I believe in Hearthstone more than ever before! The developers have done so much for the game over the past year. Yes, not all things were successful. Yes, Traditional Hearthstone is in crisis, but rotation is a great way to remedy the situation. I really hope to see the main announcement on April 5th.

Or just lower the price of the pre order bundles by 20 dollars.

I stopped last month. I thought about playing every 4months, to get a new deck for free, but actually im not caring anymore. I feel free. I forgot to unsubscribe the HS channels, but it is nice to see what's going on

@@ThomUnderStars yeah, I feel the same. Hs has become an unfun multiplayer solitaire card game (most matches now are against people playing their combos without bortheting about you). That's a no go for me.

This was my absolute favorite channel for Hearthstone stats because you’re so thorough and really care about the player base (even though I’m not f2p). It’s horrible what’s happening in your country, and I’m doing everything I can over here to try and support Ukraine. as a person that returned to hearthstone in february after a long break (ashes of outland) .Just as you mentioned i had to invest 15 euroto buy the last miniset , and felt i need to do a prepurchase of 50 eurofor voyage to use my farmed gold in the last 2 months to buy packs from barrens stormwind altaric . Now i got decent collection to play standard . With the investment of 65 euro and doing all dailys i opened about 65 voyage / 40 barrens/ 40 stormwind /40 altaric packs ... having 75% of rares and all commons. But if i was a F2P returning that didnt want to invest... Id say you would only stabilize your collection next year... after another rotation .
Even though I don't play hearthstone anymore, I completely addore your videos and continue to watch them! MY suggestion to improve mini-sets would be to make them permanently available. I feel like they are a great deal if u can get them. As a player who returned 2 months ago after a multi-year break, i find the amount of legendaries from previous sets daunting.
I stopped in Ungoro, came back for Battleground and literally went back to hots after seeinf all the missing cards.
In my opinion this is a serious problem.

how to make the perfect way to have the perfect economy, have an option to buy a random card of a specific tier ( common to legendary), keep the packs, open up all the cards for play with a lot of balancing and maybe new game settings. get trading working

I pretty much consistently played since Naxx until late last year and there is no chance I am coming back for the reasons you outlined here and the awful mechanics I see coming out of the next expansion.

I really agree with a lot of these points in the video.
I've played Hearthstone since end of 2015 (after Nax) mostly on with some off periods, almost F2P only buying a little content (< $30 total). And it's only with the new reward track that I am no longer able to freely buy the mini-sets, which are very important in keeping up with constructed play.
I still enjoy playing ranked mode a bit, but it's very casual now and it's because I have long since moved past the expectation of having all the meta cards as F2P. It's still a great game with lots of different modes, but a revamped economy system would be very refreshing

As someone who started playing this game about 7 years ago and has actively played during those 7 years maybe 7 months I can say you are spot on. It is really hard game to come back after year or two breaks. I have few times reached the rank 1 or 2 but because I have to grind a single budget deck I haven’t really enjoyed the grind and usually stop playing if the game if I feel that can’t be competitive because of the economy. Mini sets really made it much harder. Let’s hope Microsoft is chances somethings and atleast Microsofts own gamingapartment knows their stuff and are mindfull of investing for the long term for gaining more players and keeping games alive. Blizzard had terrible working environment with terrible lead and it really shows how the game has evolved in recent years. Btw. I have followed this channel right from the start and want to thank you for all your effort you have put in. My type of player has really had a much better experience with the game thanks to knowledge you have been sharing during these years. Hope you all the best and stay safe!

The end made me tear up. I’m sorry you’re going through this and hope you and your family are ok.
The part about mini-sets that I like is that they can shift the metagame without relying on big balance changes. I don't like that it makes the game more expensive, but I think that in general new players and F2P players probably won't be buying old packs anyway. The constant power creep means that newer cards see the most play, so it makes more sense to craft individual missing cards from older sets than to try and get them through packs.
Also from my perspective as someone who recently got back into the game, it's actually pretty accessible. When I stopped there was no duplicate protection, and the only way to get decent amounts of packs for free was to grind arena. I've played now since January to pass level 140 and, for free, got all commons, all rares, half of epics, and 60% of legendaries from Alterac Valley, plus the mini-set. It's obviously not a full collection but I think it's pretty damn good for F2P.
Though that means I have no gold leading into the next set, meaning it will take a ton of time to become competitive again unless I pay up.

I gave up on regular hearthstone a long time ago. I pay my $20 to be able to choose 4 heroes instead of 2 in battlegrounds and that's it. I no longer buy bundles. Blizzard now makes $60 a year off me instead of close to $300. I have enough dust and gold from playing from all these years that if I did want to come back and play regular hearthstone I could just craft whatever decks with the money I spent in the past. Not that I really want to play regular hearthstone anymore I've been having a ball just playing battlegrounds alone.

The (re)entry of players into a cardgame is allways going to be difficult, there is no good way to fix this issue as it's an aspect of collectible cardgames.
It is unrealistic for a new or returning player to be able to collect everything in short notice.
We are allready spoiled by the fact that through lots of grinding we are able to get a full collection for free if we want to.
But having a full collection is pointless, not every card sees play. You don't need a full collection to play the game.
I am not a free to play player but I have lowered the amount I've been spending on this game over the years and with all that has been added recently my collection of cards in standard is larger then ever. I am missing less and less cards from each set and the cards i don't own are usually legendaries not worth crafting anyway as they see little to no play.
Only real issue is 2 fold: No one wants go be forced to play crummy decks and cards may or may not get useful later on.
Also i think it abit silly to say since you can grind alot to cover the collection is good, The more stacked cards and reasons to not play the game gets higher and higher each expansion.
I left during Ungoro Crater as I thought the game was too expensive but this stuff nowadays is insane.
I just, over the last month or so, trying to get back into the game.It is bloody miserable. If hearthstone can’t find a way of getting returning players and new players to enjoy the game it will die.
This is not a collectible card game. It’s a video game where you can “print” cards out of thin air. If it prohibitive for players to get back into the game, it is by design.

I quit hearthstone a year ago and when I recently tried coming back, I realized that unless I want to dump a bunch of money or an insane amount of time, I have no way to catch up (I even had trouble catching up while I was playing regularly).
I switched to Gwent which is really easy to catch up, even for a new players and I personally recommend everyone to switch to any other card game because it's clear that HS isn't going to be better.
Extra note: it often felt like a chore to play HS because if I don't do my quests, if I don't constantly play, if I take a short break from the game, I will miss out on a lot of gold and thus a lot of packs from the upcoming expansion.
I have a lot of respect for Gwent. This is the most loyal collectible card game in the industry.

I stopped playing HS in 2017 but tried to be updated on the game from time to time. You are one of the best channel that doesn't involve gameplay but that propose deeper analysis on the topic. I sincerely hope this won't be your last video especially knowing it's not due to falling out of love with the game but because a dictator decided it was a great idea invading your country.

Yeah I've been trying to get back into the game after missing 2 sets and it's really hard to get good cards I've missed :/ and it's even worse with a new meta defining expansion coming really soon
