Button down shirts just don't work for everyone. I think it is a style myth that a button down is essential. I have to try really hard to avoid the frump with button downs - they aren't effortless and they aren't chic on me and I don't believe I am alone feeling this way.
The only button down I wear is flannel in winter and rayon camp shirt in summer. Dressy button down doesn’t fit my body and is time consuming to clean and iron
Seriously, it's all about the styling, the proportions, and quality. Changing up your wardrobe is fine, but don't discard something and buy something else just because it's on trend. I am in my 70’s, so I have been following trends for a very long time! Figure out what looks good on you, how you're going to style it, and wear it, no matter what happens to be in style. Overconsumption is out of control.
I used to subsribe to Shea but not any more because her "in and out of style" analysis is often unsustainable (e.g. she called ballet flats out of style and recommended the "trendier" option which imo won't last more than a season...). To each their own, she's fun to watch. I much prefer your interpretation because you consider different factors like what is more wearable for what circumstances, what may last longer etc 😊😊xx
I share some of your information on what is going on with fashion, I just wear what makes me feel comfortable, and always look in a full mirror before I am out the door! I think fashion is a personality thing, some people like to wear modern minimalist outfits and some others want to express themselves in their fancy outfits! Personally I like mixing things up, modern with vintage! We have a space for everyone in our world! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated! Have a wonderful day Leonie! I relate to most of these! I loved your analysis of choosing pieces that are timeless, comfortable, and work for your weather. With all this in mind, one can build a functional long-term wardrobe and it actually reduces consumption.
Absolutely! Besides this, please let everybody choose what they would like to wear! Too much lectures and judgements in the world! Hellen from the Netherlands.
Yes animal print isn't going anywhere its a classic always. I love Leonie but people should just wear what you like. Tired of people telling other people what they should and shouldn't wear. Especially if you like it! I understand she has to do her sponsors a video.
Never liked the cut out thing. It’s for the young! Never liked puffy for the same reason I’m a woman not a young girl! You are bang on quality and comfort for sure🦋
Great tips Leonie! For me personally I'm agreeing to disagree 🤣 I've never been a fan of denim maxi skirts as they look too heavy & awkward & have always preferred maxis with a split somewhere as they are more comfortable & wearable. I think long pendants look great with deep-v tops (ie:karenbritchick) however i can see how some may think it's too much. Love button down shirts but crop tops are a staple in my wardrobe aswell (workouts, beach, nights out, etc). Love your videos 💖
Thank you for the style tips. I have a few disagreements, I'm afraid. I love the puff-sleeve shirt trend, which works for me. However, I also like pairing something feminine with something edgier to extend the life of the piece. Also, I live in a tropical climate. So having a maxi skirt with a long slit is practical and makes sense for my lifestyle. I just bought a Black leather moto jacket and absolutely love it.
Same! I'm still wearing my big statement necklaces and get compliments all the time! People love eye catching jewelry but often don't know how to style it.
Love this round up! But maxi skirts without a split and no platform heels 😱😱😱 MADDNESS! Haha Platforms are amazing and timeless! Even when they aren’t a trend they remain “in style”. 90% of my heels are platforms and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Plus I know how to walk in heels, so I’ve never “clomped” in any shoe. That might be more of an issue for someone who doesn’t wear heels often. 🤷🏽♀️
I see your point, though personally find most ballet flats frumpy and weak looking regardless of whether they are trending or not. I find them to be the worst designed classic ever.
I heard of JK at Nordstrom in the States. To answer your question. About 2-3 years ago maybe? They’re in my wish list and once I bought a sweater on sale. Absolutely excellent quality on the item I got at least.
I LOVE platforms and chunky soles. They work for me and I am so happy that they've come back again. Those of us on our feet a lot, knee issues, arthritis, etc., can't wear regular heels. Platforms fill that void.
Great video presentation. I don't like puffy sleeves that large so I'm glad it's not on trend. Nor platform heels. Funny because I just listened to another fashion video that said animal print was on trend for Spring. Either way I like to occasionally add an animal print belt to a solid outfit or shoe.
Not a fan of animal prints, so no loss there. But I will keep wearing my leather blazer because I think it will always be classic. I've debated getting a moto jacket and just never have. I feel like if I do it will go out of style 😂. Other than that I agree with you on these trends
Fabulous video! I agree 100% with everything. I never purchased the platforms. I grew up in the 70’s so these were nothing new to me. I tried on the Valentino gorgeous boots but at 68 I didn’t want to fall off my shoes. But they are gorgeous. I don’t like cutouts it is hard to wear a bra. I gave up my puffy sleeves 2 summers ago. My daughter always say I am a fashion forecaster lol. I gave up leopard a while ago. With my short cropped bleached hair leopard can tend to be too much. I just purchased a gorgeous moto jacket… waiting for it to come… from the Frankie Shop gorgeous clothes. Slits are not it for me. I particularly hate when the slits in the front. My legs are bigger than the rest of me so the high front slit is a no. I always wear a maxi and a long midi. Which is not hard since i am 5’4. I like edgy classic styles. If that makes sense but as I said the hair always leans me towards toning things down. Great to see you model outfits as you are do gorgeous. I never hear of this brand but will check them out! Hugs xoxo
@@Thestyleinsider. i first heard of them from I believe the most fabulous Karen Britchick, Monroe Steele,Highlowluxe,Dadouchic. I adore their styles. Hugs xoxo
I got on board with animal prints so late in the game that I am not completely tired of them YET, but I will avoid buying any more. As for the platform shoes and boots, there is no way I'm giving them up this year... I love pairing them with extra long flared dressy pants for the retro or Y2K styles, and I love the impossibly long-legged look I get from them. It's good to know the puffy sleeves can be given a rest, and I will avoid investing in those. Thanks for all the good tips on style investments!
How about a video on items to keep your fashion fresh or trouble free like double sided tape, the tool that safely puts knit pulls thru to the other side, leather protector, plastic in paper bags to stuff handbags etc.?
I am SO happy I am living my youth now because although there r trends and the end u can wear anything u want cuz if u accessorized well u will look great and modern😊. I even use clothes from when my mum, my auntie and grand auntie were young...so cool😁 Thank u for the vid!😘
You are so so cute in your cargo pants. I love your style and the inspiration you share. I like a little puff sleeve because I have bony shoulders but curvy hips. Animal print…. Cute on others but I never have liked animal print (unless it’s a leopard shoe) Love your videos! I’m always inspired.❤
I agree with all ,animal print I'm wearing only in small amount blouse or scarf, metalic same ,I like classic, comfort ,casual and "evergreen",trends only if I fall in love with it
I Love your video! You are very honest fashion expert. I like how you translate the fashion in a realistic, classic and elegant way to wearing them AND that you don’t bring over consume because of the fashionable trends! For that I am your fan ❤. I was moving in the past with the trends like the wind, now that I am more mature I am looking for a wardrobe capsule with more quality than quantity. Recently I was decluttering my wardrobe and it was like an exorcism to my wardrobe 😂, BUT IT FEELS SOO GOOD 👍🏽. I found out that I was missing some basic and classic clothes. When I bought them suddenly I was able to create more outfits and I feel that I have a lot to wear now, even After a hard decluttering and the buy of the new pieces were only 3 to 5 pieces (quality vs quantity). One of my acquisitions was a leader Bike-Jacket. Here I was really thinking a lot if this will fit to me in the next years as I am in my ending 30’s but it looks very good and it haven’t very heavy accessories or features so I think I will be able to wear it for at least the next 10 years 😊. On the other hand there are classic pieces which I can see myself on it like a leather trousers. I tried a lot of them. The classic Black color straight cut and high waisted was the one which I thought it could be wearable for me, BUT not I can’t find myself in this classic style. I believe that it is important also to use what you also like and makes you feel confident and not only move with the fashion trends (like I did in the past … lessons learned 😅). So thanks for the fantastic video ❤
Besides denim maxi skirt, in my opinion leather maxi skirt with a slit looks phenomenal. Recently I purchased a leather midi/maxi skirt from Zara (on sale) and it looks fabulous. 10/10 would recommend
I mean... Shea's opinion is not worth considering, because she changes her mind every 5 minutes. She just recommends whatever she likes at the moment or what is profitable for her to recommend. Her opinion is irrelevant to me.
You're 100% correct when it comes to crop shirts , by the way who had this ridiculous idea about crops anything ? I hate it so much , because from time to time I will come across a sweater or shirts I like but then 😮 I can't buy it because it's crop.
Noooo. I love platforms. I thought that the trend was hardly getting started! I haven't seen anybody wearing them much yet so I thought the trend was yet to fully take off. (I'm in the UK.) I've only just bought a pair as I wanted a heeled pair of shoes for evenings and I feel that they look so much more modern than my kitten heeled court shoes which are now looking very prim and prissy and dated! And Emily was wearing a lot of platforms in the latest season of Emily in Paris! On the other hand I've always hated animal prints. Can't stand them. But I love a bit of metallic. Interestingly I would have thought that the leather blazer is more timeless and classic than the biker jacket. They're also lot more versatile if you've bought slightly oversized as they're easier to layer. Especially as they tend to be longer so you don't get your top sticking out the bottom of the jacket.
Swapping crop tops with classic button downs sounds bit of a bummer. Probably tank tops/bodysuits is a better idea, preferably layered with a button down (when needed). From a petite woman’s perspective, button downs are not easy to tuck and look neat. Also, petite women need that slit in their maxi skirts/dresses. Not thigh high maybe but at least knee-high slit that show their legs and balance the proportion. Or else we look like drowning in fabric.
I've known about Jenni Kayne for years. But, I live in California. The quality is wonderful and I have a few of their cashmere pieces. I have worn Moto jackets for at least 10-15 years. I am still in the kind of over them for a while phase. I like my leather look blazers and will continue to wear them. Looking stylish is a lot about updating things from time to time but not gobbling up every "this is in" trend. I do live in the heart of Silicon Valley, and style is about 3 seasons behind here so I have leeway. 🤣❤
As a petite woman I can't wear anything maxi without a good slit. Animal prints are timeless classic. Puffy sleeve always bring something interesting to the look replacing them with button down shirts is boring to my opinion. Anyway I respect your opinion and I don't do trends anyway. I do what I like and what suits me ♥️
I have two Free People Maxi knit wrap skirts. Since they wrap around, my leg will show. It doesn't show that much leg, but I need that for movement. I think there are many skirts where a knee-high slit would improve the look and fit, greatly, not just denim.
Agree with nearly all of these, except the animal print one. I love a leopard print and love seeing leopard or cheetah on other people. It's a great option in a faux fur coat, a loafer, a heel, a scarf, a headband, etc. I think it's playful and fun. I knew cutouts were going to age very quickly and did not hop on the trend.
It's good to remember this video is for anyone who loves the word, classic and timless. It's said so many times and that's the audience it is going for. This is not for those with different personalities, but just classic, refined look. BUT I believe women, at any age should dress for personality first. Women don't do this enough. Because that's what I'm meeting when I see you. That's what you express as you walk the streets. If your style keywords is not 'classic,' or 'refined' this video might not be helpful for your style. So if you love drama in an outfit, if you have a large personality, then puff sleeves or exaggerated shapes will ALWAYS be your staple. You can't swap it for a classic button down, cap sleeves. You will feel ugly and not seen. But yes you will fit a classic look. If you have a whimsical nature about you, animal and bright prints will be filled in your wardrobe. Regardless of cheapness. Elegance isn't your aim, but perhaps your energy for life and creativity. Your spirit for life can't translate that 'stylewise' into something with a little shimmer and an neutral jumper in grey, black or cream. If you are in your 50s and have a confident, diva, sexy attitude, then yes slits might be in your skirts and so will cut outs because for you, your body is an expression of yourself in that sensual way. If you love punk rock or a bit of edge because you don't like being too traditionally 'girly femanine' why would you get rid of your clunky boots, for trainers or cute loafers? It's a great video for helping those who want to dress classic with a hint of minimal modernism👍🏿
Agree. I love Leonie's channel for her take on the trends etc but I don't have classic timeless style myself. I am happy to be influenced by a trend when it suits. The trend means I can buy items and keep them as staples. For example, I bought grass green items and pirate-sleeved linen shirts that perfectly suit my arty style. Staples for me - not classic white button downs - not ever.
Well for the very first time I agree with you 100%. All those trends you mentioned are so tired. I'm still seeing circle or infinity scarves, cold shoulder tops and tunics being offered...nooooo. Mwah.
For me I love the idea of wearing a bottom down shirt than a crop top and I agree with leopard print. I think most of the time it doesn’t look elegant. It’s time to give leopard print it a break.😊
Uhumm… I feel like this was bit of a stretch to fill out a topic. Many of these styles are classics that work for many people for very specific and appropriate reasons. I love updating my personal style and maintaining what works best for me.
Hi Leoni, yet another great video of yours. Suffice to say I’m a devoted subscriber. Do you have a link for your denim cargos (which look awesome on you BTW)? I’ve seen you feature them in a few of your vid’s but never seen any links for them.
Agree with most of these! I have been eyeing a cut out top for a year or so, and while I think it would look killer (and is one of the FEW you can actually wear a regular bra with!! - A must for me), I never jumped because I felt like the fabric wouldn't last and it wouldn't be worth the price...
Howdy Leonie! Looking great in that comfy outfit!👍 I agree with ya on all the pieces that are dated. I've never heard of JK; however, I'm not a clothes hound. 💕
Animal prints are a great accent for white/neutral/black outfits. For example, I have a great pair of Sam Edelman ankle Western boots in leopard. They look fab with my white jeans. A jungle print belt on a black pair of jeans, also fab. I also have a black-and-white jungle print trench, very tailored. It's a cool combo. The trick is getting good quality and limit how much you wear at a time. Otherwise, it just looks cheap IMO. Thanks as always, and I did check out Jenni Kayne which I had never heard about before, up here in the Frozen North.
I agree whole heartedly about the animal prints especially if its not the natural skin, like snakeskin. I haven’t worn my animal prints in years. I wont get rid of them because they may come back but I’ve been over them for a minute
Hi I’ve been wearing Jenni Kayne for a few years now. The sweaters are very oversized & unfortunately I don’t wear them much. They don’t flatter me at all & were pricey. I love them on others though. 😊
I agree on all of these. I only buy classic, high-quality items that I know will stand the test of time. The last thing I want is a new, trendy wardrobe every year, and it isn’t sustainable. I’m not actually a fan of Shea, it seems to me that she will sell anything to support her luxury lifestyle, like their private plane, and she has very odd opinions. For example, she said a few years ago that “ribbed knits look cheap”. They don’t and they have been everywhere in luxury brands as well as high street ones.
I remember Shea and the comment about ribbed knits. Totally did not agree with her assessment. Ribbed knits come and go, but they are a true classic. I have many ribbed knit sweaters, everything from turtlenecks to v-necks, that will remain in my closet for years to come.
With the exception of the Moto jacket (as have never cared for them and never will) plus I am also 'on the fence' about lug soles what we are seeing a lot of (as feel they will quickly date themselves), do agree with your observation. As to long pendant necklaces; just recently added a magnetic closure to one of my favourites , to wear it as doubled up. With appreciation of 'your' fashion sense! Edit= re-wording
I will always love my leopard print, but prefer it in the details: A small bag, shoes or a little silk scarf. Mixed with denim, leather and edgy boots, it's just a quintessential element to my slightly rock-chic 70s style :) but I do love metallic leather, too! Have my eye on a metallic silver western ankle boot ;)
Oh no animal prints I just can’t get rid of them because animal print will come back. I just love them. I will set them back for a while but keep them safe in the back of my clot😅
Hi Leonie enjoyed this. I agree with you on absolutely everything- Personally I hate cut outs animal prints platforms long jewelry puffy sleeves slits etc etc Never heard of JK but loved your top. ❤ I used to watch Shea a long time ago - not watched her content for a very long time. Have a great day lol 😘
Button down shirts are not for everyone... You can actually use a crop top or a top with cut outs as a layering peice over a solid tank top or a strappy dress.... especially in a contrasting or complementary color.... you get coverage but also the details of these trendy tops
I don't care about trends too much. If one suits me - fine. But when I love something it doesn't matter if it's in or out and will be worn until it nearly falls apart 🙂.
See where you're coming from but can't agree with all....to me a leather blazer is timeless...like a regular blazer. Maybe not too oversized but I'm not saying goodbye to this one yet. I think its a matter of body type with what suits...IMO tailored styles suit more straight lines whereas bomber style suit more rounded shapes. I also think platforms will always have a place. I agree long necklaces but I still like them...as well as chunky necklaces...I'm waiting for the delicate jewellery trend to swing round to more interesting styles....I'm approaching that age...it's in the DNA...where its almost impossible to resist bling and statement like necklaces...I'm trying so hard to resist lol
For me leather jackets are only for the weekends, and leather blazers are timeless pieces, that I can take to work and look more professional and formal if the climate is a little cold.
I agree with thi cut out, as well as the puffy culture, is si sesonak trends, that I remember that both cane a trends before and after the pandemia. We we're lockdown back then, and we were not hurry to Style those pieces @ Home🤔
Its funny that you said that cuts out are out. I just purchased Proenza Schouler maxi , long sleeves, cut out dress, but since it was too big, in waist, i took to tailor, and decided to alter little bit cut outs as well, especially in the chest area , its enough deep kind of sweetheart cleveage, so why do i need a space between breast as well, and little stomach open , i decided to close half of it. And it still has enough that style, but more elegant way. I have body for that, but i feel less is more . I love cap sleeves. I think thats the most elegant sleeve style on the dresses. Maxi dresses or skirts absolutely yes . Yes platforms, i havent wore them already last year. I dont want stletto type heels either. Love small platform sneakers, and loafers, and kitten heel sandals . Now crop tops are staying in my closet 😜 button down shirts are ok, but i live in SF , so the climate is meant, for crop tops, caftans, all resort style dressing. I rarely have ability to wear button down shirt, even with cut outs in the back. Its too hot, and then its too cold.😳 not much time for that mid seasonal dressing, which i kind of missing😂, Have a blessed day🙏🧡
Well, I am totally twinning with you on your first look even down to the elastic ankles (but I have on combat boots) and my hoodie sweater is a slight grey. I am sure I probably heard of this brand, I only say that because I have seen you use this sweater in few of your styling videos. It a gooood alternative to wearing a fleece sweatshirt hoodie. Yeah, I not so much on agreement with the platforms if they are made correctly but if they are not, it an orthopedics' dream. I have old school ones that curl up toward the toe like a slight rocking horse momentum. Yeah not too keen on splits going up on the upper thigh because when you sit that split moves up and I don't want privates not to be private and being self conscious while wearing it. A split in denim midi/maxi is a useful tool because these skirts can be a bit heavy and allow some air flow and free movement of the legs. Metallic will never replace animal print that is so infamous with the rich and famous for centuries and metallic is related to the disco area and space age trend. I have some animal prints dated back to the late 80s. I have some metallics but rarely reach for them. I would not say replace leather blazer but look into adding a motto style leather/pleather jacket could bring fun to a look. I walked away from a genuine leather motorcycle jacket for $130 but I did not have the free funds, so it took some discipline to walk away but it still hunts me. I am not wearing jewelry at this time, but the long necklaces do work for me because of the large chest and wanting attention to be lower toward the waist. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Funny I am revisiting animal print after taking a break for several years and nothing I wear looks cheap lol. I am also adding in crop tops. It is all about personal style and personal taste. Cargos were never very appealing to me even as a kid in the 90s but all the rage then and now. But ideally if you wear a trend it is in line with your style. Not true for everyone, but I hope many. To each our own as always.
any heels, ballet flats, oxfords, flat sandals, ankle boots, riding boots, nearly any shoe works with a skinny jean. I think Oxfords and taller boots may be the trendiest bet, but definitely go by style preference
Eeek gotta disagree with some of these - as a short gal, platforms under all my wide pleated trousers are essential esp in summer to ground the outfit. Love long architectural pendants under blazers or to give T-shirt’s an edge, and animal print paired with a biker jacket always looks cool to me. Agree on the childish puffy sleeves tho! Xx
I love a pendant with certain looks. They work really well on my body and with my style. I like to wear what flatters me. One "out" item doesn't make or break a cool flattering look.
Modest slits are still very in! I get what you mean though. I also loooove platforms because i have a bad foot so it lets me wear heels without the pain LOL
You're not, I'm not a fan of button down shirts either, not my style at all
I agree, I don't understand why some of them look frumpy on me. Obviously I don't match them 😁
I totally agree! I have hated button downs my whole life. I am 65 too. I do like silk shirts, but cotton or linen button downs are not for me.
I love them, but I can see how they would not work on a full-chested woman. Fortunately I'm the opposite :D

Same here! Totally agree with you.
Shea Whitney's videos are very much into over-consumption! I haven't watched her in a long time and will probably no longer do so.
Ballet flats are never out of style - try walking on cobblestones in France without flats!

Yes, but I agree with The Style Insider in this video.
@@kirstireinholdtsen5844 It‘s about Fashion which is out of Style (video title) and not about Fashion which she doesn‘t like. That‘s a huge and important difference. It’s not very helpful to ignore relevant trend researches and the most recent Styles.
@@4m.830I know a lot about fashion and trends. Still I agree with her. Style is sustainable.
I relate to most of these! I loved your analysis of choosing pieces that are timeless, comfortable, and work for your weather. With all this in mind, one can build a functional long-term wardrobe and it actually reduces consumption.
Agree with everything. But I think animal prints on accessories are a classic, as is a leather blazer. The moto jacket is already there.
When styled right, animal prints and modest slits do not look cheap! Marion from The Netherlands.
Cutout clothes along with ultra sheer clothes are meant for the clearance bin imo and the more cutout/sheer the tackier it looks
Yes, I want the bottom of my shirt! Agree with you, when you have classic and timeless pieces, you never go out of style :-)
Yes!!
I love everything that is out 😂.. but I’m excited to try metallics, I like to thrift so I’m keeping an eye out.
Agree with most of your tips, except for avoiding long pendants. Love them! (but not super long)
Yes, I have sawarski crystal pendant that's not too long, and I think it is classic!
Same! I'm still wearing my big statement necklaces and get compliments all the time! People love eye catching jewelry but often don't know how to style it.
Love this round up! But maxi skirts without a split and no platform heels 😱😱😱 MADDNESS! Haha
Platforms are amazing and timeless!
Was never a fan of animal print....so, i'm ok seeing them go away for a bit.... but loving the maxi being in the forefront! :)
I LOVE platforms and chunky soles. They work for me and I am so happy that they've come back again. Those of us on our feet a lot, knee issues, arthritis, etc., can't wear regular heels. Platforms fill that void.
Another super helpful video! I had not heard of Jenny Kayne. Beautiful hoody. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I love metallics, too, especially in accessories, but my animal prints stay.
Hugs xoxo
Thank you and I’m loving almost everything from The Frankie Shop at the moment 🙏🏼
@@Thestyleinsider. i first heard of them from I believe the most fabulous Karen Britchick, Monroe Steele,Highlowluxe,Dadouchic. I adore their styles. Hugs xoxo
Love long pendants and
Also long pearls
Great tips. Can’t wear platforms, don’t like animal prints and love a good classic shirt so I agree with you on these
Never heard of Jenni Kayne. Looking forward to checking them out!
Great idea 💡
I am SO happy I am living my youth now because although there r trends and the end u can wear anything u want cuz if u accessorized well u will look great and modern😊. I even use clothes from when my mum, my auntie and grand auntie were young...so cool😁
Thank u for the vid!😘
Lovely the forest behind your Windows!!!! Always make your videos there!!!
You are so so cute in your cargo pants. I love your style and the inspiration you share.
I like a little puff sleeve because I have bony shoulders but curvy hips.
Animal print…. Cute on others but I never have liked animal print (unless it’s a leopard shoe)
Love your videos!
So calming, watching you, with that gorgeous scenery & rain in the background 🌱
I mean... Shea's opinion is not worth considering, because she changes her mind every 5 minutes. She just recommends whatever she likes at the moment or what is profitable for her to recommend. Her opinion is irrelevant to me.
Interesting - you’re not the first to say that.
You're 100% correct when it comes to crop shirts , by the way who had this ridiculous idea about crops anything ? I hate it so much , because from time to time I will come across a sweater or shirts I like but then 😮 I can't buy it because it's crop.
Yes I’m a bit the same 😩 I’ve had this happen when I’ve been thrifting lately 🤦🏻♀️
Love, love, love Jennie Kayne! I have sweaters and cardigans and shoes…
I'm a new fan and love everything they do!
Love Jenni Kayne! Great video.💕
Noooo. I love platforms. I thought that the trend was hardly getting started! I haven't seen anybody wearing them much yet so I thought the trend was yet to fully take off. (I'm in the UK.)
I've only just bought a pair as I wanted a heeled pair of shoes for evenings and I feel that they look so much more modern than my kitten heeled court shoes which are now looking very prim and prissy and dated!
Platforms are a huge trend. One of the most important shoe trends 2023.
I bought a pair too and will TOTALLY wear them. I love platforms with a wide leg pant.
Thry are here to stay for a while but I wear vionic platform sandals
Carolina Herrera did a whole collection of leopard print for 2023
The nature in your background is gorgeous 🤩🤩!
Oh thank you!
love your videos! I stopped watching Shea over a year ago, when all her videos were about amazon.
Ah yes I had noticed her creating a lot of Amazon-style videos too :(
Leonie please tell us about your skin care. Your skin looks so healthy and beautiful!
Oh nooooo I am keeping my balloon sleeves ,lol love your lippy !
Tanks are a great idea!
Love Jenni Kayne.
Me too!
Ahh so you’re a local and yep the JK quality is divine!! Your leeway comment made me smile 😊
As a petite woman I can't wear anything maxi without a good slit. Animal prints are timeless classic. Puffy sleeve always bring something interesting to the look replacing them with button down shirts is boring to my opinion. Anyway I respect your opinion and I don't do trends anyway. I do what I like and what suits me ♥️
Agreed!
Mwah.
Wow that’s fab 🙏🏼
I like your hair parted in the middle. Your skin looks so nice!
Thank you so much 😊
Howdy Leonie! Looking great in that comfy outfit!👍
I agree with ya on all the pieces that are dated.
I've never heard of JK; however, I'm not a clothes hound.
💕
You wanted to start a fight today, huh? 😂😂😂😂
Animal prints? 😂😂😂
I think satin pyjama sets as daywear are cool for winter if layered right but that's just my vibe
You at killing me again my long pendant necklaces oh my. Just can’t quit them all. I’ll try to make a tweak but the will come back 😅
Eek sorry Cheryl 😩😂
Animal prints are a great accent for white/neutral/black outfits. For example, I have a great pair of Sam Edelman ankle Western boots in leopard. They look fab with my white jeans. A jungle print belt on a black pair of jeans, also fab. I also have a black-and-white jungle print trench, very tailored. It's a cool combo. The trick is getting good quality and limit how much you wear at a time. Otherwise, it just looks cheap IMO.
Thanks as always, and I did check out Jenni Kayne which I had never heard about before, up here in the Frozen North.
You are so lucky to have so many trees on the back yard. Great video
Yes, thank you - I absolutely love them too 😊
I agree whole heartedly about the animal prints especially if its not the natural skin, like snakeskin. I haven’t worn my animal prints in years. I wont get rid of them because they may come back but I’ve been over them for a minute
I'm with you Leoni. Animal prints always look cheap in my opinion.
Loved your comments. I agree with every one except metallics as the can be limiting. The rest are spot on
Hi I’ve been wearing Jenni Kayne for a few years now.
Edit= re-wording
I would love to see shoe trends for spring/summer
I agree with you with the long chain pendant necklace. It looks so dated. Paired with chiffon tops and a short bob or pixie hair to finish the look 😭
Yessssss!
Like the puffy sleeves-but not the over top dramatic type. Hope to wear for a few more yrs.
Oh no animal prints I just can’t get rid of them because animal print will come back. I just love them. I will set them back for a while but keep them safe in the back of my clot😅
Great idea!!
Thanks so much Sharon - I always appreciate your comments 😊
Button down shirts are not for everyone...
You can actually use a crop top or a top with cut outs as a layering peice over a solid tank top or a strappy dress.... especially in a contrasting or complementary color.... you get coverage but also the details of these trendy tops
I don't care about trends too much. If one suits me - fine. But when I love something it doesn't matter if it's in or out and will be worn until it nearly falls apart 🙂.
I abhor animal prints so I'm glad to hear that!
Cut cam be adapted for colder weather by layering.
I’m in agreement with you 💯
I agree with thi cut out, as well as the puffy culture, is si sesonak trends, that I remember that both cane a trends before and after the pandemia.
Yay to twinning Denise 😘
Thanks for the info … please keep it coming. Tall women in this RUclips space are so underrepresented 👍🏻👏🏻😊
I like most of these. I just said I was going to get a couple of button-down shirts for the summer.
What style of shorts are in style this summer?
Do you have any suggestions for shoes to wear with skinny jeans other than chunky loafers?
any heels, ballet flats, oxfords, flat sandals, ankle boots, riding boots, nearly any shoe works with a skinny jean. I think Oxfords and taller boots may be the trendiest bet, but definitely go by style preference
I always wear Converse low profile sneakers with my skinny jeans.
Thanks for your new video! So fun; it was a new label for med. /Marie from Sweden
😊
Eeek gotta disagree with some of these - as a short gal, platforms under all my wide pleated trousers are essential esp in summer to ground the outfit. Love long architectural pendants under blazers or to give T-shirt’s an edge, and animal print paired with a biker jacket always looks cool to me. Agree on the childish puffy sleeves tho! Xx
I love a pendant with certain looks. They work really well on my body and with my style. I like to wear what flatters me. One "out" item doesn't make or break a cool flattering look.
I bought a Jenni Kayne puffer jacket, loved the color but the size was too oversized even in the smallest size😒
Hi thanks for advice, could you also add style tips for big busted women, that don't necessarily want to flaunt it but a sensual casual look please?
I love your videos. ❤️ and style
Modest slits are still very in! I get what you mean though. I also loooove platforms because i have a bad foot so it lets me wear heels without the pain LOL
