    Damn right it’s versatile it’s clothing, tent, sleeping bag, ground sheet, backpack and even a freaking tent if you want so. I just love my belted plaid

    You know this kind of kilt echoes with the clothing tradition of malaysia, call the pelikat cloth, its a cloth very loose and need proper technique to wear it, the only difference we take inches longer to the knee length, as well more articulate, usually sew with flower patterns or geometric calligraphy pattern, much like a kilt, its usually worn for special occasions, but there is every day kind of cloth pelikat, in difference its ankle length, and more toward how the pattern or the usual kilt is, called btw, just the word for cloth in malay; sarung.

    Question, if you get a traditional such as that and you end up losing a lot of weight can you simply trim some of the fabric off or do you need to get a new kilt?

    • @neilmiller5197
      @neilmiller5197 Год назад +3

      With a belted plaid you just can adjust the pleats to match your circumference, as you do them every time you put it on. That said, you could certainly trim some fabric off if you preferred.

    Andy, what about the series and movie called Highlander??? Do you by any chance drive people around to filming locations for that??? I loved Highlander!! With Adrian Paul as Duncan MacCleod, the Immortal who can only die if someone cuts off his head! He was born in the Highlands of Scotland in 1592!! :-)

      That is one of my favorite movies. It made me want to get more connected to my Scottish side.
      I now want to visit the Highlands, and go to the castle from the movie. I forget the name of it. It is the western part of Scotland relatively close to the isle of Skye.

    Is it sewed at the back? or just folded?
    Can i use every kind of wool blanket?
    How long does it have to be like 5 meters? or more?

    • @ragdollcatledaandherbutlerstef
      @ragdollcatledaandherbutlerstef 6 месяцев назад

      It Is Just folded. Original belted plaid was made using tartan ( or maybe some tweed as well, but i am not sure about It)Maybe something around 3-4 meters could be Enough. But yeah, once people could even use something more than 5 meters. Eventually you can use every kind of wool fabric you like.

      He has said in another video that his is 5 yards. That’s about what I’ve seen elsewhere as well. If you get a bit of tartan for this, double width (54 inches) by 5 yards should be plenty.

    What tartan is that ye are wearin', Andy?

    • @miked4152
      @miked4152 2 года назад +1

      It's the official Outlander tartan that is registered as a tartan based off of a different family tartan which I can't remember the name of at this time. But it is a tartan basically designed for the series Outlander. The time of Outlander was based off of the late 17th century look at that time.
