  • In this video, I’m reviewing Serge Lutens La Couche du Diable, a fragrance that offers a truly unique wear experience. I’ll dive into how this scent transitions on the skin, opening with dark, resinous accords of dried fruits and incense before evolving into a warm, smoky base with hints of oud and amber. It’s a fragrance that shifts and transforms as you wear it, creating a mysterious, almost devilish allure that feels both deep and sensual. If you love fragrances that tell a story and keep you guessing, La Couche du Diable is one you need to explore. Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more in-depth fragrance reviews!

Found your channel only last week and here I am ranking you as one of the top reviewer. It’s just something calm and elegant about your reviews. Big fragrances houses need to notice you and send you products for better reviews than 90% of popular reviewers.

Thanks for the comment! Love when people stumble upon my small channel and join the team.
I'm not really interested in getting sent anything as it would create some bias in the reviews :)

I've never heard a fragrance described as a fever dream before but I am very intrigued by this house after sampling La Fille de Berlin, it has this very dark rose quality to it I haven't smelled rose in such a way, and I remember a blood accord (unlisted).
I just found your channel and I like how you describe fragrances as your experience of wearing them. Anyone can go and read notes but not many people have a descriptive talent and from the couple I've watched I've seen you have really lived in these fragrances, how you use visual and even sound descriptors in an evocative way, so I subscribed.
This might be offside but you might consider wearing more dress shirts in black and dark jewel colours, I had the random thought that dress shirts with cufflinks or a dress watch might compliment the more elegant direction of your channel - best to you

Thank so much for the wonderful comment. I indeed really lean into the wear experience as perfume to me is all about the story.
Thanks for the suggestion, I might spice the attire up once I upgrade the production quality 👍

Serge Lutens is a house I’ve yet to try. I am interested in Ambre Sulton, Chergui, Ecrin De Fumee, and Santal Majuscule. For some reason I just haven’t bought them. Today might be a good day to get one.

Excellent and straight to the point as always; thank you Daniel. Should you have a chance, you could sniff Fumerie Turque and Arabie, I bet you will love them both.Btw, which other Lutens are in your collection? I hope you will talk more about this brand in the forthcoming future. Cheers.

Thanks very much for an interesting presentation of this perfume. Serge Luten has been on my radar for a while, and as yet, I haven't even sampled it.
I'm hoping that you will give one of your great takes on the house of Rubini perfumes. In particular, Odenaturae.

Rubini is on my list, just not really available around me; I'll check it out soon enough :)

I always recommend Serge Lutens to friends who want to get into "niche" (combination of price and elegance of the house).
Easy to understand tho unique and fun, Never disappoints.

Love this! It is weird and totally unique. I actually blind bought it and was super happy. I heard another reviewer describe it as “singed labdanum” and that’s perfect. I get some orange, rose and cinnamon right off the top but I don’t smell oud at all. Maybe it’s doing some work behind the scenes. I always felt like it just faded quickly, but now I will have to pay more attention to see if I can replicate your experience.
Just blind bought Ecrin de Fumée. SL is difficult to sample here and the price was so low I figured it was worth a try. Wonder if you’ve tried that?

    • @SeldomlyOften
      @SeldomlyOften  7 дней назад

@@DaveNYC the oudiness in here is the balsamic medicinal type, it hides well in the labdanum resins.
I have not tried that one! I need to go slow on SL or I’ll end up buying them all 😜
