Hello! Someone could help me? I don’t know is it a bug or whatever but I can’t put a relic into monastery - a monk just put close to building and that’s it. It stays close to the wall building so not producing something. I tried to do it playing England and Rus - the same thing…
As a little sidenote: You can also convert neutral units. I was playing a 3v3 recently and one of my allies got destroyed but I could still convert his units to my side giving me 20 addional vills instantly.
I like the idea that if the monk dies the moment the conversion happens, all the units just become neutral. They just stop fighting. War is done, pacifism is their new ideal now.
Having witnessed the death of the holy man, the soldiers were overcome by solemnity and lost the will to fight, spending the rest of their days silently and immovably pondering the effects of their violent actions
I knew that HRE buildings got bonuses from relics. I didnt know they ALSO could get the gold income AND the building bonus at the same time. This will massively change how i store relics
UPDATED ON HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE: A recent patch changed the Regnitz Cathedral. The gold boost is now only double instead of triple, but it is also a global boost that will always apply no matter where the relic is stored. The cathedral itself now also acts as a monastery to produce prelates and research religious techs.
If you ask me people are complaining way too much for a game that is 2 months old, not even 2 months. But I guess that should be expected. Me personally I like the game as is. This game is like a mix of Age 2 and Age 3, and I like it. There's a macro and micro aspect to it. And it's developed by Relic. Any RTS game developed by Relic is bound to be good. And no DoW3 doesn't count.
I think it's a large part because there's so few civs to choose from, so matchups follow expected metas with few viable deviations. Combat being simplified also just goes to reduce viable options too.
@@ArawnOfAnnwn lmfao I don't know I haven't played DoW3. But the reviews are quite something else. I'll leave you to your curiosity and take a look around
I would love to see you do a mathematical breakdown of exactly how Scholars work and how they actually affect tech research times. The tooltips say that they "increase building research time by 12.5%", but there seems to be some kind of diminishing return on each Scholar and, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how that "12.5%" actually plays into it or what the actual equation is for how each Scholar affects the time.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the bonus is multiplicative. So, while the first gives the full 12.5%, because the research is at 100%, the next can't give the same amount. The research time is at 87.5%, so the next scholar only gives his 12.5% on these 87.5%, that's 10.9375%. So your research time is at 76.5625 and the next scholar gives his 12.5% on this and so on and on, every following scholar gives less and less discount on research time. Would still be interesting to see a SotL Video about it. There must be some ideal number of scholars.
@@the_philos5102 It should be 8, I don't really know how it works mathematically, but I believe that if you have 8 scholars the research times are back to normal.

Maybe if it didn't need relics. I think replacing the Burgrave Palace with a landmark that let you train mounted and/or dismounted Teutonic Knights would be pretty cool, and perhaps a viable alternative to Regnitz Cathedral. They could use Marienburg Castle as the landmark.
another little sidenote about Mongols is they can pack up the monastery with relics inside it. If you are worried about your monk dying to a couple enemy units guarding the relic you can send the monastery with the monk and unpack it next to the relic allowing you to immediately place it inside, so even if you lose your monk chances are a small force won't kill your monastery before it makes it back to your base.
Fair warning for anyone unaware. As of the current patch when posting this comment on 12/15/2021, the Relics placed inside Holy Roman Empire Docks unfortunately seem to give the +5% stacking attack speed buff to ALL ships on the map. Including at least enemy ships, though I haven't tested allied ships yet. But yeah, till they patch it, just know that it will be buffing everything, even ships you might not want it to. xD
They did want Relics to play a large role in AoE 2 but failed. Looks like they finally got around to that. Really a lot from that old "dropped ideas" video has been added to 2 or 4 by now. One reason against putting a relic into a HRE fort is the risk of loosing it if overrun. Which was propably the intention.
Relics play a huge role in AoE2 on default settings. The player community however prefer not to play with standard win conditions. There was no fail on the Age2 creators part, it was the player's decision not to use them.
@@DeJake yeah plus with the older unbalanced maps it could be seen as lame, team 1 could have better skill but because the relics spawned more on team 2's side, they hide all 5 relics in the corner, fortify it, and win that way. So relic and wonder victory is always turned off.
@@suddenllybah yeah most of the effects were tiny though. Typically they were half of 1 regular upgrade, e.g. the farming bonus relic was 10% when a normal farm upgrade was 20%. Or giving your ulfsarks 16.6 attack fully upgraded, rather than 16.2 etc. And I'd always get the most outright useless ones, like making temple technologies 20% cheaper, when I only had 3 of them to research. Tithe Barn Costs 500 gold, and you get 100 gold/min with or without it researched, you just need to decide if 30 of the other resources per min per relic is worthwhile to you.
With resources weighted equally it pays back for itself in 6 minutes with a single relic, 3 with 2, and 2 minutes with 3 relics.. That about balances out with Food being infinite with farms, Wood being abundant but cheap and Stone being limited by the map, while Gold is inifite due to relics and trade. That about balances out with Food being infinite with farms, Wood being abundant but cheap and Stone being limited by the map, while Gold is inifite due to relics and trade.
I'd say just always get it if you're in a safe booming position. If you're under pressure the gold is probably better spent on units.
Actually the gold product by a relic is 1 and two-thirds of a gold per second
This is my kind of ASMR.
I tried to put relic in all ways you said inside the monastery but it doesn't work, it's frustrating and annoying
Same thing for me. I can’t understand how to do it…
@@elizavetapanina3540 Ikr 🤣 i almost finished the all campaign, then i will try multiplayer, i am very noob, i played at intermediate
So you still can’t find a way how to do it?
@@elizavetapanina3540 No, i didn't
I’ve found an answer. It stop working when you are loading the saved game.
"Pregnancy cathedral", the pinacle of auto subtitles.
When we gonna have a BOARing video on aoe4?
Have they increased building size ?
for mongols, the images for tithe barn said +20 but you assert +30 as does the wiki. is it different for them?
It's just a tool tip error. Tithe barn gives +30 food/wood, +20 stone for all civs, including Mongols.
He already explained that in the video.
@spirit of the law make more aoe4 content plx
What happened to the intro are you going to make a aoe4 version or you simply abdondend it?
I was so confused on how to convert people haha
Yooo Graphic is so gooood , name your gpu ?
Pagoda generated tax even if it's empty, especially within the area of imperial academy
Is it intended that any building with more than 2 relics inside only drop 2 when they’re destroyed?
Sometimes they drop the relics on top of one another but ive always experienced that the relics are there. You just have to pick them up to see the other relics beneath them. This happens very often when the monastary is on the edge of the map
@@fads90 I’ve never seen more than two? I’ve destroyed monasteries with 5 or 6 relics, and I go to pick them up, and there’s only 2, and the buildings are rarely, if ever at the map edge
@@Thunderbirdmovies I have never seen that. What Prez mentioned happens sometimes tho, that they glitch into eachother. When you pick it up another one appears as if the 3rd and 4th are inside it.
But sometimes they correctly spawn, never that they are gone.
Best info ever. Do you have a life? Or did you develope this this game yourself?
isn't the HRE getting 200 gold per minute from relics, rather than 100 gold (without regnitz)
No, closest thing to that is Delhi getting 200g/min per sacred site
Relic entertainment is Relic. 💗
well I just learned from this video that I should really stop skipping the tithe barns tech as HRE
I am trying this in my next team match
HRE's monasteries get exclusive technologies. Sadly, monks get less attention in AoE4.
I wouldn't say "sadly" 😅. I always hated relics/monk conversions
hre docks are bugged. Never put relics in docks unless opponent has 0 ships
I think relics is based on map like previously, i just 100% had 6 in a 1v1
Relics can bring peace, convert workers, enlighten soldiers, generate wealth, get inspiration, generate motivation, assert dominance, do your taxes, bring bountiful harvests.
That relic building sucks cause even if you destroy the building the relics stay in... That are 3 relics gone they might need to fix that up
OK, not gonna lie, they better make that neutral Relic glitch a feature.
I asked Memb, if we are going to watch on stream your video, which just dropped, and he said, "Not, until SoTL gives me 1000 dollars to promote him", of course joking :D
He is always on the move for cash :D
lol love that guy
How do you eject a relic from a building in AOE4?
Just right click the monastery with a monk who isn't already carrying a relic.
Sweet
Very good
Sad that the intro is still missing
Interesting 🤔
HRE towers??? You left that out.
If only you could over pop yourself with relics lol.
That'd be pretty insane haha
1080 and 480 can play but 720 cant! wtf?!
As ghe Holy roman emperor i call them all!
