What the hell, Dewey?
He’s talking about the stab movies

Sorry Jeremy, I have to sin your sin. They do show the bulletproof vest. When Dewery is dying he grabs ghostface's Robe? Gown? Costume. And it shows the vest with the bullets embedded in it.
Was just about to comment this. They even show the clip with the vest and all the bullets sticking to it here in the Sins video haha. A sin well deserved!
I was about to comment this too lol
Bulletproof vests just stop penetration. They don’t stop the force, which often leads to major bruising, broken ribs, and even internal bleeding. You’re alive, but you’re not walking away unaffected
EXACTLY
@@justicedunham4088 he still claimed Amber wasn’t wearing a bulletproof vest which was false
12:42 The actress who plays Amber is listed at 5'2" (while David Arquette is 5'10"), the second killer, played by Jack Quaid is listed as 5'11"
In scream 1, Skeet is 6' and Mathew Lillard is 6'4"
Does no one ever noticed the huge height discrepancies? Especially Amber and Stu... 5'2" and 6'4" really stand out for anyone who survives an attack. I know height's are cheated, but it's has always bugged me when you see the killers standing next to other people throughout the movies and their heights are so obviously different.
Yes!!! Omg that was my biggest pet peeve about this movie. Ghostface was taller than Dewey in his death scene and that was suppose to be Amber?! Ain't no way 😤
sorry late but jack quid is 6 ,1 you can see his taller then the stunt man when ghostface walks behind mindy edit he was playing ghostface when he was behind mindy
Yep exactly what i thought!
honestly if heights bother you that much, this franchise is not for you. Neve said it herself, ghostface is it’s own character.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I was pissed off at Urban Legend for this where SPOILER the frizzy haired girl was the killer. I was like "come on, she would not be able to kill all those people. Girls are not that strong"
20:34
I think it’s safe to assume Amber and Richie pre-recorded the video since a few minutes later Tara rushes for the door and Ghostface is there. So unless there is A) a third unrevealed Ghostface or B) Amber & Tara are neighbors. Neighbors doesn’t work since they could have gone to Tara’s house for the inhaler instead of Amber’s if that was the case.
i honestly clapped at the end when jeremy decided to say no words, but instead without hesitation remove a sin for Wes. he will always be missed and the sin removal for him was beautiful.
THANK YOU. billy's daughter being named sam threw me into another dimension. I know the original scream threw references to halloween like "going down to the mackenzies'" and whatnot, but this one felt super obvious.

My dad took me to see Scream in theaters when I was 9 so the fact that it was a "sin" cracks me up. I had nightmares for a week though 🤣
Also I guess I was the only one who realized that Sam never told Richie she was going to the hospital. He just showed up. Which instantly gave it away for me.
A sin you missed: It’s said they’re killing characters related to the original Woodsboro characters. They kill Vince because he’s the son of Stu Macher’s sister. However, Randy’s sister, a character known since Scream 3, is left alone.
That's not really a sin. They just chose not to go after her.
@@Joker_JAK But WHY though? IMO, instead of introducing Vince and immediately killing him off, they could have had her be the first victim. Show her at the grocery store or something, and when she comes outside, they kill her in the parking lot. As stated, she was an established character, so her death would have had a much better impact than a one-off guy who barely had any screen-time.
That's not what was meant, though. It's meant that the people who ARE getting killed are related to previous victims, not every character related to previous victims had been killed.
@@FrizzKid05 And you’re not getting what I’m saying: She IS a relative of the OG crew. So, the writers could have written the movie differently. They could’ve killed off an established relative instead of just making up a new relative for the sole purpose of killing them off.
I didn't even think of that! But now that you've said it I'm hyper aware and annoyed. I never want her to die though. I love her, but an attack would be good.
"Because nobody takes the true fans seriously. They laugh at us. And why? Because we love something? We're just a fckng joke to them? How can fandom be toxic? It's about love! I watched the original Nightmare on Elm Street when I was 4 years old, by parents permission. It does happen. Texas Chainsaw (the 70s one) at 7 too.
Yeah, I'm sorry but the "Billy Loomis is my dad" twist is something straight out of fan fiction and it's honestly one of the weaker aspects of this movie.
And the ghost Billy thing is just silly.
It's not so bad when you accept that it's not a ghost.
I really hated that too. Now if Sam was Sidney and Billy's kid, that Sidney gave up for adoption before Scream 2, that might have been interesting. But to say it's some random woman and having Sidney just act like it was no big deal just rubbed me the wrong way.
The Billy ghost thing could have worked if he was haunting someone who actually knew him. Particularly if it was Sidney, and it happened when she was back in the Macher house for the first time since 1996.
@@LilyRose8959 Except that it wasn't a ghost and he wasn't "haunting" anyone. It was a manifestation of Sam's fear.
Billy’s not a ghost but it’s still silly to try and pass off a past his prime Skeet Ulrich off as his teenage self
@@llorona7847 Even though it worked perfectly? Hmm.
The connections to the franchise is ridiculous. Lmao. Reminds me of Final Destination 2. "I was a rookie cop at the airport explosion"... "My cousin's sister's boyfriend's stepdad's old neighbor was decapitated on some train tracks.."

@@Joker_JAK Whether she lifted him off the ground or not, she would have been in no shape whatsoever to kill him after being shot. Even with the bullet proof vest on. All it would have taken to defend against her is a simple punch. Bullet proof vests transfer a large amount of the impact force to the body. Given the location of some of those bullets, her ribs would have at least been bruised, if not fractured or broken. She would have been completely ineffective as a killer from that point on. Ok something I HAVE to point out, the villains motivation through most of these movies are usually Pettiness and a need for Fame. It's oddly one of the weaker motivations for villains but given that this takes place in the real world it's an oddly relatable crime motive. I'd say the only villain of this series who had a genuine motive above pettiness was Mrs Lumis and her want of revenge for the death of her son. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut again, she was also petty as well. After finding out her husband cheated on her she just straight up left and then ONLY came back years later after finding out her son became serial killer and was killed for his crimes which she took out on Sidney...... The more I think about it the villains of this series were quick to get a murder boner when therapy could have sufficed.
The biggest killer I understand is Jill in Scream 4. Her whole life she was known as being related to a survivor, and she wanted the fame that Sydney got from it so she went for it and was the closest one to succeeding. Also the most surprising killer reveal in my opinion
@@jamesmoyer8032 I will agree with that, they really subverted the expectation by making her cousin the killer. Jill's jealousy was so powerful she had no qualms killing her friends, family and anyone else just to get her 15 minutes of fame. And had she succeeded I have no doubt she would have kept on killing everytime the fame died down. I'm kinda at a loss as to whom the weakest of the ghost face killers are, i'm torn between Stu from Scream and Mickey from Scream 2. Stu was a bit cuckoo and was pretty much peer pressured into it. Mickey however was going to turn himself in should his plan be sucsessful and try to blame the movies for his psychosis which feels like it never would have held up in the grand scheme. Then again jill's partner was a pretty petty side villain too, only doing it to get attention cuz his dream girl didn't notice him.
@In Plain Sight if it had just stopped at 3 when syd killed her half brother it would have been a fitting end to the series and all the OG characters wouldn't have to be in any of the spin off movies which is what I personally consider 4 n 5
I agree with what you said however I believe that billy had some amount of motive. He killed Sidney’s mom and such because her sleeping with his dad caused his mom to leave.
Tbh id say the only true motive was jill roberts scream4 was the best by far
they really shouldve named Randys niece Jamie to pull the scene together
haters gonna hate. Gale's character development is so underrated and overlooked, from sensationalist for ratings and book sales at the start of the franchise to "those fuckers can die in anonymity" about the killers in Scream 5. Neve and Courteney deserved Oscar noms for at least a few of these films, but obviously horror is a rarely respected genre.
The reason Amber could unlock Tara's door was because she was Tara's best friend so makes sense she'd have her password to unlock her house. I caught that instantly & said "oh so Amber's ghostface in this one"...my ex argued with me till the end about that one until I got to say Told You So lol

Amber gave off serial killer vibes from the very beginning.
Honestly, I dismissed Amber as the second killer because it seemed to obvious.
I wonder if in the next one and they’re going to call attention to the fact that bulletproof vests actually do damage the user because all they really do is prevent penetration there’s still a thing called impact force.
Which causes bruising, cracked, fractured and broken bones etc.. depending on the extent of force of caliber & bullet type. So some people are going to have to show some skin eventually to clear their names.
Vests only really stop at the highest a 9mm bullet any higher and penetration happens
Let me save you some trouble: No. No they're not going to call attention to that.
@@CBrown but they really should though considering coming up with excuses and reasons for the injuries outside of being the killer/killers would show the tactical intelligence of them while playing into the satire sub genre of the series. I’m not asking for a blatant logistics nitpick of using one.
@@tshelby5212 tell me you know nothing about bulletproof vests without telling me you know nothing about bulletproof vests, level 4 vests can stop 3 rounds of AP 30-06.
Movie bullets are magic bullets
That sin removal at the end “For Wes” was peak. Got me a little choked up.
For 11:44 giving a sin for why would Ghostface ever turn off the voice changer while in costume, I can think of a good reason why. To save battery life in the device. If the killer just leaves the device turned on and if it dies eventually, they won’t be able to disguise their voice when making a phone call or talking to a victim in front of them. So only turning on the device when truly needed is a good strategy.
I'm sure someone else has mentioned this, but they did actually establish Amber wearing the bulletproof vest. The shot actually appears in this video at 13:05. Thanks for the sins!
Sin 82.👍🏿
came here to say this.
I was hoping someone else saw the BPV
Yeah, I haven't seen the movie, but I was like, didn't they just show a bullet-proof vest in this sins video? What are they talking about? But I was too lazy to go back and check.
I never saw that😲 thank you for pointing it out.
21:17 In universe actually, only Stab 1-3 are based on the events of the first 3 movies while 'Stab' 4-8 were completely made up. I think it's said in Scream 4 that after Stab 3 (which was originally the 'Return to Woodsboro' fictional movie in Scream 3, but it was changed after the actual murders because Gale wrote a book about it) Sidney threatened to sue if they kept using her and her experiences for the movies.
Which actually contradicts Wes saying that Judy was a character in one of the movies, because there should be no Stab movie based on the 2011 Remake Killings in Scream 4. She would HAVE to be just a random character in Stab 8 for this to be true, because Stab 7 was already OUT by the time of the killings in 2011, and Stab 8 was said to be the first new movie in the franchise in 10 years.
EDIT: According to the wiki, people have speculated that Stab 8 is a very dramatized and inaccurate retelling of the 2011 killings, because apparently Gale wrote a book about them with the exception of mentioning Jill, which is why it possibly features some of those survivors as characters. This is probably just speculation for a clear plot error in writing tbh.
I think you missed the part where they leave the lunch time murder scene at the sheriff's house to go to the hospital, and in the next scene, as they are shown driving to this LOCAL hospital, they somehow time traveled eight hours into the future, because it is night time. The sky is dark, and all the cars have their headlights on. From mid day, to around 8 PM during a drive that should take five minutes tops.
Dude yes! I thought I missed something ha I was like wtf?! It was like 4 in the afternoon!
Ok, as someone who has asthma, and continuously loses my inhaler, I totally understand Tara.
My biggest issue with this film is that it was way too easy to figure out Dewey was the one they were gonna kill off. If they really wanted to surprise us, Gale would've been the character to kill off.
None of them should have died. There's a reason why Wes Craven never did it. Sidney, Dewey and Gale are why people watch these movies. Killing one and sidelining the other two for most of the movie was incredibly stupid.
@@LilyRose8959 couldn't have said it better myself
I don't think they were trying to surprise people. I actually think they were preparing people for it without totally giving it away. It was clear from the trailer that Dewey was going to die.

Scream 5 was kinda a huge let down. Not the best acting, writing, or motives. No great chase scenes, the set at the end looked like a set, and lots of unbelievable circumstances (empty hospital, deputy Judy killed in broad daylight in a neighborhood, killer’s being a skinny little girl and yet lifting a grown man off the ground with knives, etc) that weren’t as present in the previous films.
Why do people keep saying Amber lifted Dewey? They need to rewatch that scene. His feet never leave the ground. He stands on his toes of his own accord. Also, what's wrong with GF killing in broad daylight? Since they WANTED all of the police to converge on that house, it was most likely intentional. They WANTED to be seen.
100% agree
17:33 Kenny Gales camera man was also killed at stu’s house
I enjoyed this movie for what it was. I don’t compare scream sequels to the original anymore and I enjoy them on their own.
I enjoy "scream 5" very much minus what they did to Dewey in this one Dewey survive 4 scream films to only die in "scream 5" I'll explain more when dead meat kill count does "scream 5 kill count" in Oct. 2022

My biggest sins was
1- You’re looking at that small, petite girl and telling me SHES ONE OF THE KILLERS. TALL BULKY KILLERS.
2- they were genuinely so annoying that I was hoping they’d die and finding out their motive made them more annoying
3- I KNOW RICHIE WAS A PSYCHO BUT THE FACT THEY HAD A CREEPY ONLINE RELATIONSHIP AND PLANNED THIS, AND IM AWARE AMBER IS WHAT 18. But that means their planning and relationship took place before she was 18. Which makes Richie EVEN WORSE
Women, even small ones, can be strong. One of the smallest girls in my high school broke the squatting record. Also, Amber took all of her victims by surprise. She didn't really need to overpower anyone.
@@Joker_JAK I don’t think it’s her strength in question. It’s her size and stature.
@@mrlitl06 But why? Even at her size, she could do the same things. If you're referring to her not matching the size of Ghostface it's because they use stunt people. People can hate it all they want, but, in the end, it doesn't matter. Stunt people play Ghostface and actors play the revealed killers. Sizes aren't always going to match up.

Even though it was super predictable on one of the killers, they did throw you off a lot. It was much more horror and not as much silliness like the other ones. So happy you covered this! Please do Halloween Kills! 🎃
I saw Scream at a sleepover with my cousins at my aunt’s house and it quickly became my favorite horror movie. I watched the sequels and loved them, and the 4th felt like a return to form since the first. The fifth, while I did enjoy it, felt like it could have been better. But at the end of the day was it cheesy? Yes. Riddled with clichés? Yes. Snappy dialogue? Yes. Over the top gory kills. Oh yeah.
Not the best entry in the franchise but certainly far from the worst.
I feel like I am the only one who thought this was one of the better Scream movies.
I think the thing most people are missing that this isn't a sequel its a requel. This isn't "another Scream movie" it is essentially re-inventing the Scream movie, but analyzing the meta of this generation the same way that the first one did for that 80s and 90s slasher generation.
The horror genre as a whole has become so meta, in that we are constantly analyzing and identifying tropes, more so than in any other genre. This movie has essentially gone down an extra layer and has satirized the meta of how we meta-analyze the movies. SO its not only playing on the tropes of the genre, but also on the tropes of the community around the genre.
Its exactly what the original Scream would have been if it was made today for the first time, essentially solidifying itself as one of the more definitive entries in the series, and setting itself up to have its own Sequels build off of it.
Personally, seeing what this is going to become, I wish they would have chosen a better cast.
I thought Tara's actress was phenomenal, but the performance for Sam for a little wooden, and I just didn't connect with her character, at least no where near the way you do with Neve Campbell in the original. For me at least, thats really going to hurt my enjoyment of the sequels that she'll inevitably be in.
2022 is the first Scream movie that treated its fanbase like the enemy. The killers throughout the saga have always been people who couldn't tell the difference between fantasy and reality, and wanted to apply the rules of their horror movies _to_ reality. Not this one. The murdering psychopath is a "toxic fan."
@@tomspiegel5322 that’s because they were making a parody of reboots. Just how the first movie was a parody of horror movies full of cliches. Fans tend to nitpick every little thing of reboots and the killers motivation was trying to recreate the first movie in the best form. So yeah they’re going to poke fun at the fans because it fits with the movies theme
@@shane7778 Star Wars, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Terminator, James Bond, Lord of the Rings...nearly every franchise these days needs to go out of its way to attack its own fanbase, and accuse us of being racist, homophobic, or whatever. If the Scream producers really just wanted to make a good movie, they should've read the room.
@@tomspiegel5322 I don’t think it treated fans of franchise as the enemy, just highlighted how toxic fan bases can get. There are plenty of people in fandoms who may not agree or like how their franchise is changing, but the ones you ever hear about are the rabid fans who send death threats, stalk actors or writers, and overall scream “YoUr’e RuINinG mY ChILdHoOd!!” So Scream took a swing at that because that’s what’s happening now. Being a huge fan I agree with pretty much this whole video but here's what I thought were the major things wrong with this movie. . 1. This whole new story about all these new people being related to the 1st movie cast that we never heard of in the past. 2. There was no character development. 3. There was no good chase scenes. 4. They didnt explain about Billy having a kid for example was he with her and Sid at the same time?? 5. Tara and Sam's mom is absent the WHOLE movie. 6. There was NO real motive for the killers. 7. That they're bringing Kirby back in the next Scream. If they were going to do that why skip a movie? It's like a giant plot hole. 8. I feel like this was their chance to do something new like an early killer reveal to the audience or have 2 killers on screen seen in the GF costume maybe even kill some1 together. Dont do a killer reveal, and let 1 escape at the end. And they did the same old stuff. I knew who both killers were like 5 mins in. 9. There were errors in the dialogue for example Sid saying Billy started all of this when it was Roman. 10. If your gonna bring a dead character back, a flashback was the way to go . . Not seeing him like Sam was. And lastly if your going to barely have Sid and Gale in the movie just cut them completely out of the movie and why the same movie title? Name it Scream Again or Screaming lol.
I’m pretty sure they said Mrs carpenter was on business trip or something. And for Kirby they were gonna have her in this but couldn’t due to her pulling from acting at the time for personal reasons
How could he not mention “Never answer the do-“ “I’m bored.” “WAIT-“
It’s the best part of the movie.
12:55 THANK YOU
Honestly Dewey being killed by ANYBODY whose only motive was to reboot a film franchise is downright insulting.
Yeah it was absolutely ridiculous. And now the issue with Neve not coming back because of the damn studio. The days of Scream being amazing are over.
@@nolaray1062 Really hope they come to their senses and pay the woman. If only Courtney from the original cast returns, I highly suspect the movie will bomb.
I know there was a sin for how long it took Neve to appear in this film, but I liked how they did it. Introduced new characters and had Neve/David/Courtney/Skeet back for nostalgia and I thought worked them into the plot pretty well.
With Dewey dead and Neve not returning, the only options is Courtney again sans a ghost appearance by a dead character. I'd enjoy a Stu cameo but it wouldn't be enough to get me to pay to see it in the theater and of the original cast, Gail is one of my least favorite characters. Nothing against Courtney, Gail just isn't my jam.
@@christophergargaro959 yeah I really have lost interest in seeing it. The new cast just didn’t do it for me, and even though I like Gale, without Sidney and Dewey I’m just not really into it.
Makes it even worse that if she isn’t in it, then we automatically know the movie they are making is NOT the movie they wanted to make, it was the movie they had to come up with to make sure they were filming on time.
I know there was the rumor going around that she secretly signed a deal so that she would appear in the movie as a surprise, but she said yesterday she wasn’t in it and there was no deal and I just don’t know if she would lie to her fans. Doesn’t really seem like the thing she would do.

I'm gonna agree it's still a sin, but mostly for making me have to think. And that's a sin on you too, Jeremy. *DING*

Similarly with gale, she was shot but was able to kill amber even after amber punched gale right where she was shot and at the end she didnt get any medical assistance she just sat with sydney(who was also stabbed) covered in a blanket WITH A BULLET INSIDE HER BODY

She gets tied up but not killed by 1 of the 2 GF Killers. Isn't killed in the 1st attack. Isn't killed in the 2nd attack, but also "saved" by the 2nd killer?
Has the most motive of all the characters to want Sam dead and probably other motive to want Gale, Sid, and Dewey dead.
Whose friend group is made up of a bunch of people who are somehow related to the OG Scream victims?
And never figured out here psycho sister who ruined her life by being born is the daughter of Billy Loomis (but her best friend knows?)
The story line is 18 year old Sam tells her mom she knows who her dad is aka Billy Loomis. Dad overhears and ends his 18 year old marraige? leaving his what ~12 year old daughter Tara... The mom then becomes the town Drunk and obviously at this point everyone in the town knows she screwed Billy and popped out Sam (but Tara doesn't...). Present Day mom is in AA but leaves her 17/18 daughter home alone and somehow that relationship isn't complete shit...
Come on all signs point at Tara being a Killer/mastermind.
The big reveal will be that this older guy (probably a college professor or some shit) is actually Tara's father John Carpenter and he is the 2nd GF killer.
The actor who played the killer in Scream 3 was also in the Dawsons Creek footage
The Dawson’s Creek episode also featured Scott Foley a.k.a. Roman Bridger, Scream 3 killer.
