This has been SUCH A PLEASURE seeing you guys spend time with Sarah's family - the road trips, the tunnel through time with all the childhood nostalgia and historical places you guys went to, and the extra time you get to spend with your family! I'm glad you guys had a safe trip back to Korea, though I know how uncomfortable those long international flights can be. I can't ever fall asleep on the plane, even in business class. Strange, but it was easier to adjust to the jet lag when I went to Taiwan than it is to adjust back to my regular time in NY. Beemo missed you guys so much!
Every Canada video when i see you leaving ur parents house,its just breaks my heart,it must be so difficult,everytime i leave my parents place,evertime waterworks but then when i do look at my husband,its fine all over again. I hope covid stuff gets over and u can visit ur folks,stay safe guys
@2:15 - They had public graveyards in the middle of Downtown because, when they were established, they were at the very edge of town. The city sort of grew around them. edit: Used to love Bud the Spud, but ever since the original owners (Bud & Nancy True) retired, the quality hasn't been there for me. :( I think maybe the type of oil's been changed for the fryers since then...
It’s bittersweet to leave your family and go back so far away. You’ve embraced a new culture but it helps that Kyuho was raised in different countries and is proficient in English. Not so much culture shock for you. 5 weeks went by so fast!
you probably figured out that the cemetery used to be at the town limit... then they built another further out (near the Commons), the city grew more, they added more at the periphery. The old ones remain, surrounded by construction which happened after them.
So wonnerful to c your mom n dad and the rest of ur family in the vids and trying Korean dishes. Your camera giving well defined views of beautiful Halifax. I can almost smell the coastal breeze swooshing by. Really loved the vid, Sarah and K! Thank u 4 sharing n glad u arrived home safely!

Hi you two and I always enjoy your videos about your life. I was so excited to see your reactions about NYC. Glad you had the chance to take a "vacation within your vacation". However, from watching your vacations, I wonder if you two would ever consider a life in Canada nearby your family and friends? I think you'd be able to get further in life buying a home or condo than living in Seoul where it is so pricey. Where you are at now, is nice, but eventually, you will want a bigger place, no? Kyuho has lived in other countries, so it might not be so difficult for him than it would be for many other Korean men. Would you ever consider this as an alternative to what you have presently. (this is NOT a criticism of your life, it's only an observation!) This is not to say you couldn't do the reverse and stay with Kyuho's parents if you came to "visit" Korea yearly or every 2 years.
The job market in Nova Scotia (and pretty much everywhere in Canada tbh) is horrendous. There are also far fewer opportunities in Canada for people like us who work in media/content creating. In larger Canadian cities, homes/condos are just SO incredibly expensive-even more than Seoul. There’s no WAY we’d be able to buy one 😅 The majority of friends I went to university left and also live in Asia.
Only the older ones will be more central, newer graveyards are pushed more out and out of the city due to costs and lack of land available. That graveyard probably began in the 1600s/1700s.

In Hawaii we make Kalua Pig, it's when you cook a whole pig underground in a pit. You can also make it in your oven or a crockpot but use liquid smoke instead and I make Nachos for my grandaughter. One of her favorite meals.
that bag full of food reminded me when I was studying in Japan and my family visited, they brought an extra luggage just with food I wanted. I had ruffles sour cream and onions, cans of maple syrup, maple candies, peanut butter and Tim Horton's coffee lol
The church in the middle of the city is a European thing. Back in the day Catholics thought that the church building is the most important building in the whole town. And when someone dies he/she should be buried at the most holy & important place in the whole town - besides the church (because one day Jesus will come to collect the 'church' & resurrect his people from the graves). Everyone who was buried far away from the church was seen as an outsider & a sinner who will suffer forever in hell + didn't get a proper bury like the ones besides the church. But that changed later on because the towns grew & a lack of place for more graves.
