@@Winmaar I've been trying to finish Pokedex so I had to play FR/LG 3 times, in my second file, I got it in 13 tries, in my third file I got it ON THE FIRST TRY!

Last time I tried to do this I spent maybe 5 hours in the Safari Zone and found a shiny Nidoran male that ended up running away after one ball. I continued on and maybe 30 minutes later I found ANOTHER shiny Nidoran male, same level as the one before, and I ended up catching it. Never did get my Lucky Egg but I am going to try now, ty for the tips.
Took me about 6 or 7 hours total of grinding to catch a chansey with the egg. Really nothing spectacular happened. Didn’t see a single shiny or anything like that. But for sure this video helped that process. Thank you.
I anticipated this to be a monumental task, but the strategy outlined here really helped! Managed to get it on my 9th Chansey caught after encountering ~40 in total. Took less than 4hours, knocked it out in 2 sessions. Great video thanks :D

I caught a Tauros and a CHANSEY WITH A LUCKY EGG on the same trip to the Safari Zone. Back to back encounters!!!! Your Lvl 26 pokemon and Repel trick plus the bait ball method allowed me to get the Lucky Egg
Thanks for this! After reading some of the comments I became very hopeful then after trying your method I began to think they were trolling. So many Chanseys came and just flat out fled. There were times where I still had 30 safari balls after my time was up because the bait would make them run away. But after 5 long hours and after catching 7 Chanseys …. I found a Lucky Egg. Lucky number 7 right? Lol This Lucky Egg will help during my post-game training. The method works guys! Now back to the Sevii islands for training!
Took me about 3 weeks of grinding about 1-4 hours depending on the day, I ran into a wild shiny Chauncey that ran away, but I managed to finally get it. Amazing how easily I got this back in the day.
So it’s 2023 and I’m going to say thank you so much for this video, it took me 5 chancies within 1 1/2 hours straight to get the egg. Gotta say that was extremely lucky. Btw it’s best to stay off the bike so you can turn without any steps, I stick to the walls so I don’t accidentally move. Also came across a shiny execute without realizing it on my first 10 minutes of safari zone. I’m use to the shiny sound and effects so I didn’t think much of it when it was different colors. Oh well

I'll get amped up put in maybe an hour or 2 a day for like 1 to 3 days.. then I sleep for a couple months to a year or so and try again because who has time for that? Amped up now. I already knew about the repel trick, thought I was clever.. haha.. The statistics provided by Rex and whoever originally did the work seems so much more doable. I have caught 1 shiny in safari about 3 years ago during my ongoing search. You explained his sheets a little better though. I don't why the non-bait and baited charts confused me. Maybe I'm slow. Thanks though. My original strategy I thought I was most efficient to just throw the balls always since that 1st turn was always brutal at first glance. Thought it was pointless all this time. Glad I can still learn something new after all this time.

I legitimately didn't know this was so rare. My Prof Oak Run the first (and only) Chansey I caught just happened to have a Lucky Egg. It was an absolute godsend however.
I spent about three hours trying to get one, probably found a total of 22 chanseys, caught only about 6 and was going to give up. The very last one I found I got the lucky egg 😭. Time to start a different type of grind.
It took me over a year to be honest😂. I actually found a shiny exeggecute before finding a chantey with a lucky egg and that was about 5 months apart on my fire red.
thats not bad odds, I think the only way to get a lucky egg easier, is on Platinum, where Chansey's are more common in a single patch of grass and once you have one, you can start using repeat balls to make them easier
@@jptheflipper3825 True, it is much easier on Platinum, they won't run away and you can even use a Pokemon with the ability Compound Eyes first in the party to increase the odds of it holding an item, and the move thief to steal it so you don't even have to catch it.
I used this method and it worked! Yes I used save state to ensure I captured Chansey. But regardless I caught one with lucky egg on my 3rd encounter total! It was like less than 5 minutes start to finish!
Here's a trick I recently found out. If you move left right up or down on the same patch of grass, solely changing direction, then the game consider it a step, which gives you an infinite amount of time in the safari zone, so all one has to worry about is the amount of safari balls they have.

Edit: actually got really lucky for lack of a better term, and got one. Took maybe 20 chanseys captured. My general strategy was just to throw bait and then throw every ball possible

After watching this video, I took a lvl 26 starmie with illuminate and headed to area 2. After about 10min I encountered a chansey, followed the chart and caught it. Checked Chansey.... Lucky Egg. After 19 years of playing this game I finally got the item I've been wanting this most. I can finally finish my journey of getting my Blastoise level 100. THANK YOU!!
It took me 3 days purely grinding safari zone. With no repels, no specific level pokemon or nothing. I had a box full of chanseys and my 30th Chansey held the Lucky Egg
If you use oddish, you can attract wild Pokémon without the steps decreasing so if you go in the grass in that area and use oddish ( i Don't Remember the move name) you can encounter possibly infinite Pokémon. There Is a chance to encounter Pokémon under level 26 (using oddish Is not considered walking so the repell won't work) but with this method you will only loose becouse you ran out of ball giving you more chance to chatch Pokémon

I dont have a GBA, always used emulators. Never liked save states, only used them as a "backup" to the save game option (save in game then after in save state). The only other moment I use it is to get a chansey (or when I find a shiny), you guys can judge me for it, Im fine, its too time consuming.

Dont move in the grass, stay on the same grassfield and sligthly tipp left/right/up/down, so you can use all the safari balls. It doesnt count as taking a step and you can still encounter pokemon
The downside is the odds are lower the fewer balls you have left, so it would be sad if you meet a Chansey when you have 4 balls left and can't use more😂
I think the game is kinda compensating for my 4 shiny lost, 2 legendary birds lost and gave me a lucky Egg on my first chansey that i caught and 5th chansey encounter. ;-;
I remember the first time i did this i found one lucky egg after 9 chanseys. Managed to also find and capture a shiny exeggcute along the way! While i transfered up my exeggcute, i restarted my fire red save without transfering the lucky egg to a different copy so i will need to do it again
Lucky egg is an item that boosts the gained exp for a Pokemon by 50% when held. In Firered/Leafgreen it is very rare, but can be worth getting if you want to train alot of pokemon to a high level after you are done with the playthrough.
yes, you can save state on the emulator and try to reset save state each time it flees but it tends to repeat the pattern so if it just flees every time you load back up, what you can do is try one "waiting move/bait" then throw ball, and repeat until it's captured
Idk how it would work out but does using butterfree make it easier with having compound eyes? Or is that redundant, I use it in like all my other games but never like this. It just seems like the 500 step encounter limit would be a pain, I would love to try this out lol. Thanks for the help and showcase!
compound eyes effect won't work in FR/LG, starts working from Emerald and onwards:) You could however use sweet scent if you don't want to use up steps, but it won't be faster I think! Good luck!
I haven’t gotten a lucky egg but I’ve had a high spawn rate in the corner on the left of the field. I just sit and spin in a circle in the same square by the rock ledge and bush
I actually already have a Lucky Egg from Pokmon XD, but i want another one so this is really helpful. I just need to get my flute from Sapphire and everything will be dandy ( it prob sounds like i have the whole gen 3 but this is what i have in total. I dont own a ton of games lol)
What about having a pokemon with Compound eyes fainted in the first slot and a Lvl 26 as the second? Took me around 150 Chancey encounters and around 20ish caught to get a lucky egg via this method. Real time, I would gauge a 10hr process in it's average timeframe.
Sadly, Compound eyes and abilities with out-of-battle effects will not work in FR&LG. The effects were not added until Emerald. Otherwise that would for sure be a great method! Congratz on the lucky egg!

Thankfully, I've managed to preserve the Lucky Egg in all my generation 3 games since 2007. Still have the save files active to this day.

I think you mean the move sweet scent. You can do that, but it will take you longer to encounter a pokemon, so I don't think it's better.

GG man, think you caught my Nidoran. I've been hunting for a Shiny Nidoran (male or female) for a Shiny-only run in Soul Silver for over a year now. I'm currently at almost 16,000 encounters and still haven't seen a Shiny yet.

I was here to know what is lucky egg since I randomly caught 2 chanseys and I got one of them holding lucky egg. Btw I was just trying to catch my first chansey. I got really lucky.

I got the lucky egg after 9 hours, 68 encounters and 14 catched Chansey.
Dont move in the grass, stay on the same grassfield and sligthly tipp left/right/up/down, so you can use all the safari balls. It doesnt count as taking a step and you can still encounter pokemon
The downside is the odds are lower the fewer balls you have left, so it would be sad if you meet a Chansey when you have 4 balls left and can't use more😂

I think the game is kinda compensating for my 4 shiny lost, 2 legendary birds lost and gave me a lucky Egg on my first chansey that i caught and 5th chansey encounter. ;-;
I remember the first time i did this i found one lucky egg after 9 chanseys.
Managed to also find and capture a shiny exeggcute along the way!
While i transfered up my exeggcute, i restarted my fire red save without transfering the lucky egg to a different copy so i will need to do it again

Lucky egg is an item that boosts the gained exp for a Pokemon by 50% when held. In Firered/Leafgreen it is very rare, but can be worth getting if you want to train alot of pokemon to a high level after you are done with the playthrough.

Can I save state before catching one of them?? or do I need to see state before every different encounter?
yes, you can save state on the emulator and try to reset save state each time it flees but it tends to repeat the pattern so if it just flees every time you load back up, what you can do is try one "waiting move/bait" then throw ball, and repeat until it's captured
Idk how it would work out but does using butterfree make it easier with having compound eyes?
Or is that redundant, I use it in like all my other games but never like this. It just seems like the 500 step encounter limit would be a pain, I would love to try this out lol. Thanks for the help and showcase!
compound eyes effect won't work in FR/LG, starts working from Emerald and onwards:) You could however use sweet scent if you don't want to use up steps, but it won't be faster I think! Good luck!
I haven’t gotten a lucky egg but I’ve had a high spawn rate in the corner on the left of the field. I just sit and spin in a circle in the same square by the rock ledge and bush
I was gonna do this but I walked in chansey was the 2nd Pokémon to approach me and I caught it first try XDD
you can use an oddish with sweet scent to get encounter without wasting steps
I actually already have a Lucky Egg from Pokmon XD, but i want another one so this is really helpful. I just need to get my flute from Sapphire and everything will be dandy ( it prob sounds like i have the whole gen 3 but this is what i have in total. I dont own a ton of games lol)

What about having a pokemon with Compound eyes fainted in the first slot and a Lvl 26 as the second?
Took me around 150 Chancey encounters and around 20ish caught to get a lucky egg via this method. Real time, I would gauge a 10hr process in it's average timeframe.
Sadly, Compound eyes and abilities with out-of-battle effects will not work in FR&LG. The effects were not added until Emerald. Otherwise that would for sure be a great method! Congratz on the lucky egg!
