100% and which is why music is disallowed in Islam - just try an experiment - what do people imagine when music prevails - mostly it will be haram thoughts so is similar to the effects of alcohol - you lose control of yourself.

I don’t get any affect from music. It’s mostly too loud or too boring. Probably, my mind is so polluted that even music can’t have an effect on me. For me mesic is nothing special or significant. A harmony of music and voice can give me some joy sometimes, but if the meaning is bad, I can’t listen to it and close.
I just usually need something on my background, because I’m scared of solitude

that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."

I enjoy music, and I write music, inshaAllah as a means of keeping me closer to him, because in many of my songs, I praise Allah and call to Him, inshaAllah it will be a means for myself and any listeners to bring us closer to Him, and may He forgive us, guide us, and have mercy on us. In this way, consuming or generating music is like consuming or making food... it should always be good and healthy, and we should always remember Allah in the midst of it. I see Islam as an oasis for humanity. All the movies and illusions we live through can be aligned with Islamic teachings, especially the inner struggle, the pursuit of freedom, and the search for love and desire. These elements are often manipulated into a relationship between god and the self. And it’s not personal.
But the thing i don’t understand why we claim things as the truth as the solid and that’s how it is , rather than actually get awakened.

I can't concentrate on the meaning while doing Namaz due to my Afantasia condition , I put the ear buds on , in the back ground is the instrumental music & my mind get 100% focus on the meaning of the words without distraction & I easily do my 5 times prayers with understanding what I am saying & it works this way for me .

@@abid583indThat reasoning is flawed and the comparison is inaccurate. Faith is not like medicine, nor will any scholar take responsibility for my actions before Allah. It is a personal journey that must be grounded in reason and a sincere search for the truth. Blindly following scholarly opinions is discouraged in Islam. It is each individual's duty to use intellect and discernment to arrive at the truth. There are numerous examples of scholars failing in this regard-one prominent case being the early opposition to the printing press. Scholars resisted a tool that eventually became instrumental in spreading knowledge, showing that they too can err. Music can be used for cultural preservation, unity and mental wellbeing.
Btw over the counter medicines don't need a doctor's prescription😀

@@DrShahidRehan bringing another flawed argument to call my argument flawed is quite genius.
The reason scholars of the time opposed or despised or expressed their views and predicaments to not support the printing press has proved to be not wrong considering we have produced gems like the Satanic vers, Mein Kmpf and so many more, all to ultimately cause great wars and millions of able bodied men lose their life's to satisfy the whims and fancies of the few who sit at the top.
Newspaper was the first mass manipulator tool used to create hatred amongst otherwise tolerant groups of people from different ethnicity and faiths.
While also allowing subtle and planned institutionalisation of entire generations for the servitude of just few who then controlled what could be printed or not printed in newspapers.
So, coming back to the point being music, putting some beauty and melody in words with some voice is not haram but using different objects and instruments as a means to indulge people is not permissible.
Music does have its effects on the emotional and decision making ability while you actively listening to it for support or just relate to the melody or what is termed as 'vibe' of the music.
So, in conclusion, music of today is more haram than the music that would been a few hundred years back, also there's very tiny part of it that might just be not haram but definitely not recommendable for the entire population.

@ Sheikh Hamza Yusuf. Nothing is good or bad in itself; but how it is used makes it good or bad. Some obvious examples are a knife, a sword, poison, food, water and so on. As far as I know the Quran does not specifically say that music is bad. People sang with joy when the Prophet arrived in Madina. Amir Khusro had made monumental contributions to music in the Indian diaspora. So this blanket statement that music is haram does not seem to be right.

    Surat Ar Rahman
