The skirt over pants trend is definitely a pass for me. On my very petite frame I think all that fabric would just swallow me whole and look more messy than chic. If I were 5'10? Might be a different story. Love your videos! Good morning from snowy Alaska!
I love your videos. They explain the trends with a variety of examples so I can figure out what to buy. I don't live in a fashion forward city so I rely on the internet to keep in the loop
Love peep toes, flip flops, definitely not a huge fan of plaid. Love my sportswear too & of course that ethereal/boho type dressing. Have strapless dresses ever been out?? 😀 love them!! So I’m super happy for 2025!!
Hi Leonie ! Another great video. Interesting collection of trends ❤I wouldn’t wear the skant / love ❤️ the feminine items as well as asymmetry . Thank you
I was a hard no on the peep toe, but I think it it's done modernly and just a slight peep, then I would definitely try it. I do not like the wider peep style, but something minimulistt, I would try. Not liking the skant style at all. Elevated activewear, yes! Plaid, yes. Yellow (the right shade) yes. Suede, yes! Love your fashion trends videos💕
So happy on the peep toes! I am older than you and have held on to shoes, which I feel were much higher quality “ back in the dark ages”, and pull things in and out of rotation. I was ecstatic to wear all my sling backs, kitten heels, square toes etc. that I had not for so many yrs. Now, I can pull out sling back leopard peeps, python peeps etc! Now just bring back the open toed “ caged heels” and I will be set!😊( yes, I have been blessed with good feet but I also work very hard on keeping them that way, so no qualms about exposing)
I always love seeing your content and presentation of trends, but I think I may be too short for the skant, as it may add too much fabric to my curvy body. Looks good on tall and thin ladies, tho! Thanks, Leoni!
Very interesting video! Thank you 😊! Sometimes I wear a mini above trousers, but I'm not sure with the skant. Perhaps... I don't like assemetric skirts. Seeing them irritates me in a way. I don't like plaid and animal print. Polos are boring. What I'm really happy about are the romantic dresses ❤.
Always happy to see your videos , what else Leonie going influence me 😳🤪😂 so love to wear skirts and dresses over the pants, especially if the dress little bit more sheer. Speaking of that I just got one of treasures of Old Celine slip dresses. 2018 Tie dye. The cut the colours, the fabric, little bit lace inserts, its unbelievable. And specially in cooler weather will wear over pants. But buying scant ? No It’s like buying a dress, it’s no versatility. I already have that problem, by having more dresses than separates🤪 Tank top I like it. That Prada tank top from a few years back, still on my list . I don’t care for assymetrics. Love athletic dress up, especially the jackets over some silk dresses. Animal print I have only boa snake ones from old Celine, but that leopard is growing on me😂 would love maxi dress for summer🤔 checks and plaids got another Old Celine treasure- one of those famous corseted dress from 2018 . Again the cut. How she does it. There are some dupes, but no one got proportions and cut right🤪 Love yellow but just need to be the right shade. I might just get it those Phoebe Philo zipper strap jeans. I was waiting for some other colour, but so far they have light yellow and acid wash. Suede oh love at this time of the year. Would love to get a bag. Oh it’s always some temptations, especially at this time of the year. Christmas are coming, and even Florida still so hot, I want red vintage Chanel jacket😳😂 I guess it’s hard to change completely from Chanel 😳😂😂😂 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Love the ‘skant’ style. I’ve worn it for many years, whether in style or not. Actually purchased a pair of cross-over pants in New Zealand about 25 years ago! I live in the US. Thank you for all you share. I learn something every vlog you present. Cheers.
Can't do skant(rhymes?😁).Peep toes suit very few feet, definiltely not my ugly toes.Love the romantic dresses and animal print.Yellow is also weird on most skin tones. Thanks Leonie❤
As a crocheter, I love the idea of making a skirt to compliment pants and put right over it. You can control the movement, color, pattern and you can make yarn out of anything from a thrift shop almost. Crochet jean skirt over jeans... I would love.
Elevated athletic wear is the one I can back wholeheartedly. The others, well, let's just say that I am hesitant. I can pull out the very limited yellow items that I have and perhaps feature them. Thanks, Leonie, for keeping us in the know!
The majority of these trends are not me. 🤷♀ I do love my light feminine dresses and I’ve been into plaid for this fall-winter (flannel plaid skirts and short dresses) and looking forward to plaid for spring-summer in lighter brighter colors like a madras plaid. I have a stack of plaids I’ll be sewing in the next month for my fall-winter wardrobe and I’m sourcing some for spring. I do have a couple of asymmetric skirts but that’s it. Those are the only trends I really can see myself pulling from my closet for.
I love the lose boho skant looks! The ones that sort of remind me of Indian traditional outfits, I’m not sure what they are called 🤔 the long tunic worn with trousers
I absolutely love the look of a skirt with pants. I'm glad to see it make a resurgence. Peep toe shoes are just not for me, and especially the peep toe boots. The boots are too much for warmer weather, but you can't wear them in cooler or snowy weather, either, because of the open toe. I do love plaid, but am just over animal print. I've gotten rid of the majority of my animal print wear, but hung on to a couple of pieces because it pops up every few seasons. Never been able to pull of strapless, but love it on others.
The skant was new to me, too. I'll be interested to see more of the shapes used in this style of clothing. Interesting possibilities for those of us who like to upcycle. Thanks.
I really like the idea of wearing a skirt with my trousers or jeans. I already had some short skirts that I would no longer be wearing because I’m in my 60s and this is a good way to keep them in my closet and useful for Styling. I really like wearing Cammies or tank top shirts under my blazers or cardigan. Because i spend lot of my time in sports gear around the house, last weekend try the look of throwing a pair of heeled black boots on with my Adidas track pants and blazer over hoodie and it worked out really good
Skants can look lux, but often before it hits the masses it will be a mess! No to asymentrical anything, I remember the horrible haircuts..lol. Flip flops are okay for beach/pool wear, not on the street. I just can't help thinking they look sloppy. Yes to yellow, strapless dresses, plaid, lady like polo tops and animal print. Hooray!
Love your videos, but I WISH you'd put who the designer is at the bottom of each runway shot. That way folks can shop the looks you're showing us and making us want to buy.
Well, darn. I am so terribly basic. I think animal print, romantic pieces, and yellow look gorgeous on others, but not on me. There was NOTHING better than a flip flop for me back in the day, but an ankle surgery left my right big toe mostly numb, and your feet have to cooperate to wear them. Tank tops and barrel leg jeans-I’m ALL in! Another lovely video, Leonie! Thank you! 🌻
Ive noticed that in terms of fashion and maybe makeup, rising artists like Chapell Roan or Sabrina Carpenter are bringing back that sort of glamish look with their music. Something that ive noticed for example, is the shift from natural casual looks to extravagant and colorfull looks. Ive always been a huge fan of these looks and seeing individualism and big forms of expression come back through clothing just warms my heart
I always watch your videos around this time of the year. I choose and buy something that I would like to wear and is usually actual for at least 2 years. Brilliant! 👍
The peep toe shoe is a definite no! For me. Never have liked them. Skirt over pants is a no. I guess I’m boring. I’ve always loved the classic style. Thank you! Enjoyed the video 😀
I agreed and I don’t consider myself boring so you are not. Actually I don’t think I like any of the styles 🤷♀️ for spring I can see myself wearing the plait type of shirt or jacket but not for summer. The tank tops are cool to wear too for the summer, animal prints are definitely cool and the asymmetrical skirts depends on how asymmetrical they are but I do have couple skirts that are I will say semi-asymmetrical,but I guess that’s it for me 🤷♀️
This video is making me excited for 2025! I am here for the skant - so eclectic and Carrie Bradshaw-esque. I love animal print (especially cow print!), suede (I found a great vintage suede jacket second hand!) and polos (they remind me of high school - Abercrombie and Lacoste polos were all the rage). I will say peep toe heels remind me of the many painful, very high peep toe heels I wore in college and as a bridesmaid in my 20s. I’m not sure I will be revisiting that trend, haha, but I always try to stay open-minded!
I suggest that if you’re going to do a video about fashion, you wear something more fashionable than an oversized orange, colored T-shirt with a logo on it☹️
I just thrifted a skant!! I loved it and did not know why! I love all of these trends-the animal prints-on others but definitely not a hater! AND totally buying the pillow for my skin conscious teen!! Best 20 minute investment in watching this video-thank you!!!
I think the skant can stay at the shop it won't be a trend that lasts I do love how it looks but just wear a skirt over your trousers or jeans then when it's not on trend anymore you can wear the two pieces separate too ❤
The scant 😂😂😂! Kinda the opposite of it's name. The style reminds me of how elementary kids dress themselves with free reign. I think I'd prefer to call it a pirt! Skirtaloon is even better 😁
I love when trends give me the confidence to wear something that I actually think is pretty ugly and make it work. I think the “skant” is an example of that, I can’t wait to try it with layering what I already have.
Yes I have actually but have never really been sure if there is any interest. I should definitely give it a go tho - thanks so much for the reminder 🙏🏼
@@Thestyleinsider. Sorry misspelling your name. I love your work. I think it would be very interesting! Also could help to suggest styles for the men in our lives! Thanks!
It’s funny because I just got rid of almost all my peep toe shoes. I got rid of them because the heel height, and they were uncomfortable not going back. Not doing the flip-flop either I cannot stand something between my toes. The skant skirt pants, not gonna go there for myself everybody enjoyed that one. I will stick to pants or skirt, but not both. I will embrace the sports wear. Thank you
I like the look of the skirt over pants but not for me...I severely dislike asymetrical hems. I have raged for years over this trend. It reminds me of a ragged dress torn at he hemline, or a fairy off PeterPan, etc 😂❤
I love the floaty chiffon dress trend and it looks so good with biker boots chunky with the buckles all the way up its definitely the wrong shoe theory but is it really I think it's the right shoe 😂 ❤
Skirts over trousers or in trousers 🤔 not too sure I’d try it before I’d decide I think. Peep toe shoes……nope, flip flops…….nope, yellow…..nope, strapless anything……nope definitely not. Love idea of floaty dresses though so something to look forward to 😊 love your top by the way 🥰
I’m neurodivergent, I “can’t wear” things that will make me feel physically uncomfortable…. Peep toes are out. Same thing with asymmetry. Something in my brain gets itchy.
I don't think I will ever do the scant. I think it freaks me out I didn't like it. When what was it the early 2000s girls were wearing jeans with a skirt on top it's like too confusing for my brain but I do think that it looks super cool on people who are comfortable in it I just know me and no, I would not be comfortable, literally.
Personally I am looking for Handmaid Tale's inspired fashion to go with major reversal of women's rights in the US we can expect from the new regime in 2025.
I like the skants they modeled on men. But for myself, a woman. I doubt the guys are really gonna wear those. I Hope they are going to come in PETITE sizes. I'm not buying anything I have to alter anymore. There are MILLIONS of petites, I think clothes mfr's need to Stop Ignoring us, as if we're somehow not worthy to wear their clothes. It's the way many (used to) ignore extra large sizes.
I'm older. I was a teacher really back in the day and we couldn't wear pants, slacks or jeans so I used to get behind my closet door and put pants on under my dress or skirt to go out for yard duty in the winter.
Your closet is simple a dream! Not just the *suluxy* bags but the ready to wear that you have is absolutely stunning

I love love the skirted pants
I saw an asymmetrical sheer plaid skirt on Pinterest im obsessed
I love the asymetrical trend. I think it fits my personal style and can be part of my regular closet even after the trend eventually dies.
Ive used your code for the Aula pillow, I am looking forward to it :)
That strapless dress is amazing. Definitely a versatile piece too. I love the plaids and agree, no peep toes!
Oohhhh, I love your chocolate brown strapless dress!

I’m sure you’re not - they are kind of meant to be somewhat crazy to grab attention and great a kind of theatre I suppose 😱
Agree with you 💯%

I loved the suede and animal printed pieces though.😅

As a crocheter, I love the idea of making a skirt to compliment pants and put right over it. You can control the movement, color, pattern and you can make yarn out of anything from a thrift shop almost. Crochet jean skirt over jeans... I would love.

Elevated athletic wear is the one I can back wholeheartedly. The others, well, let's just say that I am hesitant. I can pull out the very limited yellow items that I have and perhaps feature them. Thanks, Leonie, for keeping us in the know!
Fair enough! My favourite is definitely the elevated athletic wear - it very much suits my personal style.
The majority of these trends are not me. 🤷♀ I do love my light feminine dresses and I’ve been into plaid for this fall-winter (flannel plaid skirts and short dresses) and looking forward to plaid for spring-summer in lighter brighter colors like a madras plaid.
No doubt it will be flogged by the grifter
I thought we’re talking about fashion… lols almost half of it is about pillow 😂
I like the skants they modeled on men. But for myself, a woman. I doubt the guys are really gonna wear those. I Hope they are going to come in PETITE sizes. I'm not buying anything I have to alter anymore. There are MILLIONS of petites, I think clothes mfr's need to Stop Ignoring us, as if we're somehow not worthy to wear their clothes. It's the way many (used to) ignore extra large sizes.
I do have a yellow skirt that I do love…I have to keep it away from my face.
The sound flip flops make when you walk, drives me crazy! NEVER! I wont even go in public with my husband when he's wearing them!😂
Skant- absolutely not!
Fair enough 😊
Ooo, I think some of those skants would look good on men too!
❤❤
Thanks for watching 🙂
Growing up in the Midwest, you would wear pants underneath your skirt or dress to walk to school 😂
To keep warm?
I'm older. I was a teacher really back in the day and we couldn't wear pants, slacks or jeans so I used to get behind my closet door and put pants on under my dress or skirt to go out for yard duty in the winter.
What? No bread bags over your shoes. lol.
