I just can’t imagine, someone could have so much control over her, that she had only known a year or so. And I don’t mean the religious control, just someone talking about killing their wife, and your kids.
Colby is a very fine young man who has a very realistic view of what is going on...thankfully he is choosing the path that will help him live life with his precious family as fully as possible! I pray for continued strength and wisdom as he loves forward in life...

At some point Lori must've been a decent caring human being to have raised a young man like this. I'm so sorry for him that his family is gone and that the woman his mother evidently once was is gone forever. I hope his heart can heal and that he can lead a good and content life despite all the horror, sadness and betrayal his mother brought into his life. He's lucky he (evidently) wasn't on his mother's hit list before she was arrested.
He is most likely just like his dad. Lori probably alienated him from his father. Lori probably put false memories in his mind to make him believe things happened that never did.

Colby is obviously a good guy. What a heartbreak for him. Anger is sure understandable and I admire his awareness of it so he can mitigate it for himself and those around him. There is nothing he can do but live his best life in spite of this sorrow and I really admire him for being so clear headed.

They kill 2 children and Chad's wife, then run off to live in Hawaii. Case closed. Black Widow and psycho husband. God bless her adult son here. What a horrible ordeal for him and his family to endure.

Colby is a amazing man, you can feel his anger towards his mother. Every word is impactful and insightful, he knows his mother is as guilty as sin. And to be that angry and convey yourself so well is incredibly hard

Watch the interview of Melanie Gibbs on how Lori called her to tell her not to answer her phone if anyone called or if anyone ask, that JJ is with her. Also telling people that her daughter was in college when clearly she was not.

It was a hard day for them bittersweet but they seemed to wanted to have known more from Rob Wood about the charges but he had to make that public appearance and be on his way. My heart goes out to JJ’s grandpa as well. Every time I see the anguish in his face. This is killing them (grandma and grandpa) too. More victims. So sad.

Colby is not a victim in this case. Colby played a big part in these crimes. You will be shocked if you read the truth on the Freedom of Info Act on this case. When these court papers comes out in the trials. Tylee Aunt Joe Ryan sister Anne has videos who displays the legal truth and documents that you should see all of them* A murderous heart* Colby lied so many times, Colby stole money and items away from Charrles kids, He took Tylee's money many times even after Tylee was dead.. Colby hid blood evidence from the police, but they were able to still identifiy that its Tylee's blood. Colby even came out on youtube forgiving his mother- thats sick.

When a loved one does a horrible crime, you suffer in (at least) two ways: first from the harm they cause, and then when they refuse to take responsibility. It makes it hard to forgive people who show no remorse.
You also hurt because you lost them. The good times with them is over, they will never come over for x-mas anymore, you won't buy them flowers for mothers day ever again, or go fishing with them, everything you had with them is over. It is sad, really sad.
Exactly and the way I understand it is forgiveness is for ones that show repentance and are truly sorry for what they have done.

So Colby lost his entire "birth" family - his mother, his father figure, his sister, and his brother. Worse, all were lost in a very short period of time and no chance to grieve such significant deaths.

Two of Melanie's children were on the dark list, she was trying to get custody after abandoning them for months.
They could have ended up in that field as well, she should be barred from their lives.

I commend Colby for speaking out on his thoughts and feelings. Especially for not just backing his mom no matter what and he knows she has done something wrong. How hard that must be! You always hear parents backing their children even if they commit crimes like murder.

I agree. I have seen so many adult children take sides with a parent that murdered their other parent. Sorta like no loyalty towards the deceased family member. I’m very proud of this young man for facing this head on. Being in denial would only hold him back. He is obviously going forward.

For Colby.... I'm 66. My dad was abusive to my mom. He died at 56. I was doing her hair one day, massaging her head n felt healed fractures in her skull. She grabbed my hands and said (she was a very devoted Christian), she said YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE. YOU HAVE TOO.....but you never have to FORGET!

Also, as these changes were taking place, he was not around her regularly to notice them. That mother, the one who he knew as a child, was gone a long time ago with only recently that loss known.

Yes imo she has to know and also if I was her I would be asking authorities begging them to investigate the death of her mom at such a young age from diabetes!? Alex was the one that was supposedly staying with her when she passed and afterwards used her credit/debit card(s) and I would check into if he got the insurance payout if there was any! I understand diabetes is bad however one has to look at all the deaths around Alex and Lori and Chad even tho chad wasnt in picture when the sister died it sure makes one wonder how long killing for money has really been going on!? I also heard Lori had a infant sister who passed away many years ago! I just think that all this should be looked into at the least because it has been death after death like a cycle and I.m.o. it didn't just start.. And money seems to tie it all together. This is just my opinion .

It's probably something she's been doing in my opinion but wasn't caught until JJ and Tylee went missing. Thank God for Larry and Kay wanting to know where the children were and started investigating otherwise Lori and Chad and crew would still be doing their evil crap! Lori and Chad are where they deserve now but there's other's that need to be there with them in my opinion. Hope everyone who's involved gets what they deserve!

Colby is an amazing young man. Know he must be continually heartbroken regarding the utter horror of all that has happened. Can’t even imagine all that this young man has gone through during this last 3 years. Truly admire his sound perspective on the truth and how imperative he feels that there must be accountability. Why this happened - No one can truly understand completely. Because evil does not make sense.
I feel so bad for Colby & family, listening to his Moms & Chad Daybell's multiple indictments must have brought forth the pain all over again, & been surreal all at once.😔

I have empathy for this poor man, my son got into trouble when he was 17 and the horror and anguish, along with my heart literally feel like it was breaking can’t be described. He is all good now, but to find out your mom did this has got to unbearable. Stay strong Colby, God will get you through this, yes you will be scared, but you can make it through.
My heart aches listening to Colby. I feel like he's carrying a burden of feeling responsible for making his mother do the right thing. I wonder if throughout his life she has put the burden on him to be responsible for her. First and foremost he needs to know that he is not responsible for anything to do with her. It's not contingent upon anything he does, she is the one who has done wrong and whether or not she takes responsibility for it has no bearing on Colby. He is completely innocent and I feel like he is carrying way way too much.
Lori certainly put a lot of responsibility onto Tylee. There is no reason to believe it was any different with Colby. If that is how a child grows up, they don't realize it's not the best way a parent raises a child, not while they are in the middle of it. It usually does, however, have a tendency for the children to be closer.

Oh this poor young man! So many emotions he has to deal with. Anger is certainly acceptable. He is so very strong. The love he had for his mother.And now this. How do you not love your mother even when she has committed a heinous crime. He tried. He tried hard. As long as he keeps talking, he will have COMPLETE and TOTAL support. This is so incredible. He owes no one anything.
I think what he needs to really know is exaclty what you said; that anger is acceptable.
He shouldn’t be rushing toward forgiveness. He needs to LET HIMSELF BE ANGRY AND GRIEVE FOR ALL HES LOST. Alll that SHE stole from him and he needs to be given permission to be human and pissed. He needs to be allowed to march right down to the jail , look her in the face and say: you BITCH! You took everything from me without ONE THOUGHT for anyone but yourself.
But instead it sounds like she blamed and manipulated him sayin that he wasn’t there for them!!!
What a HORRIBLE way to turn the tables on him and that cunning crack head KNEW what she was doing by saying that to him. He shoulda yelled at her that whether he was there for them or not, SHE KILLED THEM and the two are not comparible.
I wish he had someone in his life to tel him he as every right to let loose on her.
I think it’s dangerous unnatural and unhealthy for him to be pushing himself toward forgiveness right now.
He’s allowed to be pissed and express that to her.
I hope he gets healing whatever form that is for him. I just get angry at that toxic positivity that I think may be pushed unnaturally early in certain religions and stuff. Maybe his priest preaching to him that he has to let go and forgive when the truth is that it’s a process and anger comes first in that process. Not forgiveness.
