Thanks, you did what most don’t and actually played through the song after the lesson. Gives us a chance to play along while observing. Wish more lessons were like this.
I was playing my les Paul And I was messing around And I realized I was playing the opening to little bones I actually had the correct timing on the opening I finger pick And it does have its advantages I was using eb super slinkys great strings but I have a long way to getting it all done right
Good video, but your commentary on the timing of this main rhythm guitar bit could be clearer. I do understand what you're trying to say, but mostly because I had already figured it out on my own. As you mention, the core of the riff alternates between the A and D strings. The critical point to convey to someone who is learning this riff is which string is plucked on the beat - it's the A string. Most people get tripped up because they hear/play the beats as being the note played on the D string. It kind of seems more natural to count it that way - even you yourself fall back into this incorrect rhythm at 8:50 of your video after nailing the intro. To put it another way, consider your A string to be the 'metronome' for the riff. The higher D-string notes are 'syncopated'. It's important for the entire band to understand this in order for everyone to come together after the intro.
