Sarie Marais is a famous song by J.P. Toerien, created during the First War of Independence (ca. 1880) or the Second War of Independence (ca. 1900). The tune is an adaptation of an English language song called "Ellie Rhee" dating from the American Civil War. It is a very well-known Afrikaans folk song and has been translated into other languages. It probably refers to a person who actually lived, Sarie Maré, but due to a typo, the spelling "Sarie Marais" was retained.

Natalia was the section dingaan of Zulu land. Shaka's brother sold to piet retief. They couldn't farm those arid regions. The bits cleared the entire area for sugar plantations using Indian slaves. Boers paid workers and helped them to establish their own republic called Stella land. Currently the bushman language is not recognized and they are classified as mixed race at birth. @barrycushing1402 yes you're right, I know from my German/Austrian ancestry they protested against the roman catholic religion and therefore was banned out of Europe and came to the Southern point of Africa after the Dutch set foot to seek a new life. Actually I think the German/Austrian people settled in South West Africa which is known today as Namibia.
