THE best list on this subject by far. Leonie you mentioned a few that are never mentioned elsewhere, and usually the other lists are very demeaning. You never go there which is a huge bonus for all women 💖.
Strangely, I love to iron!😂 you get an immediate result. Your mind does not have to think about what you are doing. It is a form of therapy for me. Turn on a 2 hr movie and I can go to town
I have been able to affordably elevate my denim collection by buying second hand on ebay, it's fantastic! And thank you for advocating for monochrome, it's my go to as a trying-not-to-be-too-much maximalist!
YES to steaming your clothing. My husband & I recently bought a pro-level upright steamer and it's been a game-changer for us both. Our only regret is that we bought 2 cheap handheld ones at first, neither of which worked nearly as well as the upright we now own.
I used professional steamers when working in visual merchandising….needed distilled water but of course we never had….went through two or three in the five years. I bought one on Amazon that doesn’t require distilled water for home use (handheld) and haven’t had an issue with it. Works well. I have had hand held ones before that just sputtered and spit water…shite!
I wore make up every day throughout covid and wearing masks I’m a dementia carer my colleges used to laugh I didn’t care the half of my face you could see was going to be presentable and be me! ❤
I am extremely thin. However, I have a DDD chest. I used to try to wear baggy shirts to hide my chest and tighter pants. I looked even more big chested compared to my scrawny legs. Lol. Then I started wearing fitted shirts with wide leg pants. It made a world of difference. I still look big chested. However, wide leg pants make me look more balanced. I think adding volume on the bottom actually takes some attention away from my top half.
Great Video!! I am learning European Portuguese because I’ve just become a resident and purchased a home on the Island of Madeira. English is my first and only fluent language. Plus I speak a bit of German.
I've bought 3 pairs of Old Navy jeans in 2X from Old Navy in the past 18 months, and they are perfect! Flares, wide leg and cuffed boyfriend ones that are slightly distressed. I also got some interesting chinos/kinda cargoes that I adore! I paid $25-30 per pair! Heavy thick material, perfect fit, 3 high waisted, one mid rise. I also got a pair of black Levi's jeans that do not fit as well, for twice the price!
Leonie, your top reminds me of the black and white Balmain top KarenBritChick recently wore in Milan. I know you love her, I do too, and I don’t usually like tie-die but I love this shirt!!
Ironing and steaming are so essential. I’ve always had an commercial full-size steamer and a good iron and board with an attached sleeve board, they both get quite a workout. I usually iron woven cottons and linens and steam knits, silks, etc., whichever I think will give the best-looking result. I made a little laundry area by walling off the part of my garage that had the laundry machines, and I can keep my ironing board up and my steamer out there. I also have a drying rack, clothesline and a big fan there, as I don’t put clothes in the tumble dryer (the fan cuts drying time in half).
Another great video, Leonie! Re languages: I'm a native Montrealer (now living in Toronto) and so French was de riguer, especially as I was a journalist covering politics. I'm of Greek descent so I speak that. I fell in love with Italy, Sicily especially, and traveled there so often that I just had to learn Italian. It was surprisingly easy as, like French, it's a Romance language (in every sense of the word!!) which came easily to me thanks to speaking French and my high school Latin. I think speaking more than one language is great training for the brain. It's like slipping it onto a different gear, or groove. Plus it's handy in restaurants and, especially while bargaining while shopping in Europe! On to your tips: I was so tired of dragging out my ironing board and iron during the summer that I almost gave in to wrinkles, especially since my overcrowded closets smoosh all my cottons, linens and silks. Then I bought a good handheld steamer and I will never go back. I see many tips videos from many fashionistas who talk about steamers, two-sided tape, lint rollers, leather hole punches and other wardrobe must-have tools. I have yet to see anybody post about a boot jack. I have an old wooden one I bought years ago when I purchased a fancy pair of cowgirl boots in Calgary. Today I use it not only for my western boots but also for stubborn sock booties with no zippers, and tall or over-the-knee boots that are close-fitting. I'd be lost without it.
@@luluandmeow Merci! Footwear (and cars) last much longer in Toronto though. Way less salt & slush. In fact, this week was the first I saw any. But I have nice tall waterproof Cougar boots for the occasion. 🙂
I so agree with these tips, especially tucking in tops! I always tuck mine in, wearing long tops of sweaters out makes the legs look stumpy and obscures all shape in the torso.
Love your tie dye top! My first language was German but grew up speaking English so am bilingual. I also speak some Spanish and a little French. Love my steamer. I will only buy 100% cotton jeans.
Like you Leoni, I love French, studied it in high school and some in college but there are very few people or places in LA, CA that you get to use French! It’s not like in Europe, if you go to what would just be another county here, you’re surrounded by French speaking people! I want to learn Spanish because there are LOTS of Spanish speaking people here! Lots of opportunity to practice!😊
I'm very happy you're learning french, I don't speak English very well, now I know that I can comment in french and you'll understand 😍😄. I speak french,Haitian creole and dutch, I'm learning English and German.
I really enjoy watching your videos , I like fashion and I get a lost of good fashion ideas from your videos ♥️I speak 2 languages,Persian and English 😂
the beauty of youtube is the personality and naturalness of many of the youtubers…this would be a good channel if it didn’t sound like a 1990’s infomercial
@@magdlynstrouble2036 yes! My husband just started thrifting and he has gotten all his jeans thrifting. He has gotten all the name brands and all in pristine condition. I tend to like the vintage Levi’s and Lee with no stretch.
Hi Leonie, I love your channel but you feature quite a few fashion victim looks that are not wearable and will not last. My tip for looking expensive is to have a good handbag, whether structured or not, and great footwear, clean and in good condition. Losing 4 stones and staying slim has helped me look more elegant and healthy, carrying on excess weight is not healthy or sexy or elegant and makes outfits look cheap. It is also ageing which also affects the way your clothes look on you. I am aware this is not very PC, I don't mean to offend anyone, I've been fat most of my life and felt awful and looked awful in clothes then.
Great video loving your hair! Although I personally think French is the most beautiful language,I’m going to say Norwegian. My grandparents were from Norway and I grew up hearing them speak it but sadly never learned. So I appreciate the discount code for Babbel and will definitely take advantage of it! Thanks for all the great content….you’re lovely ❤

In the warmer months i love to wear a loose shirt over a tank or tshirt, with jeans.. i dont like to show my upper arms or legs😅 In the colder months i love loose on top, slimmer and than combat boots. But i love my slimmer looking shoes too
I only speak one language, but I would love to know what language my ancestors spoke and what tribe they were from before they were brought here and enslaved. Since Spanish is basically becoming the second language here in America, it would be useful to be able to understand and speak it. Detail is my main problem because I don't plan out what I going to wear for the day by the time I get dress, I am just trying to get out the door so not reaching for accessories. And the makeup thing has been a major problem for me because I just never take the time if it not a special occasion (and then I am frustrated during the process). I will put this in my calendar to look into and make a goal because I do need a foundation that works with my now dry skin and matches my skin color. Oui Oui Pareeee! Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and all in the days to come.
Leonie, I really wish you could explain why outfits almost always need a third piece of wardrobe? You always need a top, bottom and a sweater, jacket or coat to look finished? I don't think I've ever seen an outfit without it even dresses have a cardigan. Isn't it possible to just wear a top and bottom with accessories like a purse or jewelry.
I don't care-- if it's 85+ degrees, I'm not wearing a third layer! If you need to look real stylish, a cotton floaty dress or linen pants/,top looks very nice, IMO.
The best advice is to iron or steam, I cannot say how awful wrinkles look on a beautiful outfit and you can make even the least expensive clothing look upscale with a little ironing

I don’t wear jeans often enough to justify spending a lot on them. Unlike most women, I maybe only wear them a few times per year, if at all, when nothing else will do for the occasion (it’s very difficult for me to find any that fit my straight shape and they’re really uncomfortable). I know what you mean, though, I just got a pair that I love, style- and fit-wise, from H&M and after just one pre-rinse before hemming them, the tops of the pockets are stretched out and drooping. I haven’t even worn them yet, much less used the pockets. They claim to have only 1% Elastane. I really only like 100% cotton denim.
@kimberly Perrotis Have you tried Zara Jeans? They have so many styles and colours at affordable prices. for people who don’t wear jeans often. Much better In quality than H&M in my opinion. I’m sure you would find the perfect pair there.
