Assalam alaikum Sheikh. Please clarify this matter to me. You mentioned that, the amount of provision a person has is not indicative of that Allah is pleased with that person. But in Surat Nuh, Allah mentions that by making repentance and asking for forgiveness, opens doors of provision. Else where in the Quran, Allah mentions that those who are conscious of Allah, Allah will make things easy for them.
So how do we reconcile these two? This is a question I have been battling for while my life. JazakaAllah khair

assalamu alaykum brother/sister, for quite a while this confused me too. One may wonder why some people were given this blessing and not those who truly needs and deserve it but it was a 1-dimensional view basis because we can never really know the whole life story of a person; he/she may look unbothered and possesses luxuries but we also don't know what was taken from him/her. When it comes to blessings, the litmus test is to see if it makes a person closer to Allah or far away from Him. If one is blessed and grateful and recognizes that all of it comes from Allah then that truly is a blessing however if wealth leads to arrogance and heedlessness then it's a test. I guess that's why provision is not enough of a unit to say a person's status with Allah because its not the presence of it but the recognition of where it all comes from. Jazakallahu khayran
