I don't know WHY I get so emotional watching these great ships pass through this lock but I DO! Maybe it's because of my tour of Navy duty (1955-1959)! Age is preventing me to travel from Tucson to Duluth but watching this on my computer screen and hearing those great horn blasts on my hi-fi speakers will have to satisfy my longings! Thank you for your work and efforts and stay safe!
Mike, I will always thank you for your service and putting that uniform on! It means a lot to me and so many other people. Much respect. I know what you mean, though, there are emotions that get stirred up in all of us when we see these vessels and hear the horns. Sometimes it’s like the kid and us looking at a big ship go by and also I think it’s because these things arenon-controversial, it’s pure fun and entertainment and joy

It was a fine gathering and event of the boat friends and nerds. Captain Jeff gave a nice salute. It was pure Americana.
I had to smile at your scorching 86-degree temperature. We've been well over 100 degrees here for several days now.
I turn on the AC in my home when the temperature reaches above 86 degrees Fahrenheit and then set it to 82.
On a humorous aside, my wife recently adopted a very talkative African Gray parrot. When my wife remarked that it was 108 outside, the parrot (Sammy) immediately responded, "Oh, I know, tell me about it." (No exaggeration or embellishment).
I knew I would get a lot of people going in the hot states, many people are at 100+ degrees and I said 86 is hot🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍🥵🥵🥵🥵

Hey Mike, and all the Boat Friend Nation! Missed this feed as was in Medora, ND with my son and his family. Get this Mike, it was 105 degrees with high humidity there, and big storms just missed but went on to hammer the Twin cites later on that nite. Medora is a cowboy town, and puts on a fantastic family musical every nite in the summer that is great entertainment for everyone. Fantastic shots of this vessel that got to visit which I know you enjoyed. This ship being part of the ASC line is in great condition for a hard working vessel, and the Captain as a true boat friend enjoying his job and loves to blow the carbon out of the horn. With that high bow which makes it look even more powerful, and would help go thru those storm waves as well. Looks like a beautiful day in Dtown as well. Fair winds and calm seas to this beautiful ship and crew. Later Man,…..,

Hey Mike, thanks for this! I was in Duluth July 1-3, staying at the South Pier Inn and saw you in your boat shooting the Mesabi Miner. It was cool to see you out there. Wife and I stay at South Pier at least once a year and it is definitely my happy place! Keep the videos coming. I love how people from all over the world connect over these boats.

Hi there I'm Carl, I'm a retired over the road truck driver, only been to Duluth twice, I remember a really nice restaurant there that had lots of truck parking, both times we had walleye, both times were in the winter, you're in a really nice place, I watch your channel a lot and enjoy it immensely ❤
Carl, I have a lot of respect for you and your fellow truckers! It’s no easy job and you just like many of these folks in the Maritime industry are away from your family providing a service to the entire country. I’m trying to think which restaurant you might have visited. There are a few that have good trucks parking areas. Did you make it to Duluth during the winter or summer? That makes a big difference with the roads because they can get quite icy going up the hills here. Again, thank you so much for being part of this channel and being about friend. last 3 weeks they have been was to Ontario ,Texas , Saskatchewan , Quebec North Dakota back to Quebec don't know where now ?
They stop and smell the roses along the way at different times of the year Oshkosh various museums ,space centers NHRA drags etc

Truck at the truck stop for a week or two rent a car and are part of the pit crew of one of the dragsters for a week or two during the finals
It's amazing how fast they can turn a broken car around
Any body in any of the competitive racing sports motor bikes cars etc behind the scenes are pure genius !

Nope, I don’t jump up on the wall. I have a long pole that puts it up there. There’s other people that jump up on the wall. I don’t put that blue light up barely ever anymore. I’ve done it one time so far in the last four months.

Sorry I missed the live stream, but I just finished watching it. Beautiful ship! Oh, and I went out today at 3PM (ET), got in my SUV and the internal temp was 104F and the O/S temp was 95. Supposed to be 98 Sat and 99 Sun!
I feel so silly for even mentioning how hot it isn’t Duluth! All of our friends in Arizona, Nevada, and everywhere else, 86° is like air conditioning. Even for you 99° in the sun. That’s no joke.👍⛴️

There’s something that I’ve noticed over the years as well, people that complain every season, so all they do is complain. I’m being real, I will complain all winter long Johan. @@vibewithmike Hahaha! Only got home now (21h00) so I saw your comment and thought I have to reply! I know some of those people too! But I am with you. Winter is not for me. This year was a pretty cold one as well. That being said we here in the North West generally got off rather well in comparison with the Capes who got Frozen and then flooded. Hope you had a great one man! 😁👌

Thanks Mike for youre answer....the temperature here is about 20 Celsius, and every day its raining...last tuesday it was like i was in Florida, one day with temperature above 30 Celsius, but afterwards massive thunder and huge rain....that ship is a beauty ...its a big company here with lots of ships...thanks again and have a great weekend !
