- All Aboard the Yorkshire Express goes behind the scenes at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway; taking us back in time to the golden age of steam. This year they're celebrating their fiftieth anniversary and we join them as they welcome coach trips, wedding parties and train spotters alike in what they hope will be the railway's busiest year yet.

"This is your office everyday..its brilliant" ...that is an understatement! Beautiful!
I live in Pickering. The NYMR is absolute magic!
The bridge section on the @13:25 left carrying the running track has now been replaced as have several others as the railway winds up a vally criss crossing a stream with many bridges on it.
Do you know Ronnie Pickering?
family holidays staying at the camping coaches in goathland station.....loved it.......used to travel all day up to pickering and down to grosmont.........lol...still have a digital watch my dad bought for me at pickering market when i was 12......47 now
I hadn't thought about trains in forever, had no idea I needed to watch this. I'm so glad I did. Just a big happy-making thing!
Absolutely fantastic. As a Railway fan & a Yorkshireman in South Africa. It put a tear in my eye.. thank you for sharing.🍺 cheers!
At first glance I thought that was Johnny Morris
Lovely again as we are binge watching while the weather is stopping our Model Engineering Workshop extension. And yes I have a Black Five Tender model sat in our living room. Over the years at Reading Model Engineers we have had many Young who have gone onto the Full size. Also many older who have been high up in the Railways come and enjoy play Trains. Saw the Scott at the Midhants several years ago. Love David and Lily.
The Yorkshire Steam Railway: love louis shirly

From the very beginnings of steam & then it’s heritage & preservation, I, as a steam enthusiast love this program because of the. Where & when involved…!!
A well made and interesting documentary. Thank you.

20142 & 20189.are going to be at the NYMR Diesel Gala
Didn’t know I needed this, but made me jump giddily and onward to the next episode… I love their enthusiasm for all things locomotive. These people I would love to hang around and get to know.
(*also: One thinks there are a lot of Autistic’s here. Got a sick spidey-sense, as a fellow late diagnosed one whom never ever fit into the norms of the world.)
I hope they survive the pandemic somehow, I plan to visit next year...
They were given £2m by the government a few weeks ago.
they are funded by the government aswell they will reopen
as long as there's people who love steam railways will always survive
@@AJspotting will they be doing normal services or will it be the Optimist again?
@@926.repton there looking to reopen in april they will possibly keep covid restrictions in place but there hoping to return to normal service in the summer when all restrictions are lifted
but it all depends on what happens in the next few months

A group of lads broke into a train carriage in Pickering few years back and stole some antique lamps
Any new videos in 2021?
Yay
Will you be uploading the new episodes to RUclips for American viewers
I hope to see any scrapped engine rebuilt!
The Royal Scot is 91 years old
Bertie Blower is typical of his ilk. Speaking as a former Guard with British Rail, we used to have to put up with TTIs like him. Overbearing, far too officious and always ready to stick their nose in where it isn't wanted. He reminds me of Reg Laight, a Sheffield Guard who became a TTI, he was always looking to have a go with anyone, be it staff or passenger alike. He was always ready to take money from people at every opportunity, while the majority of us tried to cut costs for people.
It would be such a shame to see this railway closed down
Anyone know what date this was filmed?
2017 I think
LAURA STANGEWAY, DID SHE ARRIVE AT THE RADIO STATION IN THE NICK!!!!!!!OF TIME?
I understand that Erica the engine shed cat has now retired?
HECK, Amtrak is always DELAYED here in America... Ahhhhh, PROGRESS !!! 😁😁😁
The Railway Children 1970.
R.I.P Bernard Joseph Cribbins 1928 - 2022.
He played the role of Mr Albert Perks the Oakworth Station Porter.
I wish we could bring steam engines back into production but the big Problems are there not eco friendly Plus we don’t have all the skills anymore to make Steam engines maybe it time to bring skilled labour back to the UK and Bring back British rail and research to make a modern steam engine that works, looks, sounds but with a more ECO twist
dont have the skills? what about Tornado built in the 2000s? or several other examples of brand new steam engines ?
The issue isn't making steam traction eco friendly because it's more easy converted to bio fuel than a diesel locomotive bit they're just so terribly inefficient and soooo expensive to run. This is why it's crucial that we keep the preserved ones running however we can. I love them too but they're just too old for modern use. Imagine the sheer amount of fuel we'd need to run just a simple commuter train. It'd cost the tax payers such an absolute fortune.
@@evelynkinson5524 I was thinking more about Tours so people in the future can step back in to the past
Harry Potter train?
I've been on that heritage line, nice things to see around the stations, but was dissapointed at the scenery, as you're in a valley most of the time, and can't see much scenery!
Why's the train wrong line at Leversham?
I don't know which bit you're referring to but the down platform at Levisham is Bi-Directional.
can indian can get a ride in this
Some appalling continuity lapses throughout this programme.
If gj by e we jy term
