  • Lot's of changes for Zangief with this season 2 patch, but honestly nothing too game breaking just a lot of good quality adjustments that make him seem more functional to me. Let me know what you guys think of the changes.

    Thanks for the video, but the crMK changes are bigger than you think. DR crMK now combos into hellstab, and now it moves forward and has less push back which means whiff punish crMP DRC crMK gets you into hellstab range from much further away than crMP xx crMP. The latter would often leave you too far from hellstab, and/or too far for the first hit of OD lariat for level 3.

      I honestly did not see that and you are right that is a huge buff for Gief, especially in the neutral. Thank you for letting me, and the others, know

      Giefs seems pretty good in S2 as a SF6 newcomer (bought the game waiting for akuma to launch and played Gief for about 100ish games got silver)
      When I was playing him as a noob I didn't understand DR nothing seemed to link even with extra + frames he seemed to do lights into DR into lights maybe dfMP then use meter or do air throw...
      I did better doing raw SPD and saving the meter off DR for OD SPD 😂
      Playing akuma I'm understanding the game a bit more.

      I have execution but I dont understand SF6 systems..
      When I was silver Oro I was about top 80k (maybe just in EU as I said I'm new,) which for 2 sessions seems okay to me...
      I'm like top 200k In SF 6 I know I'm not good

    The general playbook for Gief this season is to be very aggressive. You just get so much meter from blocked attacks and SPDs, that in a 3 round match its possible to get two SA2, or an SA2 + SA3. So don't conserve super meter, use it at every opportunity

    Something I don't understand is why people are saying Charge HP is doing 400 more damage. It ALWAYS did 1400 when fully charged. ALWAYS. That was a misprint on capcom's end.

    CR.HP being 11 frame startup seems like an in between punish tool, idk how the damage is compared but my guess is that you use it when you can’t punish with the 13 frame S.HK or the 22 frame F.HK. Very niche tho

      That was my thought as well but just not entirely sure when, or how often, that situation might come up. I'd have to go the frame data for other characters but I might just watch a ton of Snake Eyez and see when he uses it instead.

      I used it blocking a Ryu cr.hk in a ranked match into drive rush hell stab to lariat. it's a good counter punish if you don't want to spend much drive rush

      They gave it a bigger hit box at the mini patch prior to Akuma, it is a little more consistent now

    Can anyone explain or link a vid;
    How does DR extra plus frames work like general rules, i think scaling comes into effect depending on the button strength?

      I've been hearing people like brain F and diaphone saying lights have different combo scaling and I feel I'm missing a big piece of the puzzle about what would be optimal scaling wise..
      I'm feeling say heavys do 70% med 50% and lights 20% after a drive rush
      And is scaling different off a raw drive rush or a combo...
      I understand SF3/4/5 I just need 6s mechanics explained...
