I built this kit and the convertible when it first came out back in 1968.Thank you Round 2 for bringing these kits back so us old guys can have the fun of building them again.
i want 3 of these to do 3 different versions, unfortunatley i live in Canada so it will be challenging to get them, we dont have modeling stores as our US neibours.
This looks wicked! Like it's ready to stage. Man, I love your build videos! It's just too bad you have to partially conceal the beautiful interiors! Don't ever stop! You have a perfect presentation style and editing!!!!
The 1st NEW car my dad ever purchased was a blue 2dr '68 Plymouth with a white vinyl top,...BEAUTIFUL CAR!,... and as you said, the fog lights were yellow bulbs with clear plastic covers. He purchased the car from a neighbor's Chry/Plym dealership, and within several months when the yellow bulb died, the dealership replaced the fog light covers with yellow covers and clear bulbs. He asked our neighbor "Why?", and as our neighbor was the head of the service department, he mearly told my dad, "Why do you care?". So now you know why YOU painted the front fog light covers clear/yellow: your Mopar service department head was a smart ass ! 😊😊
I wonder how many Mopar kits are left to reissue; Round 2 did a great job to keep Mopar fans happy lately! I think the '69 Charger 500 remains to be seen again, and IIRC there was rumors about the 1972 Charger coming back again soon?
Great looking kit. Excellent build. Everything looks great. I will definitely get one to go with the convertible kit I bought last year. Thanks for sharing.
That's your sweetest looking build to date That color is like a more sedate scat pack color and those custom wheels would look tight af on other Mopar kits
Never built a mpc kit and I don’t want to but this one’s intriguing cos it adds details I don’t see in most mpc kids I don’t want them to be complicated I just want them to be worth the money and time I don’t want to spend money a build something I could just buy pre built in a box
Got my model ordered today. I'm just as excited to build this model this coming Spring as I was when I 1st built this model in 1968 ! I even remember the 1st real '68 R/T (maroon) I saw out on I-70 in Missouri when it passed us running over 100mph ! Never had seen a car going that fast in Virginia !
another great build lookin forward to this un. now I am not complaining but wish they would have given a four speed option but I guess thats why you have "parts boxes"
nice build, i cant help myself but you know the track wouldn't let you run with the gaping hole in the trunk, they'd make you seal the hole because fire happens. it would have been really cool if you had a street sign covering the hole lol
This one came together nicely - I like how you've mixed the stock parts with the racing ones, but in all honesty those Round 2 decal sheets are so nice you have to find a way to use them, even if you didn't really want to build a racing car to begin with. As you used the Q-tips, I remembered an ad I used to see as a child that said Q-tips could be used for model car building. What you said about how they could handle the rear end treatment via a decal makes perfect sense; about 30 years ago the AMT 1993 Firebird kit had the taillights as a decal with a clear piece to cover them. Maybe they'll include that the next time this kit comes out?
Outstanding build for an outstanding kit, I'm soooo glad they're reissued some of the old mopar kits, And this kit can be made into a 68 dodge super bee too with some work, but I'm not a fan of the promo style chassis, you can use the 68 Roadrunner or 69 GTX etc, to remedy that, let's keep our fingers crossed for a 71 challenger and a 72 charger rally. Keep up the great work Chris.
Hi Chris, that certainly was a great build, would many law enforcement agencies have used these cars? I would like to build a Police car some day, very bedt regards from Australia
That's a cool build. By the way, since this product is not imported into Korea, I will have to buy a monogram 1967 model imported into Korea and paint it blue.
Stunning build Chris! I've gotten back into model building since finding your channel. I built a "Smokey and The Bandit" Tribute. The AMT Kenworth 925, Fruehauf 48ft beaded trailer and the 77 Pontiac Firebird (Smokey And the Bandit edition). The truck had it's difficult moments but it turned out really well. I purchased a full decal set online of the Stage Coach robbery and truck stripes. I chose to use Rustoleum Black primer, Gloss Black and clear coat. These were paints I've seen you use before. The gloss black took a very long time to harden and when I did apply the clear coat- disaster stuck and orange peeled it all. I've never used these paints before and don't know what I did wrong. In one of you video's you said you use a dehydrator to speed up the drying time. What can a modeler do if they don't have one? Another thing I need yet to try is the floor polish clear coat. I seen the video that you did on a pickup truck- it still scares the crap out of me to do it. Awesome stuff Cheers Earl
I'm from 🇦🇺 and I have never seen a trailer with a drop axle, here no tow hitch is allowed to pass under a fuel tank it's just illegal everywhere. Small differences between countries can be interesting
I'm building the same kit and currently having a problem with the front and rear wheel assemblies. The plastic wheel pins for the front are too big and I had to glue the wheel back and rim to the tires because they wouldn't stay in place. The rear axle is too short and too small.
Has anyone ever told you that you sound like the guy that does the SpaceX vidoes? I hear you talking about MECO, SECO and landing.... Killer looking build. I can't wait to get that kit. I have some HOK Pavo Purple i've been holding on too for a while....it will look good on that car.
I'm looking to buy this one, and but the 70 Dodge Super bee for the chassis, the chassis for the 68 would be good for other Dodge projects, just find the chassis for the 70 Super Bee better is all
So glad you mentioned the torture of doing an accurate Coronet 500 or R/T tail light panel. My TWO niggles are if you are doing an R/T or 500, the side scallops are trimmed in chrome - they easily could make 4 little chrome fingernail scallops on the sprue, and to me the tail light panel should be separate chrome piece allowing you blackwash it like 500 or R/T or paint it body color like lower trim Coronets. Other than that you KILLED it, especially that pesky rear panel!! . '68 500 was my first car at 18 in '71, 2nd was brand new 'Cuda in '74. In NE I had big fat snow tires mounted on Rallye Wheels on the Coronet - looked cool ! LOL 👀
I’ve built 1 off testers kits of cars I though we’re ugly better than amt kits I thought would be coool Amt needs to step up their quality game more so than have built in axels in their chassis if I wanted a shelf car if just buy one I build model cars for the detail and enjoying building them not because I’ll remember them sitting on a shelf actually I give them away and I’ve even took the time to cut out the built in axels to put in something that looks real its 2023 not 1967
Looks amazing, I would buy this, who else would?
I HAVE TO GET ONE OR 2
Yep, it looks like a very nice kit!
I'd buy that for a dollar 💵 😂
I built this kit and the convertible when it first came out back in 1968.Thank you Round 2 for bringing these kits back so us old guys can have the fun of building them again.
Yes, I agree!!!!!!
Looking forward to getting this kit!!! 👍👍
This is a kit that had been on my « hope to get one day » list for the last 30 years.
Awesome build
A friend of mine found an original release of this kit and built it.. I've been looking forward to this kit being available for years.
Enjoyed the build. I like the trailer included with the kit.
i want 3 of these to do 3 different versions, unfortunatley i live in Canada so it will be challenging to get them, we dont have modeling stores as our US neibours.
That's terrific! I'm going to have to get one of those!
👍👍
This is gonna be popular. Many thanx.
Wow Chris so awesome you knocked it out of the park!!
Another fun build to watch, and I always like the extras on these kits.
Great job Criss! I like how you bring out all the details on your models. Also the reviews, you always show what's in the kits and what's not.
I'm excited about that kit! Yours turned out great Chris! 😎👍
Great review, build and presentation.
Wow I'm absolutely impressed Chris! Great job!
Another excellence build and presentation Chris! Great color choices! I have been looking forward to this release !

Nice build review Chris. It is great to see this kit available once again.
Nicely built sharp detailing like the blue color

You are the best models channel around, for some reason your channel is the only one i can watch, probably because you are a great presenter and host😊
Wow, thank you!
Great looking kit. Excellent build. Everything looks great. I will definitely get one to go with the convertible kit I bought last year. Thanks for sharing.
This is the car they borrowed the Charger 500 grille from😊
That's your sweetest looking build to date
That color is like a more sedate scat pack color and those custom wheels would look tight af on other Mopar kits

I love that Pure Blue paint. Love the videos.

I will put a metal Axil on the front on mine when i get one , Great build
The more detailed chassis from the 69 Mopar kits fit right underneath this as well as the 90s pro street ones too
came out good as always cant wait too get this one
Awsome job ..kinda of a Petty Blue!
Looks great Chris!
Awesome job mate👍
another great build lookin forward to this un. now I am not complaining but wish they would have given a four speed option but I guess thats why you have "parts boxes"

Turned out really awesome ! I'd Better finish my original before this one hits the shelves .😀 Thanks Round2 and HPI Guys!

The silver sharpie looks a lot easier to use than applying the bare metal sheets to trim
Excellent build Chris! Looks like a great kit. I really love all the options and the trailer.
I will definitely get two
Excellent build as usual 👍! I have been waiting for this kit to build a replica of the 1:1 that I owned back in the day.
Hi Chris, that certainly was a great build, would many law enforcement agencies have used these cars? I would like to build a Police car some day, very bedt regards from Australia
Interesting seeing a drop axle on the trailer
Just finished the convertible, I must say everything went well in construction. Now if they would only release that 71 Demon 340 kit.
I just bought three of them from Walmart tonight.
Beautiful kit, really surprised to see the police and fire equipment. I bet the aftermarket comes up with a 4 door sedan body for this kit.
Looks awesome!
Looks good sir!
Looks awesome as always Chris. I'm going to have to get myself one.
Would have been funny if you painted that trailer orange n white 😂
Plus it would be cool to make a drag version police or fire chief car from this
Hi Chris that Turned Out GREAT 👍 👍 Also you haven’t did a weathered kit lately looking forward to one soon.
Awesome build! Diggin that blue. What paint is that?😅
I think that’s my next build, I just did a 67 Chevelle😊
That's a cool build. By the way, since this product is not imported into Korea, I will have to buy a monogram 1967 model imported into Korea and paint it blue.
Came out beautiful.
I have a question, What is that marker you used to do the window trim?
a silver sharpie thats what i use now thanks too his videos
@@tonymadia4554 OK sounds good, Thank you, I'll see it I can find it on Amazon
Well goes with out saying that I have to get 3 of them!! What's my name!!... Mopar or no car!
HeII.... I'll buy 4 or 5 of them !!!! 🤪🤪 😊
@@TOOL_MARKSyes sir!

when does this hit the shelfs Chris ?
I'm from 🇦🇺 and I have never seen a trailer with a drop axle, here no tow hitch is allowed to pass under a fuel tank it's just illegal everywhere. Small differences between countries can be interesting
They still do with all the drag and drive events they have nowadays the drag cars all pull trailers
The custom wheels are Fenton Super Sharks.
I'm building the same kit and currently having a problem with the front and rear wheel assemblies. The plastic wheel pins for the front are too big and I had to glue the wheel back and rim to the tires because they wouldn't stay in place. The rear axle is too short and too small.

That's a new one, haven't been told I sound like that guy yet. Thanks!
What kind of cement are you using?
Chris uses Plastruct Bondene.
When will this be released?
Pity they don't do some of the trailers as separate kits.
I'm looking to buy this one, and but the 70 Dodge Super bee for the chassis, the chassis for the 68 would be good for other Dodge projects, just find the chassis for the 70 Super Bee better is all
Did any body have trouble with the kit trailer &truck trailer axles to short
Do you ever paint your models black

Extra value is what you get. When you buy Coronet.
Like 1968 all over again...
