Last Flight For This Boeing 747! Smiling Boeing 747-200 Retirement Flight

- Here it is. One of the last Boeing 747-200 classic which was based in Europe. 4X-ICO was operating the last flight for its operator CAL - Cargo Airlines from Liege to Mojave, via New York JFK. Mojave is a famous airplane boneyard and there it will be scrapped. The Boeing 747-200 is becoming very rare since the new version of the Boeing 747, the B747-8F is on the market. It` s way more fuel efficient and airlines are able to fly more economical. CAL replaced both Boeing 747-200 (4X-ICO and 4X-ICM) with more modern Boeing 747-400s (4X-ICA and 4X-ICB). The Boeing 747 in the video had a very long life. It was delivered to Lufthansa Cargo in 1985. Here you have the full history of this plane:
1985-1994: Lufthansa Cargo as D-ABZB
1994-1997: Atlas Air Cargo as TF-ARP
1997-2004: Lufthansa Cargo as D-ABZB
2004-2007: Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ARP
2007-2008: Tesis Aviation as VP-BXD (Airline from Russia)
2008-2010: Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ARP
2010-2014: CAL Cargo Airlines as 4X-ICO
October 2014: Mojave
That` s it, I hope you liked it and please don` t forget to rate. You can follow me here:

I was the captain on this flight. Great vid'. Thanks for sharing...
Captain Boeing Yeah, I know. I saw your Landing video in Mojave. Now have fun flying 4X-ICA and ICB.
Ata me israel ?
Well Done! Hate to see planes reach the end of their useful lives. How many hours had she accumulated? Cycles? As a freighter I would imagine quite a lot!
As a kiddo still, my uncle way back when gave me a poster of Learjet 45-002, the second Lear 45 produced, an experimental bird. As I grew and went through school to work on cars, I would have never guessed that I would one day meet the poster bird! I now work for Bombardier/Learjet and released 45-002 for its last flights and removed her TFE731's. I highly doubt it will ever leave the ground again under its own power. I think it will live on in a museum or school someday. We still maintain the 1st Learjet 40 as a convert to 45/75 as a chase plane. Still some heritage and classic Lear aluminum smoking holes through the clouds!
Great job flying captain! The plane was getting old anyway. RIP plane. Hope your fuselage gets recycled nicely into some pop cans or something. :(
Captain Boeing I wrote a huge story about your plane.
So. ..after flying the 747 400 for some time... I really miss the good old 747 200. .. Like we all miss the 80th music... No computers... Just a good old music .. Just a Good old airplanes... Aren't we???
Captain Boeing I can understand you. I have to say that I realy miss the sound of the classic B747-200`s aswell. The only thing I like about your new 747-400`s is the green paint sheme of 4X-ICA.But it doesn` t compensate the loss of the beautiful 747-200`s. I hope you still enjoy your job and have great time on the 747-400`s.
You can still fly the classic on XP12 thanks to Felis :D.. I love this plane .. Miss the old birds too :( .. So much variation back then.
Such a beauty even in all white. Great video thanks for sharing.
Sure is

Airforceproud95 Blog it.

Airforceproud95 ur videos are SHIT ur a freaking BITCH GET A LIFE AND MORE SUBSCRIBERS ASSHOLE
That sound is incredible.
Agreed
I love the sound of those old engines. Great filming! Goodbye beautiful 747-200! 😢
😢🙏 perdóname
Relax crybaby! There's a 747-8! 😎
😢
i'm a jumbo jet
and this make me sad
More then 101.000 flight hours. More then 18,000 landing. Loved flying this aircraft ... Last landing was at Mojave desert KMHV...
wow....18000 landings is LEGEND!!! What a beautiful bird this was...
You’re so sweet and sentimental. Last flight to surrender aircraft must have been difficult. You are a great pilot and your memories can help you with the pain of the surrender of this aircraft.
Absolutely love that sound! Phenomenal as always Cargospotter, incredible camera work.
dude8472productions Thanks buddy !!
+Cargospotter this 747-400 is Cargolux
That sound is incredible! Especially after 0:48, which I love that sound!
I love the sound of those old engines!
What a beautiful engine sound!!! Oh my my, the way she screams as she begins her takeoff roll is simply GLORIOUS!! 😃
The sound of those REAL Jets :-) much more satisfying than the new type
It always hurts a little bit to see an old bird take off for its final journey
I wish the engines still sounded like this on today's planes
Cannot be, the world requires quiet engines on the outside and the interior inside.
+Leonard Whitesmith Winterford Yeah I know.... They sound quiet and boring today : (
Totally agree with you!!!!!!
Too bad noise regulations exist
There should be some special ceremony for last flight after so many years of service ....Great catch and wow what a super roar as it took off ..
So sad to see this magnificent birds fly for the last time.
Will miss the power of those four engines making her climb like a homesick angel.
Btw: The shown B747-200 4X-ICO was bought by a company called "Dow Aero Logistics" a few weeks ago. After standing in the desert for almost 5 years it will probably become a new job in the sky.
Cargospotter any updates on the 747 right now?
Sorry She is being parted out and is supporting other aircraft that are still flying
@@williamdowding5088 so they are removing parts from the plane?
Porsche Carrera GT
Yes we removed avionics landing gear flaps engines
@@williamdowding5088 sad to see this plane retire, ;(
I work in the EVT factory where the queen is born and it's a humble feeling to stand next to one, my grandfather worked on this very one I am sure......gone but not forgotten thanks for the vid
What a beauty the 747-200 is. So sad seeing her going into retirement and getting scrapped :(. The sound is amazing and brings back many memories
2:09 RIP 747 it will be missed but not forgotten
I returned to the mainland from Honolulu Int'l Airport on a 747. GREAT aircraft, and smoooooth ride! Why was it replaced?!
Bc there getting old
Is it normal if this video makes you sad? 😥✈️
It's alright we plane lovers feel emotions for planes
😦This is actually making me emotional.
Yes, because after its success in February 9,1969(N7470) the classics are on retiring status because more efficient and cleaner twin engines with wider body and longer range are killing the sales of the quadrupled engined double decked airliners with the same range.
Yeah it's so sad
Yes
I’m going to miss the 747 :(. She was the mother of the skies for the planes of today. Glad I had the opportunity to fly on one
Tolles Video!Danke fürs Teilen!Daumen hoch wie immer!Gruss inselvideo!
I love the 747-200's wingtips..
Lovely planes.
They have no wingtips actually only the Boeing 747-400 have it
And the Boeing 747-8I
Leonard Whitesmith Winterford
Yeah, I mistook the HF antenna for wingtips.
Good ol' D-ABZB... I had memorable flights in her and to be honest? This CF6-50 engine sound is the nicest one I've ever heard.
When you're in the cockpit and pass the throttles beyond 60% N1, a BIG deep bellow just rises like a wild animal screaming... I still have goosebumps listening to this
Its unfortunate that the -200 is being retired.
love the sounds of those engines
Yes the sound is really excellent in this clip of her spoolup. Seems like she had a great life - time to rest now. Get some sun, and watch her friends pass by above!
good ol' 200! nice and LOUD!
R3essssssssssssssssssssaaaaasssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I saw this at JFK!!!! Such a sad thing to retire this. It has been flying strong for decades.
He trabajado durante 30 años con éstas máquinas, es imposible olvidarles. Buen vídeo.
One of the most impressive things to see was a 747 Cargo plane. My father brought me to the Pan Am hangers at JFK. I was 15 yrs old and will never forget it. Just the size was crazy. So glad I got to see that. Sad to see what happens to these Jets.
They are always smiling no matter what situation there in planes are the best
She's was a beauty! I can only image the miles and cycles she had!
I hope it isn't scrapped. I too love the sound ! Sounds like a real a plane, that I have come to expect !
Its those old Pratt and Whitney engines...
The plane will always smile at us
The "Queen" of the skies. Beautiful.
Sad to see the queen of the skies go into retirement. Cool your jets old girl, you have earned the rest.
Bye bye beautiful smiling 747 :)
Love this Aircraft...The old Cockpit without any screens the old engines the sound and the wings without the modern winglets...very sad
just old analogue dials and gauges....I went aboard the Number one prototype 747 RA001 which now languishes at the Boeing Flight Museum having having a nice restoration with all new paint...She will be preserved for the ages I am sure...Please read my notes above... ...
@@lynnclaughton6581 In addition to the analog dials and gauges was the Flight Engineers position.
Still a beautiful plane!
Hi Captain Boeing,
and I've been working on this A/C as one of the maintenance mechanics (ERI - Electric, Radio, Instruments) at the maintenance hangar 5 at FRA airport, have seen any and all sections, even those, that are not so very much comfortable like that seat you've used. ;) We've kept this bird flying ... safely... with our hearts and souls.
Awesome video mate! Great catch! Liked!
The B747-200 looks like a cute birdie
Before, this plane passed over my home and I loved his sound.
I was the 1000th like! Love the queen of the skies and the era of impressive engine sounds.
Hi! Captain, that was a great video, great plane, a great flight. And in my opinion (layman's) probably the most significant plane in modern times. So much character in it. The camera work is super. Many thanks for sharing it.
It's sad to just see her go like if you agree
Oh baby what a beautiful aircraft.
Good old engine sounds... Though i'll never EVER hear it in person cause I wasn't born before the 2000s. I will miss the B747.
Still an awesome aircraft, thanks for sharing!!
Beautifull song always...
Great work capturing this video, it will go into history. Big thanks for posting and for your hard work. Huge Like!!!
Great! Good times, those airplanes !
Sorry to see her go, but have to keep up with progress. THANK YOU
747-200 - Classic!!!!!!!!!!
Hello! I'm from Brazil and I've seen one of these landing at Guarulhos airport passed in front of my house
I really love this airplane and the sound is like md-11 but 747-8 is my most favorite airplane
The sound of engine is like dc-10 on idle
Good bye my brother
The last flight never end here
Upper deck on the 747 200 was the best
Just listen to those amazing engines! So sad to see the old girl go!
Fantastic!
huge and legendary aircraft .
A great video many thanks for this.
Awesome video! I loved seeing this bird! Came once to YYZ but I couldn't make it out, had a very good operational history, loved it's name: Cargo Air Lines or Chavei Avir Lemitanim. Liked a ton :D
Loosing a plane is like Loosing a love one for Pilots
Even the engine noise was ear piercing coming through the laptop speakers.
I will miss the 747-200
Do not worry Kalitta's B742 will surely be flying for decades.
Oh! The sound of the engines 💦😍
the 747s are the classics.
Yes they sure are...They rise beautifully among the crowd..
Very true, and especially the older ones like the - 200 and the -300
Majestic
We had a couple white whales as well. You always know with the small N numbers and inconspicuous. We weren't going to the debutante ball were Delta Or KLM was sailing to. All though I always love dropping in on ways love stopping in on AMD for a rest and a beer although I like Belgium too when coming back from the sand.😎
That nose-cargo door really makes the plane look like it's smiling.
I like the 747-200
I will also miss the going full power sound.😔😥😢😭😭😭😭
Sounds a lot like a DC10 but much louder!
Smile Boeing
Those engine's sweet
Charming, to the last...
Sad to ground such a beautiful plane.
Its funny how small the old 747s look compared to newer models.
Nice One :-)
Even on it´s last flight, every part of this retired aircraft is airworthy, and smiling she heads to her graveyard. Just as the last day of any of us. Hopefully, we will live our last day as a lifeworthy one...
This should't be legal... Find a cheaper alternative but shape it like a 74. That figure is iconic.
I heard that Turbine Sound Studios recorded this 747 before it was scrapped.
Great engine sound close up takeoff smiling retirement flight old Boeing jumbo jet
Another sad day for us fans of the quads.....
You do really great videos.
Who's engines are in this one; it sounds like a C-5 taking off.
Those Rolls-Royce engines are sounding good
4X-ICO has GE CF6s.
@@aviationlba747 oh ik now
I understand the financial angle for retiring a bird like this, but it still seems sad. More life was left in her for sure.
Well Done Amigo! :-)
Nice.....
*I Miss the Sound* ...
*Daniel* from BR.
R.I.P that Boeing 747
Bring back the 747s
What camera are you using here?
Veterano Jato Ótimo Vídeo
Doesn't look like they sent it out empty.
It wasn't, it went via JFK where it offloaded some cargo before continuing to Mojave. (I work for the airline)
I thought it was weighted down because I said "you can pull her up any time now Captain!" My wife's father, Mr Edwin Gessele was a 40 Veteran of the Boeing Co. He started in 1948 just out of the Navy and began 40 years in Boeing Fight Test in Seattle...He had the honor of being assigned Crew chief on the #1 747 RA001 AKA queen of the Skies for over 20 years which we all know was the 747-100. It now sits at the Flight Museum in Seattle. A 747 200 broke at least one world record that lasted for while until later broken. Mr Jack Waddell, who piloted the first 747 was at the controls and flew an Air Canada 747-200 non stop from Seattle to Arman Jordan in record time and distance on the start of the Middle East sales demonstration Tour..That was around 1975 or so. Boeing had to use an airplane that did not have USA markings due to the extreme tensions in the Middle East at that time, so the MAPLE LEAF of the Air Canada 747 was neutral and reduced that threat. I too felt a degree of sadness to learn this 747-200 was on its last flight....I also enjoyed reading all the heart felt comments about this wonderful old "WORLD TRAVELER" being retired to the desert! and I have to admit I too chocked up a bit after prof reading this back. My wife's father spoke of the many amazing world tours he served as Crew Chief on. In particular was his experiences with the Number one 747 that was used for many test programs. His experiences with the 747 and other Boeing airplanes always did and still does intrigued me. His last World Sales Demonstration tour was on the Boeing 767 world tour after which he retired....He recently passed away at age 92 going on 93...He was such an amazing and wonderful man . In memory of Mr Edwin Gessele and so many fine old Veterans of Boeing and the people who fly these great birds many of which are mostly all forgotten today, may I borrow these words and share this with with everyone: "WHAT MORE CAN YOU BE THAN THE THINGS THEY SAY YOU'VE BEEN".. .
Are those P&W JT9D's? They sound awesome...
ESTE BOING 747 200 ESTAVA AK NO BRASIL NO AEROPORTO DE VIRACOPOS AK EM CAMPINAS ONDE EU MORO NO DIA 17/11/2016 ..POR GENTILEZA ALGUEM SABE DE QUAL EMPRESA ELE É ? ELE É LINDUUUUU .. MUITOOO LINDUUUU ..😎✈😎👍👆👉
Martin Tapia...I'll miss this airplanes, te sound of the turbines, the style, model, the nose, honestly they look much more impresive than the new comercial planes...They'll be the best aircraft in the history!!!
This 747 sounds like an il-62
I can see some MD-11s in the background.
