His friendly laugh is epic. Could you imagine being drunk in a bar and acting up and the next thing you know you feel a hand on your shoulder, look behind you, and see jaws laughing like that?
I've never seen Richard in any interview and I am awestruck at what a humble and nice person he seems to be and a really great personary Charming witty funny a real shame he didn't get any leading roles he seem like he could easily handle them
Even though he was known as Jaws in Bond Films. I will always remember him as Mr. Larsen in Happy Gilmore particularly when he bends the 9 iron of Shooters golf club.
amazingly uncomfortable chair for him to sit in... 30 years ago..... the chairs were so much smaller than they are these days.... awesome sense of humour - Richard..... ..sweet dreams Richard!!
I got to meet Richard about 17 years ago. By then, he had to ride a Lark because he couldn't stand up for very long. But he was much like you see here. Nice, quiet and very approachable.
he was also in a film that was spoofed by MST3K (actually 2 come to think of it) . one was "EGAAHHHH" and the other was, ....hmmm i've forgotten the title. he's an alien who comes to earth to help a scientist create human clones (or robots or something). richard kiel seemed one of the nicer dudes who ever took the stage.
I'm just imagining Richard Kiel as a vacuum salesman knocking at my door. I open. See a waist in front of me, then moving my gaze upwards and upwards to see the face all the way up there. It'd be like being five all over again.
Oh Boy!....this man was indeed a giant.....esp, when you're just a kid of 10 or so. I was watching a film (The Human Duplicators,) possibly in 1963, at Toronto's "Downtown" movie theatre on Dundas St. On this grand occasion, us kids had the exciting pleasure to meet and greet him in person. I am truly grateful and fortunate to say that I was brave enough to reach out and shake his Monsterous hand.......(where did my hand go?) He was truly a friendly guy....who gave a kind, gentle hand shake to all of us kids who sheepishly stepped forward. Everyone will remember his "Jaws" roles, I believe that he also may have been in "The Longest Yard" as well, ("I broke his F^%$%^G nose").....but, I'm not positive.
I never got into the bond stuff, before my time, just wasn't for me, but I loved him in happy gilmore, he gave me some laughs, sorry to hear of his passing
Why couldn't they get the poor man a suit that fit? He's wearing a suit jacket that's both too big and a bit too small in the arms and then they stick him in a pair of jeans much too short for him and tennis shoes.
Yeah, when you're over 7 feet tall, rules don't exactly apply, Letterman's not gonna say "don't do that" to someone who could easily snap him like a twig if he wanted to xD
Very well-spoken. He even knows the difference between 'nauseated' and 'nauseous'. Rare class.
WalterLiddy i noticed that same thing! :D good pickup--
his voice is awesome

RIP Mr Kiel, you were always the kind gentleman, therefore the only bad guy henchman I ever rooted for!
Letterman seemed fkn nervous, and a little rude. Richard, as always a gentleman and great story teller! Funny!
I did get the sense Letterman wanted to get him off - guess they were pressed for time.
+Brian Wilson Well yeah.... if Richard Kiel told me he'd be waiting for me in the parking lot I'd be a bit nervous too...
Andre the Giant was 2 inches shorter than kiel, but andre was way heavier.
Jaws was my favorite Bond villain. RIP Richard Kiel and thank you.
Glad he is in this David Letterman appearance. He looks and sounds like a intelligent fella.
Rip! Thank you for sharing such amazing talent with us.
He was a nice guy! RIP, Richard.

He looks like a big version of David Letterman, like If David Letterman turned into the hulk.
Just saw "Moonraker"......Jaws helps Bond + has a Lovely girlfriend!!
a great humble man.......
RIP.....Mr. Kiel.
Love Richards voice!!
The horse started backing away......lmfao
The two kanamits in To Serve Man. And the title character in the TV pilot for The Incredible Hulk.
RIP Mr. Kiel!
You are so beautiful
godiskungen27 thank you
RIP Richard Kiel just remember not to bite anyone up there :)
I remember him from Wild Wild West as Dr. Loveless's early sidekick
He should of played Lurch in Adams Family!
RIP #RichardKiel

R.I.P Sir
Letterman's icy reaction when Richard rousted him at 3:45. I think Richard felt the chill and backed off.
Hey, Mr. JAWS! We see us again...........don`t bite me in haven. R.I.P: Richard......
I'm just imagining Richard Kiel as a vacuum salesman knocking at my door. I open. See a waist in front of me, then moving my gaze upwards and upwards to see the face all the way up there. It'd be like being five all over again.

I miss Richard
Rip Richard kiel
R.I.P Richard. I loved you even as an evil killer!!!
R.I.P
Richard would've been funny doing a Letterman imitation.
RIP
I never got into the bond stuff, before my time, just wasn't for me, but I loved him in happy gilmore, he gave me some laughs, sorry to hear of his passing
happy Gilmore? what a dumb waggot...
oh ok
CazzSDMF Same with me. SDMF
Well spoken , and he looks like Micheal Shannon. or the other way around.
I believe thats Mr. Gilmores!
no it's jaws from 007.
Nice guy. RIP
rip.
R.I.P.
@4:22 - Look at the size of that paw!
Did Richard and Andre the giant ever meet ?
little bit of Arnold Swartzneggar look. what do you think?
It's a cookbook!
Hey! I think I broke his fuckin neck. RIP Mr. Kiel.
looks like a camera angle trick, ya know? haha...he will be missed......
Freaking letterman ! He could have gone with the jokes but chose not too. Richard was a true gentleman.
NOBODY HERE SEES A KINGSIZE DAVID LETTERMAN LOL????
👍🏻
like twins
Letterman and Kiel brothers?
I think Kiel looks like Daves much bigger brother the facial features are very similar ...
I always thought he looked like Ted Cassidy's brother. Ted Cassidy played Lurch in The Addams Family and I used to always confuse the two of them.
He sounds like Andre but less deep and more legible, that makes sense since they both had acromegaly
He's a bigger Michael Shannon
andre the giant had the same voice
Why couldn't they get the poor man a suit that fit? He's wearing a suit jacket that's both too big and a bit too small in the arms and then they stick him in a pair of jeans much too short for him and tennis shoes.
David Letterman is so rude I can’t watch it.
DID HE VIOLATE DAVES NO TOUCH RULE
Yeah, when you're over 7 feet tall, rules don't exactly apply, Letterman's not gonna say "don't do that" to someone who could easily snap him like a twig if he wanted to xD
Rest in Peace, Richard Kiel. :(
R.I.P Sir
