The Knights of Ren are actually the members of Slipknot.
Lmao
Fury Fury I do not.
Slipknot is one of the greatest bands to see live.
+JΛYPhantoms TRUTH!
I think they're all lamb of god members LMAO
This video might shut the theories of the Knights of Ren & Snoke which are definitely NOT related to Ezra Bridger from Rebels up FOR GOOD....
I'm hoping Ezra and Kanan go into the unknown regions at the end of rebels to fight thrawn (or whatever) and return when the emperor is defeated to help Luke form the new jedi order.
or the Rogue One crew (if there were anymore...)
Euodias Lee I really hope they die. Its been important that luke is the last jedi
They don't have to die. Something could happen later where they do what Ahsoka did, and leave the Jedi beliefs. Maybe the Bendu shows them a new path and they become something like a Grey Jedi, only not called Jedi anymore. That would still allow Luke to be the last Jedi.
At most Kanan needs to die. Ezra isn't really a Jedi, but Kanan at least was a Padawan.
YES!! BUT DID THEY LIKE SAND?!
1993DJC ciz it's rough, coarse, andbit gets everywhere. Duh.
TheWhiteWolf genius
aa3 they adore sand.
i have an idiot friend who thinks the knights of ren are the resurrected rogue one team.
your idea makes sense
Christian Faux Not bad
Christian Faux he probably watched the film theorists
Christian Faux it's not idiot, cloning exists, and they could have impressed Vader cuz he hadn't seen impressive opponents in a while, they were better than Ezra and Kanan and one of them was a Jedi wannabe
oh my god there's more of you....
fuctard3d lol I dunno, can people clone stardust found on a battlefield? Actually I just supported the theory, but I believe the known knights of Ren other than Kylo are just bounty hunters who dress up in similar
SPOILER FROM THE LANDO COMIC
.
.
The sith mask on the Imperialis corrupted the alien fighting twins, probably it was a hint of what's to come.
Renato Nigro exactly what I was thinking of when watching this video
wanna buy some death sticks???
SUPERSTORM owen You don't want to sell death sticks to me.
SUPERSTORM owen 🖐you dont wanna sell death sticks
SUPERSTORM owen you want to go home and rethink your life
SUPERSTORM "owen no u want to go home and rethink ur life"
after saying that so do i
SUPERSTORM owen...Do u accept republik creditz bub?
This actually seems pretty likely and, knowing the Lucasfilm Story Group's tendency to set things up years before they happen, seems even more probable.
The power of masks is very interesting... One of the masks shown reminds me of Starkiller/Galen Marek as a Sith in The Force Unleashed...
Also, it makes me wonder about the Jedi Guardians shown in Rebels. They also wear masks, which could be to not have to make unique models, but also a symbol of channeling light energy as well
podracer35 the Acolytes of the beyond / Knights of Ren are based off Inquisitors, or very possibly Vader's new secret Inquisitors who have to find Luke and bring him, Starkiller also resembles the Inquisitors, as he is the advanced version of Inquisitors, he's actually an assassin, but only an extension to the Sith order, I think it was Starkiller's idea to form these Inquisitors, but Galen Marek isn't canon, why not a new Starkiller, Rebels made a parallel to the Force unleashed, a blind Jedi who survived order 66 trains a short haired dark side using Force sensitive who isn't much close to being a Jedi, and Ezra is Galen, how about Ezra dies at the end of season 3 by the hands of the super disappointed Maul who understands that Ezra can't be his apprentice and reveals the chopper base location to Thrawn, Maul dies not much later and Ezra gets cloned by Vader as a more loyal soldier who gets corrupted Starkiller, remains a secret to the Empire and acts as a double agent / spy on the Rebels cuz here the Fulcrum spies fail and Starkiller rises, Starkiller aka Ezra forms new Inquisitors who aren't yet ready to fight and need a lot more of training, the helicopter lightsabers are also out of production, so Inquisitors aren't ready yet, when Vader discovers Luke, he sends Ezra to capture Luke alive, however he doesn't send Ezra really often cuz Starkiller needs to be a secret, when Vader dies, Starkiller and his Inquisitors reveal themselves, recruit Vader fanatics, dark side historians, an Imperial ruling Council member and form the Acolytes if the Beyond, later on they get to recruit fallen students of Luke and Kylo Ren is one of them, they also recruit bounty hunters (the ones seen in Rey's Force vision being around Kylo Ren who wear Rogue One armor, but of course it's not the Rogue One characters, well possibly clones of them, but I doubt it) and then get recruited by another dark side fanatic called Snoke and become the Knights of Ren (Snoke is connected to Revan and makes a similar name to Revan, he views himself as Darth Revan and the Knights of Ren Revan's loyal Sith fanatics)
As much as I love TFU (and wish they'd make a similar game again), I'd prefer Rebels doesn't go the same route. They'll add their own twists, I'm sure.
podracer35 it's a big twist to "kill" Ezra, I even thought Sabine was killed by Gar Saxon, but Sabine's mom shot first, Greedo Saxon is rekt by female Han Solo, but I want the shock effect of a death like how Maul killed Satine, or Pre Viszla murdered a young girl, or the way Savage Opress murdered Adi Gallia
What if Kylo Ren put on one of their masks and became evil? That's why he gets so conflicted when he takes it off... Kind of stretching it but it could make sense.
L. Watson that actually isnt as much of a stretch as you think. It even appears that he maybe stronger when he has it on as well
Good theory. Ben smashed his mask in The Last Jedi tho. He was struggling real hard
You guys don't know star wars at all.
seems like it could work but would be dumb imo,
as you know kylo ren, is a very insecure conflicted person, his mask kind-of represents his fake personality/confidence trying to protray himself as evil.
like Saurons Ring
It seems like the masks are part of a whole trial by combat thing that is passed down to the one who defeats them, kind of like the sith. For example: If Star Wars Explained is my master then he wears the mask and I do not. When I feel I've overcome him in terms of skill, power and w/e else I can challenge him to a duel and if I win then I wear the mask. The masks seem to be a symbol of power and legacy passed only to the strongest.
RedTeamReview ohh i see. like leatherface from texas chainsaw massacre
Audible is a pain in the butt to cancel. Had to call them as the hidden cancel button doesn't exist.
Just a warning to all who are thinking about giving it a go.
lupo10 I just cancelled mine via Amazon I think. Certainly never had to call them. Perhaps it varies from country to country
Another warning, they advertise books that might not be avilable in your region, I.E I live in the UK, none of the new star wars audiobooks bar Phasma are avilable in the UK to download, but auidable still advertises them,
This could be true, especially because I dont see why they would bring up the Acolytes just to forget about them when the book is done. Its like when pablo talks about "Seeding"
Yeah, he really loves doing that.
what if the knights are membes of lukes jedi order that were friends with ben
this has been my thought
And now we know that they are . I'm only complaing do they have lightsabers
Recruit if remaining knights of Ren won't be using lightsabers I'm ok with that. If Knights of Ren would appear in episode 9 and all of them would have lightsabers and they would get a fight with Rey it would be a little bit stupid . I know that Rey is so powerful with the force and she trained with a stuff but one girl with no lightsaber fight training vs 7 trained dark side force users ? ( maybe Kylo would help her)
Artimiss Barker that’s a good one
Artimiss Barker but it says in the movie only one who turned on his master which is ben aka kylo
sounds like bionicle to me....
Evan The Golden Diamond oh yeah Bionicle!
Evan The Golden Diamond My older brother loved Bionicles! he collected them :)
Little Winter Flower mine too!
They were pretty popular LOL. He collected the black Bionicle, I think he was called Onua? And the version of him with armour was Onua Nuva or something like that. He had a lot of black and blue colored Bionicles.
He also had the Borax. Or was it Boracs? The ones that can roll up into a ball? Can't remember 😂
Little Winter Flower I think you were right the second time with the boraks but yeah my brother loved the red one, he had every one.
Thanks for not making clickbait titles. Love you, Alex
Just finished it and DAMN, also that mask in the interlude is definitely the Knight of Ren's mask that Tashu gave Kiza. OMG that ending!!!
i have always thought this! Great video and detailed info 👍
3:03 I love that Sith mask
Keep up the great work man
Fascinating, I can't wait to see more possible details about the Knights of Ren in the future.
You don't have to wait because you won't see any more of them.
Great informative vid. Thanks
So... the Acolytes of the beyond are Toa?
1065chris Bionicle? :) LOL I'm just remembering when my older brother collected them, the name Toa rings a bell but I can't remember which one he was or if the Toa were like a group of Bionicles .
Little Winter Flower -Toa was the term for the main heroes of Bionicle. They were a subspecies of Matoran (villagers). They generally fought in teams of 6.
Awesome video you did on Knight of Ren and it's very interesting video also your videos are really cool.
I love this. Vader became like a new God to the empire and the dark side. He wore the mask because he needed it, but followers look at him and the mask as one person, so they adopted masks to honor his legacy. Of course somehow these ancient masks and artifacts have been seeded by the dark side giving them visions and seducing them. The point you made about Kylo is perfect too. People asked, why did Kylo even wear a mask? Well according to the theory, he simply looked at Vader as not only a mentor but his grandfather. The mask serves its purpose as a symbolic artifact of the dark side. This is one of the best videos on the new Canon yet! Love it.
By far the most intriguing aspect of the New Trilogy...can't wait to see what Ryan Johnson does with these characters!
This is the most interesting theory about the knights I've heard in a while, sounds fairly probable that they could be setting this up, definitely the best theory I've heard so far.
I have the theory that maybe one has Revans' mask, like just a bigger hint that they will show Revan in cannon?
Cole Viloria Ooooo I don't know what the masks of the Knights looked like in the vision in Force Awakens, but if there is one member who has a Revan mask running around, I might squeal if it has an appearance in The Last Jedi. This mask thing is probably the best way to make Darth Revan canon.
Cole Viloria Kylo made a Revan resembling mask
They don't, they've already revealed the appearance art of every single knight.
TheAsj97 and they look like Vader fanboys in Starkiller resembling combat armor cuz it's actually Inquisitor outfits if u noticed, but these are probably not all of the Knights of Ren cuz they weren't enough to purge a Jedi order and some of them have the Force, those Knights of Ren hanging with Kylo were the bounty hunter team which was part of the Knights of Ren cuz I believe they have divisions within them
TheAsj97 there's no guaranty those were ALL of the Knights
I'm thinking of making the grenade face mask
Fun fact: that was originally a concept for Kylo Ren's mask. I prefer it to the final design, myself.
Like The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
I just finished the Aftermath series and I totally agree with your speculation!
ITS THE BACKSTREET BOYS GUYS .......GOSH!! DINT ENYONE SEE "THIS IS THE END"????
I like the idea of placing value in relics as it ties into the importance of the blue Skywalker lightsaber in ep7. I do think this is a bit derivative of how the Kings of Men were corrupted into becoming the Nazgul in Tolkien's legendarium by wearing the rings of power figured to them. Hopefully if this theory proves correct there will be something key to how it all works that makes it a little more unique.
Great video of course.
They’re the Jedi students that left with Kylo when he destroyed the Jedi temple after Luke tried to kill him.
At least SOME may be, yeah.
THis really dosen't work both since that didn't happen and fact that ben was movinhg away from jedi apprentices and seemed no one even luke could help him and luke not knowing that kylo didn't at all so io don't really see that because of those reasons
The main problem is we don't know how large the Knights of Ren are as the Acolytes of the Beyond seem to be a very large group whereas we've only seen that small group of Knights. However I agree with you and hope these Acolytes aren't just some kind of red herring
All these videos based around Empire's End, when I'm on Chapter 23 of Life Debt. I so want to watch these, but don't want to spoil myself!
Stephen Nesbit Just add them to your 'watch later' list.
Although, your comment was 6 months ago so you've probably got through them by now. 😂✌️
I kinda think the Knights of Ren are all Luke's old padawan's that followed Kylo.
Den Remy That was my thought as well the first time I watched The Force Awakens.
They could be. As for the masks going back to the Sith Empire which was started by a race called the Sith who were primarily users of the dark side and sought out relics, scroll, crystals and so on that they could use to increase their own powers. Buy either special force abilities that and object had that could increase or give a new force ability to its user. Or by performing an ancient ritual to increase their powers. Some of the Sith relics where masks that were made of special materials that would enhance its wearers ability or over them protection. Some masks even seemed to have stuff inscribed on them like the spell used from a Sith scroll
Hey +StarWarsExplained, have you ever though about doing videos on the abandoned Star Wars concepts? Like Lando being a clone in Empire, the Siege of Had Abbon in Jedi, or the tons of rejected Force Awakens art?
might make sense. "the beyond" could be the "signal" the emperor received. it all plays into the western fringes and we yet have not enough info about it.
This theory makes sense. How do the Whills fit in? They were included in Clone Wars and Rogue One where the 2 leads were former guards at the "temple of the Whills ".
Looks like I have a few fans!
Darth Vader LOL😂😂
Maybe the Knights of Ren should start producing some electronic music, judging by their obsession with masks it looks like might be the next Daft Punk.
Is this book actually on audible? I can only find the first Aftermath and a lot of legends books.
There is only so many times we can get a free book on audible you know, once to be exact.
'Masks can gather darkness', isn't that a reference to Darth Nihilus from Knights of the Old Republic 2? Maybe it's a stretch, but that's what the phrase made me think of.
Can't wait to see the Knights of Ren in the Last Jedi !!!
I don't think the Acolytes of the Beyond would have been covered this much in these books in so much detail if they weren't supposed to be precursors of the Knights of Ren.
How are the Aftermath audiobooks? I'm currently listening to Tarkin which is quite well done, listened to heir to the jedi before that but it was a bit goofy.
Awesome vid!! :D
just wondering,
Could you maybe do a video about why certain non-force using characters could reisist force mind tricks and such?? For example, what traits do Jabba and a space pirate (I forget his name but I think hes from clone wars animated) have that allowed them to bypass force mind attempts? Did they have to forgo any training? Are they just "that smart" so to speak? Are there species that are naturally resistant to the force? Is it just a plot thing?
What other non-force using characters can resist force mind tricks?
I think id make for a pretty cool vid, thanks for reading I know its a long list :p
thanks for the vid!!:)
I cant find any Aftermath books on Audible! someone help please
hello ive been watching star wars explained for a while now I like all the videos my favorite one are on the vehicals and the legends time line is it at all possible to do one on the the republic gun ship or laat
I've had an idea for the origins for the Knights of Ren. Should I do a video on it?
Tried to use the audible credit to purchase one of the aftermath books but they're not available in the U.K. right now
Musta Rahman Then wait. In the meantime, I suggest you drink your tea.
Odyssey2001 I'm just letting my fellow Brits know, I suggest you keep your bad jokes to yourself.
I can't be the only one who thinks that Sabine's clan in Rebels being named "Wren" is a coincidence, can I?
Oh wow, never thought of that! Also, in Solo, Dryden Vos has a Mandalorian outfit on display, and its weapon is the same exact weapon as one of the knights of ren (The axe with a long pole). So that links them directly to mandalorians, and maybe Sabine's clan (?)
Very easily explained. TKoR are jedi trainees who defected alongside Kylo Ren. Also the trainees were not as experienced or as powerful as Ren.
This video came out a year ago. It appears the Knights of Ren were not in episode 8 and were mentioned in passing when Luke retold the story of how Ben became Kylo.
It was a huge missed opportunity to develop them as the main villains or henchmen of Snoke in episode 8 like a Bobba Fett. They could have been in the final fight against Rey and/or Luke, but instead they chose to have Kylo take Snoke out in the middle chapter which completes his arch one film too early.
Killing Snoke to save Rey should have been in episode 9 after he finally decided to turn back to the good side. Perhaps in episode 8, Finn could have been a casuality of the Knights of Ren, while Rey and Luke kill off most of its members.
Also Rey appeared to be at the the Jedi temple massacre, which would suggest that Kylo knew her from before. But that was discarded.
It felt all of these potentially interesting plots had been set up, but they were discarded by Johnson in favor of his own ideas which was to do a movie that was not like Star Wars. It was like an anti Star Wars film which became a bit of a parody of a Star Wars film.
The film did what he set out to do, but most fans wanted to see a Star Wars film, and not a left wing film making fun of Star Wars. It isn't SNL for crying out loud.
Could you do a video on the Super Tactical Droids, like Kalani and Kraken?
What is the picture at 1:58 from?
The Knights of Friends
I want to read the Empire's End book, do I need to read the other aftermath first, or can I jump right in
I think the Knights of Ren and Acolytes of the Beyond are separate groups, but they may be connected in some way. Also, wouldn't it be cool if the First Order used the Eclipse in The Last Jedi?
Nobody expects the Knights of Ren! Their chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear. And nice red uniforms.
lol
not sure how keen I am on that mask power business
I think the knights of Ren might be the handful of students kylo ren took from Luke's Jedi temple after it was destroyed. Only if they are force sensitive though
if the Acolytes have no force powers, I suspect Luke killed all of them except Ben; this could explain why he seems to have his own regrets that drive him to the dark side - not necessarily Snoke's doing, but he's definitely twisting that knife to control Kylo.
Dude, I think Episode 7's script stating that Kylo Ren was made weaker by the Dark Side shows that he's nothing special.
I can’t wait for the sequel, “The Jesters of Stimpy, Strike back”
why create outrage kinda of cringe
Seems like a lot of this was undone as they appeared before this in the comics now. I really like this idea that they were the acolytes mentioned here, I also like the Ren origin, but I prefer what happened here.
What I want to know is if Kylo Ren is the strongest of the group then how the hell did they destroy the new jedi order Luke rebuilt???¿¿¿¿
can't find on Audible. please help!!!😭😭😭
They're obviously the same kids that he took from Luke, Luke said he took everyone he didnt kill.
+Star Wars Explained Doesn't sound that bad and might make sense that they could become the Knights of Ren (they also have the same amount of members, 6),
but considering their age, they would be around 60+ if most of them would be let's say 30 years old, at the time of the Battle of Endor. As TFA takes place 34 ABY these guys would be really old. Would be kinda weird to call some group of Grandpas "Knights", especially if it comes to fighting. Maybe The Knights of Ren aren't the same people as the Acolytes, maybe the Acolytes were some sort of predecessors to the Knights of Ren, dunno. Hopefully we'll find out more in TLJ.
Is there any form of content that explains how Luke became so much more skilled and mature in the six months between Ep 5 and 6?
TheBurgerHut7 he was training in those years
Shadows of the Empire, kinda. But even then, it's mostly handwaved.
griffinandjack productionz no shit but I think we should have more details about his training in that time
I really think the lack of content surrounding Luke will come to an end after Episode Eight. I get the feeling Luke is going to explain a lot to us and then they'll be a glut of new material focusing on him. it makes sense that they would hold back on Luke material until after we actually get to meet the old Jedi in person.
I think that if Disney decided to make that tie in with the books and make the acolytes of the beyond become the nights of ren that would be awesome, as it would give many super fans real incentive into reading the books. Sadly, I feel that they probably won't just because they know there are also a lot of people who see Star Wars who have only a base knowledge of the universe through the movies and nothing else.
The masks remind me of lego's Bionicle... because I remember sometimes reading as a child the masks had powers.
I prefer to think they were a faction that joined the First Order and were brought together by Snoke for Kylo to lead. Kylo didn't form them, he was simply appointed their leader by Snoke or by gaining their approval. Knights serve a monarch(Snoke), Kylo being Snoke's apprentice leads the Knights of Ren.
Answer: They were offshoots of The Knights of Stimpy.
Pretty sure theyre Ben's LARPing crew
In the Last Jedi Luke says that when Kylo destroyed the temple he took some of the padawans with him. These could be the Knights of Ren and the lightsaber on one of them that looks like Vader's could be reconstructed to model it.
its not those padawns died by kylo's hand and i bet you thats what luke thought but thats trur. maybe of darth vader but then like it seems like thatsv the only connection
An amazing lightsaber would be two handles connected by a lightsaber laser between the two handle and like a regular laser with two poking out
You probably won't see this comment, but I have a theory as to what Starkiller Base's origins might be...
I was digging around Wookieepedia and noticed that, in old canon, a series of Death Stars was made and that a third Death Star was taken into hiding after the destruction of the Death Star II. Could Disney be taking this old canon story and changing the name "Death Star III" to "Starkiller Base"? It makes sense that this would be possible, as we saw the database in Rogue One that clearly had more plans than just that single Death Star one.
Makes sense, from a certain point of view.
They werent even in the new fuckin movie
Alex, please help me clarify. Did Ben Solo join the pre-existing Knights of Ren, or did Ben form the Knights of Ren? Thanks!
2:30 The second has the same psition as Jacob from Assassin's Creed.
Do you think we'll get a book entirely devoted to The Knights of Ren or Acolytes of the Beyond at some point?
Can't believe they didn't include Stimpy as part of the Knights of Ren...
what was your reactions to hk47 is going to be in star wars galaxys of heroes
I was wondering if there was anyone that could tell me if there is a book that follows the aftermath series and tells about ben solo and why luke left just before the force awakens
and so yoda just before he died in the swamp said to luke..."if I die the last jedi you will be "
Hey Star Wars explained, where'd you find that Kylo Ren concept art and the art of the ancient armoured sith warrior?
Sounds plausible, but was vaders mask destroyed during the destruction of starkiller base, or was it on the one first order ship?
They are probably all people that shopped at Space Hot-Topic often.
So Kylo may not have 'made' his helmet, but was 'gifted' it instead....awesome!
I still think the knights of Ren is a smaller section of the acolytes of the beyond. And snoke is the leader of all the groups
I wonder if there's a +2 Lightsaber of healing among those sith artifacts....
more news...the last jedi is getting reshoots in scotland and ireland this march...something about editing carrie fisher in or out
I just found out the the Galactic Empire in the legends timeline had The Imperial Knights (or Knights of The Empire). Are the Knights of Ren based on them?
I know you don't need to be a force user to wield a lightsaber. But I was really hoping that allowed if their weapons would be different variations of lightsabers. The guy with the stick would have a pike and that guy in the back with the Final fantasy sword would have a giant weird one.
In retrospect it could be a gun but I hope it's a giant lightsaber cleaver.
Sssmokin it's party time 💫
