Thank you! I picked up AoE4 recently and figured I would run a few tests and toss a guide up here and there, see how well they perform. I mean, I've seen some pretty bad guides (low effort & bad info) coming from 1k sub youtubers that are getting 20k views in the first few days, so hopefully I can get a little bit of that love too with high effort guides :)
It's nice to see that you're broadening the horizons on your channel by doing multiple games. I mainly played AoE3, not sure whether I'll pick up AoE4 or not but I'll watch this content to help make up my mind a bit more :)
Thank you! I'm not sure how well AoE4 will do on this channel, but I figured I would throw a couple out per month and just see if the algorithm picks it up or not. They don't take nearly as long as Bannerlord guides, so I can squeeze them in without disrupting Bannerlord workflow much. I know what you mean, I played AoE3 way more than 2. I really enjoyed the card system, but I can see why they went without it. This way is much simpler and I think most people out there want simple.
I've been working on the Delhi Sultanate and feel comfortable doing some guides on them now :) I just didn't want to release stuff when I had no clue what was going on like some others do lol I should have something up this week!
Nice! It's a really fun game so far. I would love to get into the competitive multiplayer side at some point. I really miss playing in tournaments and stuff. I used to be really good at total annihilation and supreme commander back in the day, but now i'm getting older and my reflexes aren't what they used to be haha those teenagers could APM me to death lol I plan on doing a couple guides per month for AoE4, but I need more time to get better at it before I feel comfortable making guides for it. I really hated how so many guides popped up on release day or shortly after when it was clear they didn't play the beta and had no clue what they were doing :( I don't want to be that guy lol
Don’t fall into the hole of only posting mount and blade, don’t let the low view count on these kind of videos discourage you from making them. You’ve grown a community of mount and blade but new content like this is always nice!
Thank you Rhino! I appreciate the kind words. I will continue to release a few guides here and there for other games. I'm really interested in AoE4 as I'm a very competitive person and have not played an RTS heavily since Supreme commander. I used to play AoE2 and 3 all the time as well (along with a bunch of other ones). I think the key is to just get a couple months worth of videos out because the algorithm needs to learn that I make content for other things now as well, so I'm not even looking at the view count :) Plus, it wasn't a very searchable video - not too many people are looking for efficient wood gathering tests haha but when I get a bit more experience ill start doing Civ guides and build orders etc. It's going to be so much fun!
@@Strat-Guides I’m not to heavy in the strategic game world and I mainly watched the video because of your neat editing! I don’t even own the game but now Ill be sure to get it and as a bonus I’ll know how to get tons of wood! Thank you! We will see. So far, it's definitely not as good as the Bannerlord stuff. I think RUclips algorithm doesn't promote it like it does the Bannerlord guides so I need to figure out that part first.

My (very limited) understanding of the RUclips algorithm is that trying to branch out at low sub count usually slows the channel growth. I wish you good luck though.
Basically, the algorithm prefers to test a new video on your subs first. Since most of your subs are here for the Bannerlord content, viewer retention will be lower than average, and the algorithm will conclude that the video should not be recommended to a wider audience. If your video is quite liked by your subscribers, RUclips will recommend it to more people.
Yeah for sure, it will take a few videos before I get one that's picked up by the algorithm. This particular topic isn't going to be widely searched for, so I wasn't expecting much but I at least wanted to get some experience running tests for AoE4 and just get a feel for the whole process. It's quite different from Bannerlord. It was a similar feeling like when you start a new job, but you are comfortable with the type of work - you just need to get used to all the little things like where the lunch room is, who to avoid talking to because they waste all your time, etc. :) Thank you! I'm okay if the channel slows down some in the short term, as long as the long term growth from having two sources to pull from is there. I really appreciate the input because I'm still only 3 month into my youtube "career" so it's all just a learning process at this point and I'll take all the advice and tips I can get my hands on!!
