- This past November, 1983 champion Bobby Allison passed away. One of few drivers to excel in both the pioneer and modern era, Allison was one of the best there ever was, winning 85 races from 1966-1988 for no less than 12 different teams. He holds the record for oldest driver to ever win a Cup Series championship (age 45), a record that will likely stand forever due to retirement ages. I hope you enjoy the video, and keep alive the memory of the leader of the Alabama gang.
