What have you ever seen the F-22 beat? ........ Waiting, oh that's right super fantastic world greatest ever fighter jet. So fantastic they stopped building it, before it got into any conflicts. One day instead of believing all the usual American fantasies. You might stop & think about actual facts for a min or 2. An aircraft that is supposed to be this that & the other has achieved what exactly? Nothing, in fact it's so good they stopped building it to give everyone else a chance. Despite none of you fan boys witnessing any F-22 in combat against a peer rival you just find it so easy to go against what's in front of your faces. The F-22 is nothing, it's never been anything that's why they were too scared to sell it. It's all hype total usual US BS . When Americans start demanding proof of what they're being told & I mean real proof not paid shills. The country will start getting respect. Accusations, aren't proof of anything. In fact the US is always being caught lying. Yes yous just don't want to know about that. Yous live the comfort of believing bullshit. No matter what's in front of your faces. No wonder the rest of the world always say Americans are dumb. They just have to look at their leader.

@@andyman8630 Because people are always lumping the J-20 in with the Su-57, as 5th Gen fighters. The F-22 and F-35 are the only true "stealth" fighters. The Su-57 and J-20 are no more stealthy than the 4+ Gen F/A-18 Super Hornet, or JAS-39 Gripen, but they can carry some weapons in internal bays.
All 16 prototypes, yes. There are 16 SU-57s. Versus the rapidly climbing numbers of F35's, which currently stands at about 800 and grows every single day. NOT including the 190 or so F22 Raptors. LOL, C'mon guys. I'd still wager one F35 over one of these. The F35 has been brutally tested and refined for years, its the most sophisticated electronics platform. Even if the SU-57 is promising as a design, the real advantages come as you deploy the aircraft, refine it, and mass produce it. The F35 is now the cheapest Western fighter/bomber, and getting cheaper. While all of its capabilities are increasing and obtaining network effects.
@signalreturn563 EXACTLY!! I was in the US Marines when the Cold War was hot and heavy......the USSR was our motivating "Boogyman". Having said that, there are lots of things that I admire about Russia. But for decades, the USSR/Russia has been chasing the quality of the US military. At least China is doing things in proper order; build up the economy (even it it's by thievery or cheating) and THEN use those profits to feed the military budget. The USSR/Russia has always thought Military first; public economy second. Russia is that envious neighbor that desperately wants to "keep up" with the guy across the street that drives a Lambo. So he makes some decorative mods to his 1984 Pontiac Fiero to make it look like a Ferrari.
the F-35 is an airborne command and control centre - it can track you using satellite, other aircraft, ground stations, naval assets etc etc without even firing up its' own radar *and* it can both fire and guide munitions from those same assets without even opening a weapons bay and it can do that from *thousands* of miles away and doesn't even need to be airborne to do so
Thousands of miles away? You're getting a little ahead of yourself there buddy😂 the F-35 has about a 900 nm range. I don't think they'll be locking and launching munitions at 1000+ like some weird SAM sight.
@@blop507 CORRECT, thousands of miles away! did you not read the rest of my post? how? because via *connectivity* it is using a satellite to track you, not its' own radar and it is firing munitions from a SAM site, or a ship, or a tank, or a hand held rocket launcher, not it's own munitions there is no contest against an F-35
@@andyman8630 the thing is it's an aircraft. There are dedicated radars that would be acting as the data link to fire missiles from remote SAM sites. And it should, since they cost so much more, and were designed for air superiority. That said, the F-35 has an over 20-to-1 A2A kill ratio at Red Flag, and similar exercises against 4+ Gen fighters. The early reports about "Fat Amy" not being a good dogfighter, were also due to the early software putting limits on the envelope. With the training wheels removed, the F-35 is no slouch. With the engine upgrades coming in the next couple of years, that should greatly improve it's performance. Like the Super Hornet, the F-35B and F-35C are limited to 7.5G. The F-35A (land based), has a 9G max rating, just like the F-16 and F-22. It will never be the penultimate, air superiority fighter, but for most countries it should prove sufficient as an interceptor. Larger countries will use it in a mix with cheaper, 4th Gen fighters, but for several countries it will be the only fighter.
As someone below already posted, "the F-35 is an airborne command and control centre - it can track you using satellite, other aircraft, ground stations, naval assets etc etc without even firing up its' own radar and it can both fire and guide munitions from those same assets without even opening a weapons bay....". Wrong. The F-35 is an air superiority fighter, as well as ground attack. It is not designed to dogfight, is perhaps what you meant, as it uses advanced sensors facilitating total theater awareness and long range missiles to destroy enemy planes before the F-35 is even detected. It is desgined for air dominance. The F-22 was designed for dogfighting.
@@exactmacro2315 No, it's not an air superiority fighter. It's a multi role platform with variants that can provide CAS assets. The F22 was definitely not designed for dogfighting. Of course it can, but dogfighting is history. The F22 is a long range standoff air superiority asset built specifically for that role. While the F35 can operate as a true fighter, that's not what it was built to do unlike the F22.
@@exactmacro2315 the F-35A is a multirole fighter that is designed for dogfighting superiority, beyond visual range superiority, electronic warfare, and CAS. It's the replacement to the F-16. If you claim it can't dogfight well then you're mistaken. It's more maneuverable than the F-16 and has nose authority similar to a hornet. The poor dogfighting test against the F-16 several years ago was a test airframe with heavy software limiters that reduced the flight control system's maximum thrust and control surface maximum angle to prevent airframe stress. In actual real life combat situations and exercises such as red flag, the F-35A enjoys a 20-1 win loss in dogfighting alone against the F-16, Hornet, F-15, Gripen E, Eurofighter, etc. It's power to weight ratio is almost the same as the F-16, yet under combat configuration it accelerates much faster due to less drag because it stores its weapons internally. That also helps in maneuverability
@@BoomerKeith1 and you're also incorrect, as a multirole fighter the F-35A was designed for air dominance, or rather complete aerial denial by achieving air superiority through a combination of super maneuverability (better than an F-16, read my above comment for details) the best bvr performance of any fighter, the best aerial electronic warfare capability (better than a growler) and sensor fusion data link. It's other roles as a multirole involve recon, aerial patrol, ground attack and CAS, etc
The amount of knowledge by people commenting on this video is amazing. I could read through these comments all day learning new things about these planes. You guys rock.
Here's the most important strategic fact about the 57. Less than ten exist. Less than a classically designed squadron, let alone a flight brigade or wing.
And that’s just what we know about the f35! Lol, there’s a whole slew of classified things we don’t know. I’ve had the pleasure of flying with acouple f22 and f35 pilots in DCS and have learned quite a bit in the past two years flying with the f35 Demo Team!! These pilots are truly the best of the best!
@Vim Fuego I take it you’ve never played DCS…. Most of the aircraft modules are 1 to 1 with the actual aircraft. Even real pilots train and use DCS. It’s far from a “game” hence why it’s called a simulator.
None of the aircraft at NATO's disposal is capable of destroying a SU -57 squadron. The reason for this is that Russia does not have enough SU -57s to even form a squadron....
I’m sorry but you need to do more research on the SU 57 as far as it being a fifth generation plane. It barely makes the designation as far as being a fifth generation as far as I am concerned. The Indian Air Force actually observed the SU 57 from several hundred miles away on their radar. There is absolutely nothing about the SU 57 that makes it a near sixth generation plane. The F 35 is vastly superior technically & technologically by almost every metric. I’ll say one thing the SU 57 is a beautiful plane and is also highly maneuverable.
...and the SU has a LOT of western (USA) digital components, and their radar is unidirectional single frequency, and poor cooperative linking between other Russian craft.
Well, everything you say might be true, but once visual contact is established, it will be "what the aircraft and the pilot can vs what they can't do." If you give me the chance against a raptor at dogfight contact, I'd choose the old good F-16 Fighting Falcon; it's was the most threatening and intimidating fighter bomber in the world, and why that? Simple, because like the Spitfire used to do to the Me-109, it could turn inside anyone's arc in no time. In a large frontal assault, you will have to engage your enemy everywhere around your ground and space perimeter. It's a question of time when radar and sonar will be so advanced that they will we be able to tell between thing and living. You'll have no other choice than to destroy the enemy fleet in visual range or to cut and run, because without being able to display the F-16 performance, you can't result to dog fighting wherever it would be inside or outside the atmosphere. And talking about space, one can be pretty sure that the Chinese and the Russians are keeping a more than an eye wide open on what has been happening to Space X. I've been saying for years that they've stuffed Elon Musk with money, idolized him, while slowing him on his desire to give the masses instant access to space. Sometimes he is demonized in the Press, and sometimes his Tweets shake the Market. If it's not the Elon Musk of "Belly Landing Starship", who used to text regularly the Starship program development, one can ask, what has really happened to his program? We're way, way off his pace (I've stopped watching, right after the first "delay" by the FAA.). Because if we were going at his test and failure speed, we would already have a functional StarShip cruising around the World. Not that the regulations are not needed, but the secrecy that enshrined and engulfed them has made the Program, between its last landing and the Vox Populi Elon has become, another secretive ones into which the Pentagon is throwing a lot of printed money. Anyway, you stuff the geese then, you have it lay your eggs. Musk is already in, will he stay in? To go back to the Raptor vs the Su 57, according to my research, having a longer range radar and missile is the key advantage in a Beyond Visual Range dogfight, but once your prey will be in visual range, it's the ability of the pilot to turn his/her nose toward the target and his/her aircraft (and him/herself) to sustain the G forces needed in maneuvering to maintain that turn. Unless it's reconfigured and trimmed, the F-35 will remained a big "water foil" spooked of being caught in a hand to hand dogfight, and must count on its awareness, better than its structural abilities. We must also acknowledge that we're not the only one innovating in AI and technology, what can constitute a game changer today, can be phased out after a few months. We do not have an elite that put its mind to those changes and their socio economic and geopolitics realities. We're still locked in the time of DIVIDE AND CONQUER, we must get you by whatever means. I don't think it is a good recipy for mankind
The F22 is being upgraded to be the world's first technically Gen 6 fighter. It will supposedly be the bridge between the Gen 5 and Gen 6. It will have partner drones, upgraded stealth materials, low drag external fuel tanks, possibly the same helmet as the F35, and some other technical stuff I don't know. This is exactly why we never sold any F22's to other countries. It is really the superior fighter, but needed more time for development.

Remember what Dr. Grant said in the original Jurassic Park: "That's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there." If the next real air battle involving US planes also involves US pilots, those pilots will likely be accompanied by AI-enhanced drones that coordinate their attacks with the pilot's guidance. They keep saying the F-35 will "replace" the A-10. Good luck with that. Even with additional ammo the F-35 can't carry enough ammo the A-10 carries normally. On top of that it isn't designed for close air support. It isn't as maneuverable as the A-10 and needs a better landing strip than the A-10 and can't take as much punishment as the A-10 can.
You might not know this, but Close Air Support means the targets are close to friendlies and does not mean the planes flies close to the ground. The F-35 fills this role with extremely precise strikes it makes while staying far out of danger. mean while the A-10 has to get low and slow to even see targets which means every single person on the ground near it will try to shoot it down while its trying to determine weather its shooting a terrorists or British AFV's

While so many of you are debating whether the F35 or F22 is superior or more appropriate to “dogfight” an SU 57, I haven’t seen anyone mention the aspect of quality pilot training. If hundreds of F35s are being flown, (including the other 187 F22s) and only 6 SU planes, then it stands to reason there are only a handful of Russian pilots training on this level of platform to begin with vs many US pilots being trained on this level of plane…Just saying…I’m not saying there aren’t badass russian pilots, but if you take the ten best pilots from a pool of say, 100 Russian pilots, vs the ten best pilots from a pool of say 1000 available US fighters…seems to me we have the better pilots AND planes…Russia would be so F***ed
russian military pilots only really get mission sortees for stick time, training sortees are rare. most russian pilots I hade heard really only have about 300 hours over their career.
Yes. Excellent rationale, Ronny. Also, those "10 best" are relative to their own group, not the other group. And with the LARGE disparity in flight hours logged, I'd guess the "top 10" Russian pilots would be somewhere near the middle of the pack of the 1,000 US pilots. Nothing builds skill like experience and repetition.
The su57 should trump the f35 in a gun fight. But the technology incorporated into these jets is mind boggling. One f35 can control something like 15 other jets and organize counter measures. Even with novice pilots. The f35 can lead various jets with different strike roles to over come threats. Even launching another jet’s missiles and acquiring targets as such. So an f15 that is fully loaded becomes the arsenal of the f35. If russia figures out a way to destroy that integration. The f35 wont be capable of outperforming solely by itself. But say an f35 and a f15 together, could run strategies well enough complicate the su57’s maneuverability. To which then. Russia needs more advanced missiles. If they were to develop a cruise missile platform that functions like the f35 using the f15’s arsenal. Then the su57 could strike from the outside in and all it has to do it fly around and wait for a 360 degree radar to scan the air space. Its a like a champion video gamer vs a kid with an aim bot. The aim bots are designed to be just as good as the best players. But nothing can truly replace the skill of someone that knows the difference between cheating and fair play
Correction: The SU-57 isn't a total steal aircraft like the F-22 or the F-35. And, it is meant to challenge the F-22 in terms of features and capability, of which it isn't even close. It is surprising that the video maker classifies this jet fighter as 6th gen because of "some" upgrades" when it is barely a 5th gen fighter...
You are all stupid! The Russian Su 57 aircraft began serial production in 2021, and they have just started making them. Of the 6 fighters, 3 of them took part in the hostilities in Syria and Ukraine. If you think that su 57 will not bring down f22 or f35, you are greatly mistaken. And at the expense of Russian pilots, they are considered the best and most experienced in the world, most likely due to the fact that they are crazy. This was said by more than one US pilot.
@@georgizhurba3484most Russian fighter pilots get 60-100 hours per year of training while American pilots get around 200-350 hours per year of training Russian pilots are less trained for certain situations like wild weasel for example also some Russian pilots are reckless occasionally when intercepting nato aircraft or other vehicles.
The F-35 is a revolutionary fighter that is changing modern warfare. F-35 is a very capable force multiplier. Technology from the F-35 is now going into F-16s, F-15s, F-18s and F-22s. The F-35.has many advantages over the Sukhois. A generation ahead in most respects. The manoeuvrability is better than commonly understood. It lacks the Sukhois kinetic performance. But will likely spot the enemy first. The F-35 is the most numerous stealth fighter in the world. Russia would struggle to support a squadron of Su-57 in Ukraine. It is not in full rate production. With economic and trade restrictions, mass production of the Su-57 is unlikely. Russian propaganda may be very misleading. The F-35 is used by many US allies and has had global deployments with US units. The F-35 B and C have sea going capability. The F-35 will get a more powerful engine. It seems that currently Russia can no longer manufacture the Su-57.
Russia has hypersonic missiles that can carry 10 heavy or 15 medium-weight individually targeted midweight nuclear warheads. Being hypersonic they can't be detected by radar. From launch to London's vapourization would be...will be two and a half minutes. They have a rage enabling Russia to bomb the US from both directions...and they won't even know it's coming.
Ha why could not all this military tech bring the taliban to heal! Air power is not all it's cracked up to be. It has a big problem. heres the key look at the number of planes the usa made in world war 2. look at other countries production of planes in world war two. Then look at the number oif planes each country has now.
Ah yes, the Stealth Boondoggle... Good times! The F35 will surely be proven when attack our next third-world country like Iraq or Afganistan. Only Viet Nam had any kind of air power available but despite dropping more bombs than all sides there our technology couldn't win. Remember when little Serbia dropped a billion-dollar 'Stealth' bomber with 1970s AA like a dead duck? They put up a sign across from the U.S. embassy saying "Sorry, we didn't know they are invisible". I believe they shot down an FA-18 or the like as well but didn't apologize for that one
OMG!!!! One of the first lessons the Manfred von Richthofen learned was that the pilot means as much, if not more, than the aircraft. One of his first engagements was with against an English polit is an inferior aircraft. Despite the inferior aircraft, the English pilot was able to get on his tail three times. Manfred fully admitted that had he not been in a much superior aircraft he would have been shot down. This is coming from one of the best aces the world has ever known. The point is that in combat the winner of an arial engagement more often comes down to which pilot was better trained, which had better natural skill at the task and which used better tactics.
First off, Manfred's journal is one of the greatest things I have ever read. He was a knight. There was a code of chivalry in early dogfighting and it was beautiful. It's since been muddled by technology and culture. Unfortunately war is war and everyone wants the bigger stick.
@@TheVWDude1986 I do agree he wrote the book on dog fighting. Most of what he wrote is still relevant today as long as the discussion is about dogfighting. Vietnam showed us that dogfighting will never be dead. Even if we move to unmanned drones for airborne engagements, they will start making drones specifically designed for hunting other drones and the controllers of the drones will have to learn dogfighting with drones to achieve success with their drones.
IMO, pilot training has been a major advantage for the US fighters. The US pilots get >10X the air time when compared to their Russian counterparts. While play dog-fighting with a model plane on a stick is cheap and better than nothing, flight time and combat training from the best pilots enhance combat performance greatly.
To all you dummies comparing "dogfighting" ability. You watch too many movies. There is no intention of dogfighting in modern air to air combat. You don't understand modern tactics.

When you compared the stealth you said neither aircraft is lacking . You are sorely mistaken . The sukhoi isn't even close to the F-35 in stealth capability . You on the F-35 . There is a lot of easily accessible information on the web about that exact topic .
Yep, the SU-57 is has a similar radar signature as a F-18 without weapons on its wings. The SU-57 us also limited to 8.5G with its current engines and can only really use thrust vectoring under 300kts

Agree with Tiny, Russia has shown recently that it's military is not capable, not to mention their pilots don't get a 10th of the time in the air as ours do. I think it would look like Gulf War 1. We would shoot them down at will.
I doubt that an SU-57 could survive against a Block 70/72 F-16V: www.lockheedmartin.com/content/dam/lockheed-martin/aero/documents/F-16/Jan20_Product%20Card%20F-16%20Block%207072%20media.pdf
The best thing about the SU57 is that Russia has spent most of it's money developing a plane it cannot maintain & operate, instead of spending their defense budget on logistics and maintaining & upgrading existing systems and properly supplying their troops. We have seen the results in Ukraine.
You mean the part where Russia has totally obliterated Ukraine's military and is on the verge of controlling half the country, while either destroying all Western-supplied heavy weapons with long-range missiles at will, or seizing them intact and reverse-engineering them as recently happened with the French-made & supplied artillery units? SMDH. Our media in the West has been lying about this conflict from day one, telling everyone the exact opposite of the truth, and most of you mindless numnuts are too credulous & empty-headed to question anything you're being told, even when it's transparently complete bullshit. Just within the last couple of months, Russia has rebuilt train lines to connect the Southern & Eastern regions of Ukraine within their control to Russian train lines, allowing them to resupply their ground forces by rail, and at the rate they've been shelling Ukrainian forces they've been burning through more ammunition in a month than the US is capable of manufacturing per year - and with no signs of slowing down. Same story with cruise missiles. Their production capacity appears to massively outstrip any Western nation, giving their ground forces a seemingly-unlimited supply of ammunition, while all the NATO countries who instigated the conflict are now extremely reluctant to supply any more weapons to Ukraine because their own stockpiles are running low, and they don't have the ability to replenish them. If you want to have any fucking clue what happens in the world, the first thing you need to do is stop listening to any mainstream, corporate and/or government controlled media outlets. The only way to get the truth is to listen to independent sources who don't have an ulterior motive to manipulate & mislead the public. This is modern media literacy 101.
While people have ideas, war has a way of re-ordering 'facts'. We won't really know unless there is a large scale air war between these two aircraft. There are soooo many factors determining whether a combat aircraft is good or not.
Anyone notice how these newest fighter aircraft are beginning to look like the ancient relics found by archeology? The "vimana" the Egyptian birdlike trinkets, the ancient Aztec and Mayan jewelry ?? Are we stuck in a loop?
The SU-57 is a beautiful plane, anyway both the systems are designed to do different things... F-35 is supposed to be multi-role where as the SU-57 is air superiority (like the F22). I do kind of wonder though if both will become irrelevant soon with the missile and drone tech we are all developing now... With the way AI is going you won't even need a pilot anymore.
they will still be relevant. missiles can only do so much in warfare. wars are use of "combined" arms. people that say tanks are obsolete or that drones are the only way are ignorant of history.
first comment that isnt some wild accusation. im with you on this... i think there are too many people with the (its the truth... i saw it on the internet/news/tv) mindset.. f 35 seems like a gen 5 harrier jet prototype. not sure its made for the dogfights with its vertical flight set up.. it must be a little heavy alike its predecessor..
for now, they are being continued, the nature of the price of other weapon systems make a jet more affordable, I recall for ships a single hypersonic missile is more expensive than an F35, I cannot remember but maybe 1.5 times more expensive, maybe less, but either way it is more practical to have an F35 strike, it increases the odds of obtaining a hit on target, because realistically strikes are not 1 missile, some would fail and be intercepted, so the larger amount of F35s would also carry more than 1 ordinance, thus increasing the odds, and if the plane makes it back, it saves money, unlike the missile which would have the investment expended for it.
In a dogfight the 57 would easily smoke an F-35. Not even close. F-22 is another story. BVR is where the F-35 and its superior radar and Data-Link rule.

The one thing not mentioned is the computer flight assistance on the f 35. Just like on the f22 this system makes maneuvers normally requiring high pilot skill (such as pukas cobra) available to the average pilot. One such example released to the public was that a raptor pilot could survive a two to one engagement from opposite sides of the f22. They said the pilot could lock onto both enemy fighters turn fire one missle at one fighter then the pilot will pass out as the computer will take over finishing the maneuvers by lining up the cannon on the second plane and firing on it and then returning to a low g state. The pilot will then wake up and continue the fight. The f35 has the same system meaning both planes can pull of tricks that will knockout their pilots and still keep them alive. Su57 does not so no matter how good the plane is the physical capability of the pilot will hold back its true power.
I've heard of the plane righting itself if the piolet does pass out. The fa18 does the same. But i didn't know it would continue to track and fire at the bandit.

The Raptor continues to crush all, the F-35 included. The 35 is a ground support fighter. ACM favors the Raptor heavily.

@Vim Fuego It’s pretty dang close
@Vim Fuego I take it you’ve never played DCS…. Most of the aircraft modules are 1 to 1 with the actual aircraft. Even real pilots train and use DCS. It’s far from a “game” hence why it’s called a simulator.
I agree, for both planes this is only what we are told. Who really knows their full capabilties
None of the aircraft at NATO's disposal is capable of destroying a SU -57 squadron. The reason for this is that Russia does not have enough SU -57s to even form a squadron....
Beat the Su-57 at what ? Checkers ? Halo ? Minecraft ?
I’m sorry but you need to do more research on the SU 57 as far as it being a fifth generation plane. It barely makes the designation as far as being a fifth generation as far as I am concerned. The Indian Air Force actually observed the SU 57 from several hundred miles away on their radar. There is absolutely nothing about the SU 57 that makes it a near sixth generation plane. The F 35 is vastly superior technically & technologically by almost every metric. I’ll say one thing the SU 57 is a beautiful plane and is also highly maneuverable.
India is manufacturing its own 5th generation fighter jets their is nothing wrong with su57
Check it in the battle not just on paper. In Syria an old Russian pantsir downed it.
...and the SU has a LOT of western (USA) digital components, and their radar is unidirectional single frequency, and poor cooperative linking between other Russian craft.

This is pure propaganda and not entirely true. While Ukraine is a "foe less capable" (in your own words), Russia is actually fighting the ENTIRE NATO on a proxy war. A non-threat, basically
A-10 has the highest friendly fire statistics of any US aircraft, big gun isn’t accurate

Each has four to six internal munitions so the pilots have a total of over 24 missiles to use. If worse case comes, they can use the drones to cover their own plane from incoming missiles or even use a drone for attack. The drones will be a lot cheaper to produce as they will not need pilot controls, life support, ejection seat, etc. They will have a super long loiter time when compared to the man plane so if needed, control can be turned over to another manned plane when the first one has to return for fuel.

Tell it to the Taliban.
Even simpler the numbers are all that matters. Send say 20 v 6 they won’t last long & won’t even have enough missiles to even try.
Preach it brother.
How many Su-57s has Russia got? One? Or did that crash as well! Russia is a bad joke!

The best thing about the SU57 is that Russia has spent most of it's money developing a plane it cannot maintain & operate, instead of spending their defense budget on logistics and maintaining & upgrading existing systems and properly supplying their troops. We have seen the results in Ukraine.
ok expert analysis 😂
With the way AI is going you won't even need a pilot anymore.
they will still be relevant. missiles can only do so much in warfare. wars are use of "combined" arms. people that say tanks are obsolete or that drones are the only way are ignorant of history.
first comment that isnt some wild accusation. im with you on this... i think there are too many people with the (its the truth... i saw it on the internet/news/tv) mindset.. f 35 seems like a gen 5 harrier jet prototype. not sure its made for the dogfights with its vertical flight set up.. it must be a little heavy alike its predecessor..
for now, they are being continued, the nature of the price of other weapon systems make a jet more affordable, I recall for ships a single hypersonic missile is more expensive than an F35, I cannot remember but maybe 1.5 times more expensive, maybe less, but either way it is more practical to have an F35 strike, it increases the odds of obtaining a hit on target, because realistically strikes are not 1 missile, some would fail and be intercepted, so the larger amount of F35s would also carry more than 1 ordinance, thus increasing the odds, and if the plane makes it back, it saves money, unlike the missile which would have the investment expended for it.
you also forgot the f22 will pummel the su-57
Would the su-57 have the same level of maintenance as the rest of the russian equipment?
In a dogfight the 57 would easily smoke an F-35. Not even close. F-22 is another story.
