If you're going to start venturing into FNF, I wanted to give you some context for what you're getting into, because FNF is a bit of a behemoth. The overwhelming majority of what people are going to recommend is fanmade mods, like this one, and there are a LOT of different mods; it's easy to get bombarded first getting in, and get conflicting impressions. Some mods are very meme-y, others take themselves pretty seriously, and others kind of blend the silly and serious together, so expectations are pretty diverse. It can be difficult to judge what to expect from a mod. I really believe mods are where the game shines best, though. The base game is fun and the music is good, but FNF really is at its prime being more of a base platform to build on. It lends itself extremely well to being a canvas for fans to paint on, and many mods go ridiculously far and above beyond the base game in terms of their scale, presentation, complexity, and quality, both musically and otherwise. _(Also difficulty... Some mods really do take it too far with trying to be brutal, and it hurts player accessibility, but that's not really relevant.)_ The more important point I wanted to make is that FNF is also a game that can potentially end up being another Pizza Tower situation, because the music can definitely be... weird, and kind of a mixed bag in terms of accessibility. FNF has sort of carved out its own odd little subgenre that definitely takes some getting used to. Most tracks are comprised of two characters beep-booping back and forth in whatever tone is their respective "voice," and some voices are definitely less musical than others. You're very open-minded when it comes to music, but I still figured I should give a bit of a heads-up for expectations if you keep exploring FNF, because the tracks can get pretty esoteric, and the range of different vibes is incredibly broad.

So, there is a bit of lore here. The opponent in this song is an alternate version of BF named 'Yourself' who has lost his version of GF named 'Herself'. The character was originally created by a creator named Divide who tragically passed away. The lyrics at the end are usually interpreted in three ways: It could be sung directly to BF, sung to Herself, or sung to Divide. I would recommend listening to any song that Sturm/Churgney Gurgney has made or had a hand in making. He traded his grammatical ability for his music making and singing ability. Some notable examples i'd recommend: -Darnell Wet Fart (yes that's actually the name) -Alert & Legacy (They go together so listen to Alert first) -Let There Be Light (Duccly made it but Sturm was involved. Duccly's work is also great) -Your Copy -Manual Blast (Armydillo made the first part, Churgney worked on the second part of the song)

BF in this song uses a custom chromatic, taking samples from (I think) Weeks 3 and 1 from Base Game, and slightly altering them. There's something beautiful about a song called Silly Billy made by a guy called Churgney Gurgney being such a beautiful love letter. Both to a community, and a lost member of it.

So, Friday Night Funkin' was originally a little rhythm game made for Ludum Dare, a gamejam where they only had a limited amount of time to make a game. Over time, they polished the game up more and more, adding more songs and weeks and characters. That's the main game. Some of the most popular FnF songs however, like SIlly Billy, are entirely fanmade projects made as mods to the original game. Friday Night Funkin' genuinely has one of the biggest modding scenes I've ever seen to date, and it's incredible what's come out of it. Just clarify some things, this is a fanmade song in a mod created by the community, not the main devs of the base game. And it is also confirmed by Ninjamuffin99 (creator of FNF) that Boyfriend (that's the short looking character's name) is 7ft. He is double the heigh of how he looks, so that would make Yourself (the dude who came out from the mirror) 14 ft, judging on how Ninjamuffin99 said all characters from fnf are double the height of their appearance in reality. A bit of lore, Yourself is theorized to be Boyfriend from another universe, who tragically lost his Girlfriend, named Herself, in an accident. He had proceeded to not take care of his body, as he is broken, and wants someone to be proud of him. The devs are also aware of mods and don't mind it, as they also had some mod composers help them in base game (for example, Saster helped with the in game remixes of some songs). I also recommend Mario's Madness V2, another friday night funkin mod. But I do say it is really long, more than an hour and a half of songs and gameplay. So if you won't watch the entire thing, I recommend the 3 and main songs of the mod, "It's a Me", "Starman Slaughter," and "All-Stars." Boyfriend also has a girlfriend named... well.. Girlfriend. And if something says both "FNF" and "mod" in the same sentence, it's community made. Also, if one handed is tough, you can use 2 hands (one hand using WASD, while the other using the arrow keys, you can figure out how I do it). Although it's a fanwork of a fanwork and also might not necessarily be your style of content I highly recommend checking out MaimyMayo's "Silly Billy WITH LYRICS" adaptation whether for the channel or your own time since it is a direct interpretation and execution of that question. I don't know anything about singing/vocals as an art but the vocal performance/mix design(?) does a really good job of still feeling like the original song's beep-boop style vocals while also being really good sounding english singing.
This mod took the community by storm (I actually don’t know, never played the game but I’ve seen plenty of mods a while back when the game was still fresh) and this song is S+++ tier. If you’re going back in time to react to more FNF, wether base game or mods, don’t expect a lot of them to be this top-tier, but there are some bangers. Man, I gotta go back and re-listen to them. (A personal favorite of mine that I keep coming back to is “Full-Body Amputation” from the mod “Spooky’s Saturday Scare.”) Keep it up!
Its really cool to have the perspective of someone who professionally does music on something as crazy as Silly Billy. Hearing all the professional insights on something like this is amazing. It really isn't just beeps and boops most of the time, they tell a story just like any professional song you'd hear on the radio would.

As a fellow rhythm game fiend i used to follow the fnf scene, but dropped out around the time the Tricky mod dropped. When this song dropped it was everywhere on my twitter which I felt odd cuz I left the scene. So I gave it a listen and man the who song is great, but that last 2:30 minutes are easily the best part in the track.

its a bit of an older mod at this point but i think Hotline 024 is a FANTASTIC example of the modding community at it's best, i think it's worth checking out in full :) the funkin' team actually asked the creator of Hotline 024, Saruky, to do some remixes for the base game which i think is really neat!
This type of Game, with how easy source code was to pick apart and change, MADE IT THE MOST IMPACTFUL RHYTHM GAME FOR MANY. You an artist? Your work is valued here. Same with all other positions you would see in the credits for these mods, we have a very different but equally insane way of showing care for a technically simple gameplay loop, while giving smth for people to just STARE AND APPRECIATE. Base Game has some cool stuff as well, but I can kinda see why this song from the Mod Hit Single was the video you decided to make. Personally I would check songs from a mod Called Flavor Rave if ya want different music styles making a beautiful blend.

Makes this probably one of the best and most important FNF mods in history and had quite the effect on the FNF community. Plus you can really feel the emotion that went into this song. So I don’t think anything will top it for quite a long time. And even the song subterfuge which came with this mod is also an amazing song that shares similarities to this song. But Is not as important as the silly billy song.
Wow I did not expect to see you check this out. This songs development has a pretty special story to it which is part of why it's so beloved. It's part of a mod called Hit Single, and the whole idea of the mod was to give several unfinished songs, characters and ideas a chance to be fully realized, and Silly Billy is the big song of the mod, it's the song the mod opens up with before anything else in fact. The character that you fight in this song is called "Yourself" who was designed by a modder on the team known as Divide. In the story of Silly Billy he's an alternate universe version of Boyfriend (aka BF, the main character of FNF). In his alternate universe his Girlfriend died and the grief tore him apart. The reason he's so tall is because that's actually how tall BF is meant to be canonically, but he's normally presented as being tiny to represent his innocence, but Yourself has lost that. In real life, Divide sadly passed away before Hit Single was ever a thing, so Silly Billy ended up being the flagship song of this mod to pay homage to the modders lost friend. The lyrical section is meant to be Yourself speaking to his Girlfriend (also fun fact that red bit in the animation is actually a ghostly visage of her if you slow it down), but people also like to interpret it as Yourself speaking to Divide, or even the other modders speaking to Divide. When read thru any of those contexts the lyrics are a real punch in the soul, it's super special. This mod breaching fandom containment got me to pay attention to FNF again after years, which was nice. Another song from this mod I really like is called Trichael, but it might be a little jarring for you cuz it's a Sonic exe song lol, that's apparently these modders specialty.
The Left side opponent is called “Yourself” made by Divide; a person who died in his sleep from cancer while working on a Fnf mod called Vs EXE. Yourself is a twisted alternate version of Boyfriend (The Right player). His girlfriend named “Herself” died in a tragic accident which lead yourself in a depressed state. He started to rap with others to get away from the sadness but eventually he stopped taking care of himself. His blue hair became matted and frizzy, his clothes ripped and torn. The only thing that reminds him of herself is singing. In the cutscene you saw a red glowing in the microphone, that is Herself. She possesses the microphone. While Yourself is singing, you can hear her sing with him during the “just LONG” part. Yourself is singing to divide and herself, letting out his pain and despair. Wanting herself and Divide to be proud of him.. Boyfriend is canonically 7 ft. The reason why Boyfriend is smaller compared to Yourself is his innocence. See, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are quite innocent. Like Skid and Pump, they are small like children to show how innocent they are. Pico is a bit taller, but Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest are very tall, meaning they lost their innocence. Boyfriend and Girlfriend are Autistic and have ADHD. Pico has Schizophrenia, Darnell is a pyromaniac, and Nene is a masochist. That’s all I know :)
I don’t play FNF, but something I’ve noticed is that Boyfriend (the short main character) always wants to 1-up his opponent and so he always sings/raps what the opponent says but either more complex or with more notes in the middle. That’s probably part of the reason it’s hard

I think you should check out all stars next, if you want to… My interpretation of this story is: Yourself (“bad guy”) and bf(character you play) aren’t necessarily battling. I like to think that yourself is upset that he was treated horribly in his universe and became strong that way. But is jealous and thinks that bf is naive and foolish because he was treated so well in his world. But in the end, yourself puts aside his hatred and jealousy to help you, because he’s better than that. And the lyrics are his final words to gf(whether he thinks she’s there or not)

For a little context: Billy (The Guy on the left) is an alternative version of BF (the Player Character), each one has a Fiance of their own, until in a freak car accident: Billy had lost his partner, driving himself to mental and physical crisis just so he can go to BFs universe to either Replace BF, or atleast catch a glimpse of what he had lost (Also, this is just a mod, the actual games story is alot more simple)
FnF has a lot of good songs in the community, although if i were to recommend some id suggest the ones that are clearly intended to have a stronger emotion behind it as a lot of fnf songs are mostly just a play on whatever theming or vibe of the character is. A lot of mods orient around horror and creepypasta themes as the two communities have a lot of overlap. Id strongly recommend a song from FNF Mario Madness, a mod involving a buncha mario related content creepypastas popular animations and in particular the song revolving around the removed bad ending of luigis mansion "Alone"
Technically on a canon basis, boyfriend (beep boop guy on the right) is like, 7 foot something, and the only reason he's portrayed to be that short is because of his INNOCENCE, or something along those lines. So when the guy on the left becomes short, he's basically reminiscing on good times and going back to his innocence from before the bad things in his timeline happened. But yeah BF is massive lol.

I finally see what you’re saying about Yourself being Rhythm and BF being Melody. Yourself is almost always starting a section and having the most playtime with the notes while BF is backing it up with well placed hold notes and presses, making it come together very nicely.
Lore wise he's an AU version of bf called yourself who's gf(herself)died and he might be in Denial about it,the song is also his nickname that she gave him as on the youtube thumbnail and another piece of art it says "she called me silly billy" and "she calls me silly billy" he's also wanted/on the run presumably due to gf dying(cause isnt known yet)the explanation as to why he looks that way why is he let himself go and he's on the run presumably not having alot of time to take care of himself also gf is somehow possessing his mic but he doesn't know
talking about what it feels like the characters are saying even though they're not saying any real words is so important and one of the main reasons ive loved fnf consistently for the past 4 years, the good songs have such an emotional connection you can imagine from the characters and how it sounds like theyre trying to overcome whats in their way and beat one another
This was definitely the best choice for your first FNF video. While opinions differ, and some people may like other songs and mods more, this was the best choice just because of how popular, and well made the song was in every aspect. Great animations, great music and vocal deliveries, a great meaning (As this song was a tribute to Divide, the creator of Yourself, the tall dude), and it came out at the best possible time, being literally the day before the first base game update in so long. There's a ton more mods that could be recommended of similar quality, but I'm happy it's ol' Silly Billy that got picked.
I saw in your description that you see fnf as a web browser rhythm game, id strongly recommend the downloadable versions rather than the web versions. the original creators almost never even know their mod is being re-uploaded to the internet and nine times out of ten there will be missing details in the web version. i saw a video where matpat played this same mod, but on a web browser and he missed so much that went into the full mod
I didn't get to watch the full video yet, but knowing in the context of this being about a real person who passed away, I think it was the person who made Sonic.exe and designed this version of the boyfriend. It's a tribute to him not getting to see it actually put into game

Really cool to see this! :3 The vocal segmant always hits like an existential crisis XD The Hit Single mod has some great songs, and both FNF itself AND many of its mods have some genuine bangers across the board. My strongest reccomendations for the best music in an FNF mod tho would 100% be Blueballs Incident. The entire soundtrack is CINEMATIC, and the closest that I have ever seen to someone making a "Rhythm Based Horror" game. The original 3 songs (Sorrow, Rage and Incident), as well as Pteromerhanophobia, Technophobia and Athazagoraphobia are standout tracks.
I never expected to see a FNF video on this channel, but I'm so happy that Silly Billy is the first one here. Truly keeps showing how good this song is where literally everyone that's heard it, even people that specifically hate FNF, still liked that song. When you learn more of the lore it really makes this song have more weight when the lyrics show up but it also is great for theory crafting because we don't 100% know what's happening outside of what's already happened to Yourself.

the silly billy story is sad he comes from a time line where he has lost every thing because girlfriend died and in the song when he starts speaking there is a flash of red that if you pause it is girlfriend and its that weight being lifted off of him by singing with a different version of him that still has his girlfriend which is his every thing which brings the color back to billy while also letting the bf that still has gf see what its like with out her basically telling him to protect her

Some mods are very meme-y, others take themselves pretty seriously, and others kind of blend the silly and serious together, so expectations are pretty diverse. It can be difficult to judge what to expect from a mod.
I really believe mods are where the game shines best, though. The base game is fun and the music is good, but FNF really is at its prime being more of a base platform to build on. It lends itself extremely well to being a canvas for fans to paint on, and many mods go ridiculously far and above beyond the base game in terms of their scale, presentation, complexity, and quality, both musically and otherwise. _(Also difficulty... Some mods really do take it too far with trying to be brutal, and it hurts player accessibility, but that's not really relevant.)_
The more important point I wanted to make is that FNF is also a game that can potentially end up being another Pizza Tower situation, because the music can definitely be... weird, and kind of a mixed bag in terms of accessibility. FNF has sort of carved out its own odd little subgenre that definitely takes some getting used to. Most tracks are comprised of two characters beep-booping back and forth in whatever tone is their respective "voice," and some voices are definitely less musical than others. You're very open-minded when it comes to music, but I still figured I should give a bit of a heads-up for expectations if you keep exploring FNF, because the tracks can get pretty esoteric, and the range of different vibes is incredibly broad.

So, there is a bit of lore here. The opponent in this song is an alternate version of BF named 'Yourself' who has lost his version of GF named 'Herself'. The character was originally created by a creator named Divide who tragically passed away. The lyrics at the end are usually interpreted in three ways: It could be sung directly to BF, sung to Herself, or sung to Divide.
I would recommend listening to any song that Sturm/Churgney Gurgney has made or had a hand in making. He traded his grammatical ability for his music making and singing ability. Some notable examples i'd recommend:
-Darnell Wet Fart (yes that's actually the name)
-Alert & Legacy (They go together so listen to Alert first)
-Let There Be Light (Duccly made it but Sturm was involved. Duccly's work is also great)

1. BF is small in his sprite work to represent his child-like innocence, which is also why Yourself is tall, because he no longer has that innocence.
2. BF in this song uses a custom chromatic, taking samples from (I think) Weeks 3 and 1 from Base Game, and slightly altering them. The chromatic OP is thinking of is the official BF Chromatic released by the Devs, which started being used in Weeks 6 and 7, and will be the chromatic used for the rest of the official weeks from now on.

So, Friday Night Funkin' was originally a little rhythm game made for Ludum Dare, a gamejam where they only had a limited amount of time to make a game. Over time, they polished the game up more and more, adding more songs and weeks and characters. That's the main game. Some of the most popular FnF songs however, like SIlly Billy, are entirely fanmade projects made as mods to the original game. Friday Night Funkin' genuinely has one of the biggest modding scenes I've ever seen to date, and it's incredible what's come out of it. If you want to listen to more FnF music, I highly recommend tracks like All Stars from the Mario's Madness mod. It's one of my favorites! Tysm for reacting to this song, it's great!!

Just clarify some things, this is a fanmade song in a mod created by the community, not the main devs of the base game. And it is also confirmed by Ninjamuffin99 (creator of FNF) that Boyfriend (that's the short looking character's name) is 7ft. He is double the heigh of how he looks, so that would make Yourself (the dude who came out from the mirror) 14 ft, judging on how Ninjamuffin99 said all characters from fnf are double the height of their appearance in reality. A bit of lore, Yourself is theorized to be Boyfriend from another universe, who tragically lost his Girlfriend, named Herself, in an accident. He had proceeded to not take care of his body, as he is broken, and wants someone to be proud of him. The devs are also aware of mods and don't mind it, as they also had some mod composers help them in base game (for example, Saster helped with the in game remixes of some songs). I also recommend Mario's Madness V2, another friday night funkin mod. But I do say it is really long, more than an hour and a half of songs and gameplay. So if you won't watch the entire thing, I recommend the 3 and main songs of the mod, "It's a Me", "Starman Slaughter," and "All-Stars." Boyfriend also has a girlfriend named... well.. Girlfriend. And if something says both "FNF" and "mod" in the same sentence, it's community made. Also, if one handed is tough, you can use 2 hands (one hand using WASD, while the other using the arrow keys, you can figure out how I do it). Base game's also nice, and if you haven't already, I recommend you react to base game's Week End 1.
Edit: This mod is also to honor an FNF mod creator by the name of the late Divine, who also worked on the Sonic.exe fnf mod. He had sadly passed away to cancer (I am pretty sure) and Yourself is based off of- if not, is the character Divine made a few years ago.
Silly Billy revolutionised FNF mods. Imo Twiddlefinger and Shucks are the next best songs to come from the FNF fandom.

Although it's a fanwork of a fanwork and also might not necessarily be your style of content I highly recommend checking out MaimyMayo's "Silly Billy WITH LYRICS" adaptation whether for the channel or your own time since it is a direct interpretation and execution of that question. I don't know anything about singing/vocals as an art but the vocal performance/mix design(?) does a really good job of still feeling like the original song's beep-boop style vocals while also being really good sounding english singing.

This mod took the community by storm (I actually don’t know, never played the game but I’ve seen plenty of mods a while back when the game was still fresh) and this song is S+++ tier.
If you’re going back in time to react to more FNF, wether base game or mods, don’t expect a lot of them to be this top-tier, but there are some bangers. Man, I gotta go back and re-listen to them. (A personal favorite of mine that I keep coming back to is “Full-Body Amputation” from the mod “Spooky’s Saturday Scare.”)

As a fellow rhythm game fiend i used to follow the fnf scene, but dropped out around the time the Tricky mod dropped. When this song dropped it was everywhere on my twitter which I felt odd cuz I left the scene. So I gave it a listen and man the who song is great, but that last 2:30 minutes are easily the best part in the track.

This type of Game, with how easy source code was to pick apart and change, MADE IT THE MOST IMPACTFUL RHYTHM GAME FOR MANY. You an artist? Your work is valued here. Same with all other positions you would see in the credits for these mods, we have a very different but equally insane way of showing care for a technically simple gameplay loop, while giving smth for people to just STARE AND APPRECIATE. Base Game has some cool stuff as well, but I can kinda see why this song from the Mod Hit Single was the video you decided to make. Personally I would check songs from a mod Called Flavor Rave if ya want different music styles making a beautiful blend.

This is what I know about the lore of this song (but the short version) basically S Billy’s girlfriend dies and he turns into that (bty she makes an appearance in the chorus if you didn’t know)
The story behind this song combined with how good the song is while also being a tribute to the creator of silly billy/yourself whose name was Divide.
Makes this probably one of the best and most important FNF mods in history and had quite the effect on the FNF community. Plus you can really feel the emotion that went into this song.

Wow I did not expect to see you check this out. This songs development has a pretty special story to it which is part of why it's so beloved. It's part of a mod called Hit Single, and the whole idea of the mod was to give several unfinished songs, characters and ideas a chance to be fully realized, and Silly Billy is the big song of the mod, it's the song the mod opens up with before anything else in fact. The character that you fight in this song is called "Yourself" who was designed by a modder on the team known as Divide. In the story of Silly Billy he's an alternate universe version of Boyfriend (aka BF, the main character of FNF). In his alternate universe his Girlfriend died and the grief tore him apart. The reason he's so tall is because that's actually how tall BF is meant to be canonically, but he's normally presented as being tiny to represent his innocence, but Yourself has lost that. In real life, Divide sadly passed away before Hit Single was ever a thing, so Silly Billy ended up being the flagship song of this mod to pay homage to the modders lost friend. The lyrical section is meant to be Yourself speaking to his Girlfriend (also fun fact that red bit in the animation is actually a ghostly visage of her if you slow it down), but people also like to interpret it as Yourself speaking to Divide, or even the other modders speaking to Divide. When read thru any of those contexts the lyrics are a real punch in the soul, it's super special. This mod breaching fandom containment got me to pay attention to FNF again after years, which was nice. Another song from this mod I really like is called Trichael, but it might be a little jarring for you cuz it's a Sonic exe song lol, that's apparently these modders specialty.

The Left side opponent is called “Yourself” made by Divide; a person who died in his sleep from cancer while working on a Fnf mod called Vs EXE. Yourself is a twisted alternate version of Boyfriend (The Right player). His girlfriend named “Herself” died in a tragic accident which lead yourself in a depressed state. He started to rap with others to get away from the sadness but eventually he stopped taking care of himself. His blue hair became matted and frizzy, his clothes ripped and torn. The only thing that reminds him of herself is singing. In the cutscene you saw a red glowing in the microphone, that is Herself. She possesses the microphone.
While Yourself is singing, you can hear her sing with him during the “just LONG” part. Yourself is singing to divide and herself, letting out his pain and despair. Wanting herself and Divide to be proud of him..
Boyfriend is canonically 7 ft. The reason why Boyfriend is smaller compared to Yourself is his innocence. See, Boyfriend and Girlfriend are quite innocent. Like Skid and Pump, they are small like children to show how innocent they are. Pico is a bit taller, but Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest are very tall, meaning they lost their innocence.
Boyfriend and Girlfriend are Autistic and have ADHD. Pico has Schizophrenia, Darnell is a pyromaniac, and Nene is a masochist.

I don’t play FNF, but something I’ve noticed is that Boyfriend (the short main character) always wants to 1-up his opponent and so he always sings/raps what the opponent says but either more complex or with more notes in the middle. That’s probably part of the reason it’s hard

My interpretation of this story is: Yourself (“bad guy”) and bf(character you play) aren’t necessarily battling. I like to think that yourself is upset that he was treated horribly in his universe and became strong that way. But is jealous and thinks that bf is naive and foolish because he was treated so well in his world. But in the end, yourself puts aside his hatred and jealousy to help you, because he’s better than that. And the lyrics are his final words to gf(whether he thinks she’s there or not)

For a little context: Billy (The Guy on the left) is an alternative version of BF (the Player Character), each one has a Fiance of their own, until in a freak car accident: Billy had lost his partner, driving himself to mental and physical crisis just so he can go to BFs universe to either Replace BF, or atleast catch a glimpse of what he had lost
(Also, this is just a mod, the actual games story is alot more simple)
You should take out All-Star from mario madness v2 it has dramatic feeling you see in silly billy that has good story telling in the art for the song

FnF has a lot of good songs in the community, although if i were to recommend some id suggest the ones that are clearly intended to have a stronger emotion behind it as a lot of fnf songs are mostly just a play on whatever theming or vibe of the character is.
A lot of mods orient around horror and creepypasta themes as the two communities have a lot of overlap.
Id strongly recommend a song from FNF Mario Madness, a mod involving a buncha mario related content creepypastas popular animations and in particular the song revolving around the removed bad ending of luigis mansion

Technically on a canon basis, boyfriend (beep boop guy on the right) is like, 7 foot something, and the only reason he's portrayed to be that short is because of his INNOCENCE, or something along those lines. So when the guy on the left becomes short, he's basically reminiscing on good times and going back to his innocence from before the bad things in his timeline happened. But yeah BF is massive lol.

I finally see what you’re saying about Yourself being Rhythm and BF being Melody. Yourself is almost always starting a section and having the most playtime with the notes while BF is backing it up with well placed hold notes and presses, making it come together very nicely.
Lore wise he's an AU version of bf called yourself who's gf(herself)died and he might be in Denial about it,the song is also his nickname that she gave him as on the youtube thumbnail and another piece of art it says "she called me silly billy" and "she calls me silly billy" he's also wanted/on the run presumably due to gf dying(cause isnt known yet)the explanation as to why he looks that way why is he let himself go and he's on the run presumably not having alot of time to take care of himself also gf is somehow possessing his mic but he doesn't know
When it comes to other FNF songs to check out “Unbeatable” is definitely up there with some of the best of the best

It added new songs, harder remixes of songs, and a new playable character.
talking about what it feels like the characters are saying even though they're not saying any real words is so important and one of the main reasons ive loved fnf consistently for the past 4 years, the good songs have such an emotional connection you can imagine from the characters and how it sounds like theyre trying to overcome whats in their way and beat one another
This was definitely the best choice for your first FNF video. While opinions differ, and some people may like other songs and mods more, this was the best choice just because of how popular, and well made the song was in every aspect. Great animations, great music and vocal deliveries, a great meaning (As this song was a tribute to Divide, the creator of Yourself, the tall dude), and it came out at the best possible time, being literally the day before the first base game update in so long. There's a ton more mods that could be recommended of similar quality, but I'm happy it's ol' Silly Billy that got picked.
I saw in your description that you see fnf as a web browser rhythm game, id strongly recommend the downloadable versions rather than the web versions. the original creators almost never even know their mod is being re-uploaded to the internet and nine times out of ten there will be missing details in the web version. i saw a video where matpat played this same mod, but on a web browser and he missed so much that went into the full mod
I didn't get to watch the full video yet, but knowing in the context of this being about a real person who passed away, I think it was the person who made Sonic.exe and designed this version of the boyfriend. It's a tribute to him not getting to see it actually put into game

The Hit Single mod has some great songs, and both FNF itself AND many of its mods have some genuine bangers across the board.
My strongest reccomendations for the best music in an FNF mod tho would 100% be Blueballs Incident. The entire soundtrack is CINEMATIC, and the closest that I have ever seen to someone making a "Rhythm Based Horror" game. The original 3 songs (Sorrow, Rage and Incident), as well as Pteromerhanophobia, Technophobia and Athazagoraphobia are standout tracks.
I never expected to see a FNF video on this channel, but I'm so happy that Silly Billy is the first one here. Truly keeps showing how good this song is where literally everyone that's heard it, even people that specifically hate FNF, still liked that song. When you learn more of the lore it really makes this song have more weight when the lyrics show up but it also is great for theory crafting because we don't 100% know what's happening outside of what's already happened to Yourself.
We only control one character witch is the right one, he's name is boyfriend and the left one is called yourself, the story of this mod is, the girlfriend of yourself died and he start to getting crazier an more depressed, the mod shows the final chance of him to find his girlfriend

Learning the story behind this mod has made it so that now I genuinely cry every time I hear the song
okay, something that people aren't saying as much as they should. The original creator of the mod, died in his sleep before the actual mod was released and the silly billy part is the memento of him. That's what the "stay awake, long enough to see my way" part is about.

the silly billy story is sad he comes from a time line where he has lost every thing because girlfriend died and in the song when he starts speaking there is a flash of red that if you pause it is girlfriend and its that weight being lifted off of him by singing with a different version of him that still has his girlfriend which is his every thing which brings the color back to billy while also letting the bf that still has gf see what its like with out her basically telling him to protect her
