Ahhhh, the 1950's...A whole treasure trove of glorious good/bad flicks. Very much looking forward to the next nugget from this new vein of gold you have opened up.
That Star Trek: Next Generation plot-line was the best one of the entire series. Action-packed, with an incredibly gory ending that was never repeated. Not even close. Sadly, it was a one-off.
“Let me have a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper”. Early product placement, I guess… The most unbelievable part of this movie is politicians having brains.
I read "The Puppet Masters" as a kid back in the 60s. The representation of the bugs in this movie is pretty much how I imagined them in the book. I was a weird kid.
Cecil! I'm Loving these "Atomic Age" horror / scifi reviews. I grew up watching these wacky, goofy, cheesy as hell & a hell of a lot of fun B /movies. Keep them coming. REALLY ENJOYING IT!!! If possible down the line can you review "The Flesh Eaters" 1964. Its way over the top!! thanks.
AI were a constant presence at drive-ins all over America. And though a lot of their stuff was pretty cheesy, they also introduced the world to Jack Nicholson. So there is that. Probably the most interesting of their stuff was "Beast With a Million Eyes", where the monster was played by a guy in sunglasses. But if took them off....
(3:28) Security guard shoots the wall, is more like it. 😉 Seriouslythough, they likely did that for safety. It still makes for a funny shot. Heh. "Shot." 😜
As a person who absolutely enjoys playing Assassin's Creed games, I can attest that you can easily miss a door that can be very important to the story😜
Brains for dinner Brains for lunch Brains for breakfast Brains for brunch Brains at every single meal, Why can't we have some guts? OI! OI! OI! Brains are all we ever get at this rotten fucking place, Brains are all we ever get, why can't we have a change of pace! Brains for dinner Brains for lunch Brains for breakfast Brains for brunch Brains at every single meal, Why can't we have some guts? Why can't we have some guts? Why can't we have some fucking rotten guts?
I'll always remember this movie because it was one of the B-Films featured in the opening to Ernest Scared Stupid. Amusingly, even though the Ernest movie itself isn't too frightening, the opening is also terrifying even violent B-horror movie clips set to unsettling organ music O_O
And an older Edwin Nelson appeared in another MST3K classic, Riding with Death. I’m sure you were going to mention that but then decided to “Leave Robert Denby alone!”
You're on a roll here, Cecil!! Keep up the good work!! Never heard of this one, but it looks pretty good & is an AIP film. I love AIP films!! More classic, black & white, horror & sci fi films!!!
Maybe you can find it for me, but when I was 9 in 1979, the drive-in showed horror flicks on Friday nights, and one of them centered around two guys who are employed to guard and transport a young woman to a convent. During their journey, they encounter bad weather and have to take shelter in an old haunted castle--filled with brain-eating zombies and vampires (or something like that). One of the men was killed by a brain-eating zombie. The woman survived and was taken to her destination, but she had had a nervous breakdown and now spends her days sitting in a rocking chair, staring silently out of a window in a tower. If you know of this movie, please review it so I can put my brain to rest. Thank you.
Ed Nelson's character seems a lot like his character in Night of the Blood Beast. As for the creatures, they would have looked better if they looked like the monsters from Fiend Without a Face.
It always makes my day or night better when GoodBadFlicks uploads a new video. Thank you Cecil.... Hey at least they didn't blame heavy metal for destroying brains. 😂
I have always rather liked this movie a lot. It's short and pretty straight to the point. Was not till years later did I learn about the puppet master ripoff of the book controversy. I got to ask, where did you find such a good picture quality if this. Most copies I have seen were vhs rips and stuff.
Love it when you cover classic horror B-movies oh there's this one horror movie where the monsters eat people's bones (I keep forgetting what the movie is called) edited update Island of terror from 1966 I caught the last 20 minutes of it and never forgot about it (just the name LMAO)
What? NO! "The one later film must be a rip-off of that one other film I saw" does not work. There are HUNDREDS of similar films, TV shows, and books that could be considered similar to the film Alien. I can guarantee that Dan O'Bannon saw and read MANY of the them growing up, and Alien is NOT derivative of any one film.
@@princeofcupspoc9073 O'Bannon admitted that It! The Terror from Beyond Space was a source of inspiration when he wrote Alien. Of course, it wasn't the only thing that inspired him.
2:47 at first I thought the main character shot the guy on right 3:48 security guard's gun looks to be pointed nowhere at the mayor but he gets shot anyways
Ahhhh, the 1950's...A whole treasure trove of glorious good/bad flicks. Very much looking forward to the next nugget from this new vein of gold you have opened up.
It's always a good day when we get a good bad flicks episode!
It's a good bad day
We have too little good days
Time for a marathon.
A little less bad day?
I agree.
don't shoot me.
There's something about the incidental music of black & white films that is simultaneously cosy and eerie.
That Star Trek: Next Generation plot-line was the best one of the entire series. Action-packed, with an incredibly gory ending that was never repeated. Not even close. Sadly, it was a one-off.
I heard they abandoned the idea because Gene Roddenberry hated this episode.
Was that the one with the guys head melting?
“Let me have a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper”. Early product placement, I guess…
The most unbelievable part of this movie is politicians having brains.
I think it was dubbed in from Smokey and the Bandit. Jackie Gleason spoke that line in the movie.
Buford T. Justice of Texas.
The Puppet Masters from the 90's is a GoodGoodFlick!
No, it's a complete piece of garbage. I'd rather watch Brain Eaters any day.
@@princeofcupspoc9073 lol maybe, I was 12 or 13 when I saw it and just remember liking it at the time.
I really like the 90s puppetmasters, love sutherland in it.
Strangely enough the horror geek mentioned it repeatedly yesterday
I read "The Puppet Masters" as a kid back in the 60s. The representation of the bugs in this movie is pretty much how I imagined them in the book. I was a weird kid.
That security guard was waiting for that moment for years! "One of these days..i'll show him"
Thank you for the Misfits reference! WHY CAN’T WE GET SOME GUTS!!!!
Came here to say this, you beat me to it!
I very much appreciate all of the Misfits lyrics.
I always thought when the parasite latches on the the professors arm was hilarious. His reaction is just so goofy
Oh man! I lost it at the Bufford T. Justice line about the Diablo sandwich.
Me too. Cecil should do an exploration of "Smokey And The Bandit".
"You summbitch!" 😂
Loving the 50s movies. And love the Misfits references.
That whole album was a 50s movie reference in and of itself.
Love the Misfits reference, it's what I immediately thought of when I saw the title. This movie does look to be shot well.
“Nightfall in broad daylight” is a convenient way to tell the audience the sun for this planet doesn’t set at night.
Good Bad Flicks pops up in my notifications…..it’s gonna be a good day.

the notification alone had the ol dopamine receptors a-flashin'!
I used to have a print of this poster but never saw the movie. Thanks for doing the hard work for me!
I was just thinking..."You know....This show definitely needs more Oi!"
And you, good sir, delivered as always. Much love to you.
I just bought this on DVD. I'm anticipating it's schlocky, schmaltzy, sickly sinister vibe. Pure, moldy cheese always tastes best!
getting my beer ready.....thanks for the work you put into this Cecil !....hugely appreciated!!
Wow, the size dimensions of the parasites' ship just happen to come to round numbers in human measuring units!

brains at every single meal WHY CAN"T WE HAVE SOME GUTS!?
I'll say this about this movie.
It LOOKS a hell of a lot better than most other monster movies from this era. Almost looks like a music video.
(3:28) Security guard shoots the wall, is more like it. 😉 Seriouslythough, they likely did that for safety. It still makes for a funny shot. Heh. "Shot." 😜
I LOVE Robert A. Heinlein, and REALLY LOVE that you referenced him that way. Read that exact copy of the book too, lol.

"Back when you could smoke in a hospital" - don't you know, Doctors prefer Chesterfield cigarettes!
I thought 4 out of 5 doctors recommended Camels??
And if you're expecting, "Have a Lucky instead of a sweet!"
Buford T. Justice was in a rush, even back then!🤣🤣🤣🤣

The Twilight Zone!"
Too-ROO-roo-ruh, Too-ROO-roo-ruh...
That guard was actually just coming in to assassinate the mayor. The timing was incidental.
Great start to the weekend
I used to think Cecil was a well put together gentleman. Now I'm starting to think he's a bit of a Misfit.
Ha! Worth the wait, Cecil. American International Pictures, certainly quality. Thanks.
The poster of the movie does look horrifying! I like it! I usually hate horror remakes. But if this got remade, I be excited.

A Misfits reference to end it? Well played sir.
These trenchcoats are hilarious 😂 How did people fold themselves into their cars back then??? Men were basically walking cupboards!
Helps that the cars were huge

I know it was spelled Cole but I just kept thinking Professor coal and he's surrounded by smoke 😂
FANTASTIC stuff as always!!!
The Misfits references were a killer bonus!
Leonard Nimoy with a beard?
So this is set in the mirror universe!
Damn, was not expecting to hear Sheriff Buford T Justice, shit that was funny as hell
So glad your covering mote 1950s movies. Such classic cheese

Some more 1950's "teenagers" waiting for that social security check on Monday.
Cecil, it was unexpected but completely welcomed that you made a Misfits reference I was grinning ear to ear c:
The most violent version still goes to Star Trek: The Next Generation, where a man's head explodes.🤣
I was looking at the cast and Leonard Nimoy was in it.
Great review! Love the Misfits references!
"Brains for Brunch". There is a great movie title
What if The Puppet Masters but everyone is really dim?
Brilliant!
This is what I needed today…
Ah, Good Bad Flicks upload, the perfect remedy at the end of a long, frustrating day. Well, that and a gin and tonic doesn't hurt....

Island of terror from 1966
I caught the last 20 minutes of it and never forgot about it (just the name LMAO)
Hang on the security guard shoots the mayor? A) He missed him by a mile and B) what with? That gun fired smoke.
I think we all need to be baked in order to watch this
Buford vs The Brain Eaters.
"One attacked my son, but starved to death!"
This movie was made for MST3K
The BADASS Intro is Back!!! 🤘🤟
Roger Cormen ripped off the Puppet Masters twice. There was also his 1956 It Conquered the World with Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef
(9:35) Which was set up and...never mentioned again. 😜
Ah yes, the menace of robutts...
Yes! Cecil!
Thanks Cecil, you confirmed my longstanding theory about the origin of Tik Tok culture...

To get to the guts, you need to grind the corpse!
This is the most important video ever made

Yeah, Puppet Masters for sure.
