what speech describes about food sharing is something that is so important. i remember my granddad (i grew up in england) would always grow an excess of vegetables (tomatoes, onions, beetroot, cabbage, lettuce, rhubarb, peppers, leeks all kinds of stuff) and he would share it around our local area. one of the capitalists' common tools for disempowering the poor is to disconnect us from growing our food, and especially, sharing the food we grow. another tool they use is to disconnect us from each other is to hide our shared experiences. humans, no matter where we are in the world, like to grow food and share the food we grow.
Wasn't expecting to purchase a roasted corn t-shirt this evening but here we are. Speech is legendary! Love the mixtape that dropped today too! So much history, damn..
I was in heaven listening to this - all that history (musical and otherwise)! Arrested Development (and Digable Planets - please do an episode with them!) were my first favorite musical groups as a pre-teen. Later, with “Illadelph Halflife”, I became a loyal Roots fan. I never realized there was a connection between all of you…I guess it just means I have excellent musical taste!
I would love to try his family's roasted corn. Here in Minnesota grilled corn is amazing and a big deal at the State Fair. I can only imagine how good his is.
I really want the other hosts engaged in the interview. It’s mostly Quest 👍🏾 but would love to hear from the others as well. Especially Phonte he has a vast knowledge on music as well.
@thehustleseason why do you have to compare her to Black Thought? She's an emcee. Maybe not one that you like. She's an emcee. Her success came with producing which she still does to this day. Give her flowers.
I have a question, what's the point of Suga Steve included on Questlove's RUclips channel because he never participates in any conversations and always looks bored 😴.

The love I have for Arrested Development can’t be put into words. So appreciate this episode. Musical magic! Great interview! ✨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✨💯💯💯
Thank you Quest for interviewing these southern legends!!
Arrested Development is still the best band in hip hop until this day. Spreading positivity, wisdom and black consciousness
Game changers!! AD opened the door for so many. Glad to see speech finally getting the respect he deserves

Saw them in my city in Reynoldsburg, OH at the Tomato Fest, and AD rocked it. Classic
The fact that Speech didn't know about the award wins adds to Phonte's point.

The voice of Marlon for the J5 cartoon was voiced by Edmund Sylvers.

Bro... saying Missy Elliott isn't an MC is possibly the wildest thing I've ever heard Questlove say.

I’ve wondered the same
When he does chime in it's usually funny. I listen to QLS so much that I'm use to to all their personalities.
