The funny thing is that your combo is actually underpriced, because this is not a smart controller, it is a DJI RC pro and it costs 1199$ on its own.
I just ordered an Air 2 S after flying the Mini 2 for almost a couple of years. Got a Cyber Monday deal. Planning on getting my advanced Canadian certification and start a little business.

@@Jay_Fritts I have passed the online test, but will now have to book and pass a flight review. In my part of the country this will have to wait until mid April at least because of the weather. My drone is not rated for temperatures below freezing. Here in Alberta we have those prevailing for a while yet. I'm planning to offer photography and video for small businesses and real estate, but also open for other opportunities.
Nice addition, I’m waiting on mine to arrive. By the way have you noticed that your controller is not the regular smart controller, if I’m not wrong it is the new RC PRO CONTROLLER that comes with the Mavic 3 Cine version.
No kidding?!? Is there a difference between the two modes? I must have missed that in my research!
Yes is the same controller the mavic 3 cine and as from last firmware update now you can use the same controller for the mavic 3 and the air 2S
Yes, indeed, that is the RC Pro controller. I believe this is a better controller than the Smart Controller, which is being phased out.
I m happy with all except 2. 1 - Cant zoom for pictures and 2 - pic and video dont sync to phone when shooting. In case drone crashes and not found, you loose it all.
Yeah the zoom is definitely a bummer... Though I will say, I have the RC Pro controller and it saves everything to the remote controller itself, so I haven't had any issues like that! Comes with a price though haha.
Drone is like phone it will never stop . You buy new one today and 6 months later it' updated. But if you take a good care of it . It will last 5 years. Evo 2 pro it was my first drone I just fly it for fun in my backyard. I will get mavic 3 in the future.

@@jfritts333 yes its the version 2 of the smart controller that is also packaged with Mavic 3 cine version, the antenna,sticks,buttons,ports and software is different.
and yes the controller costs 1200 or 1099 us dollars

I don't own the previous one but it feels good to have the rc pro,and lets hope it will be compatible with the previous drones since i also do own a mini2
@@stealthshinobi3310 Oh yeah that would be super useful... this is my only drone, and I imagine I may upgrade to the Mavic 3 Pro eventually, but for now I can't really justify the purchase! haha

If you got the RC PRO controller then you should have also got the newer batteries. They have 250mAh more than the older ones.
Yes you are right! Which it honestly feels like I'm only getting about 20-25 minutes of flight per battery if that... Probably because I always film in 5.4K res in sport mode though lol
@@Jay_Fritts I agree, I'm only getting about the same. I'm also being very careful and RTH with plenty of power to spare.
@@TommyGrofcsik Same here, and honestly I bought this as my entry drone, so that in the future I could get something more reliable, but for what it costs, I can't complain too much since the video quality is so impressive. I definitely need to dabble with the photo settings though because the RAW images are a bit over sharpened in my opinion...

You can buy like 4 good phones for 700$ I bought 3 new pixel xl 2's for 115$ each I just can't see the value in the smart controller.
However sometimes it's not about value.
I bought a refurbished air 2s and bought refurbished bought 2 batteries and bought a hard case, nd filters from a better brand 2 firehouse strobe lights and a charger that charges 4batteries at one time . And some other stuff for 1200$
Question, I’ve got the drone and plan on doing real estate photography. I plan on editing a lot of the videos I take, but my computer really isn’t a high end computer, is that okay? Is there anyway I can work around that
This drones footage doesn’t seem too intensive, but if it is, look into how to convert your footage to proxy’s within your software! It makes higher data footage easier to work with :)
DJI says about the controller that "... due to some uncontrollable supply issues of the DJI Smart Controller, the shipment of DJI Air 2S Fly More Combo (DJI Smart Controller) is delayed. Therefore, if we are unable to ship your DJI Air 2S combo on schedule, we will offer you with an RC upgrade on a case-by-case basis, as in, upgrading the DJI Smart Controller with a DJI RC Pro. This special upgrade offer will be suspended as soon as the supply issues are solved.".

@@Jay_Fritts I ordered an Air 2S with Smart Controller with the hope that their message would come through for me. That was not the case, so I returned the Combo yesterday.

I think it is just the DJI Air 2s... I honestly get confused half the time, I mean it has the same sensor as the Mavic 3 Pro soooo HAHA

I just bought that combo. It is RC Pro in it, not old smart controller which is awesome. Especially price for it.
But ... I turn everything on, updated software on RC and Air 2S and fly a but. But realise that is no maps on RC 😳

Such a great deal right!? I'm blown away by the video quality, and color grading is a breeze. Not really sure about the maps though... haven't looked into that yet!
@Jay Fritts I've contact DJI Support and they was surprised I got this remote not old Smart Controller like it saying on the box. And they told me that RC Pro it's not compatible with Air 2S. But they ask me to get them RC Pro SN number and they will check everything.
@@robertbosek3362 I want to say I've heard they'll be releasing a firmware update to fix that, but I could be wrong... please let me know what you find!
Hey great review! Hows the Smart controller after a few months of use?
Thanks so much! I honestly love it. Having a dinosaur iPhone 8 is rough because the battery dies in like 45 minutes of constant heavy use, whereas the Smart Controller lasts weeks without being charged... super nifty!

I would love to free up my phone from my controller but how do you do the editing? I use my phone with the fly app for all my editing.
I solely edit with Premiere Pro on a pretty beefy rig... but I did try out the editing software that was included with the rc Pro controller, and it was pretty nifty! Color grading is rough because it's a small display, but I will say, even using the Premiere Rush app on my phone kills the battery in like 15 minutes, and the controller has great battery life! (I have an iPhone 8 so it's not a great comparison lol)

I can't believe you keep referring to it as the smart controller. It's NOT. The controller you have is the RC Pro. And it is infinitely better than the smart 🙄. Lucky you.

I always sub to knew content creator to help grow their channel. I'm considering starting my own any tips and any software I would need to edit videos would you recommend? Any advice would be appreciated thank in advance
Thank you I appreciate it! I personally use the Adobe Suite, but I do video work for a living so it's convenient for me! There are cheaper and easier to function video editing applications, it just depends on your budget and how much time you can commit to learning the software, but I would recommend Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro!

Still to this day love it. You cannot beat this drone for it's price, video quality, and portability! Definitely could use some longer lasting batteries, but considering I'm constantly filming in 5.4K, I can't gripe too much haha!

I paid $1099 for the DJI RC PRO Smart controller for The AIR 2S.

@@jfritts333 So far it only one company that have it on eBay for the Air 2s and Mavic 3. That you can buy with out the combo.
@@TruckDriver326 Oh wow no kidding? So did they raise the price for the Air 2S 'Smart Controller' package when they switched it to the RC Pro? Cause I didn't have any other controller options aside from the RC Pro when buying!
@@jfritts333 B & H sold the package with smart controller on sale for $1749.00 Reg price $2,498. Drone by itself $999.00.
I bought my Combo from Beach Camera $1299.00 it came with a camera backpack landing pad free SD card some editing software. And I bought a 3 year DJI CARE Fresh. Then they came out with the package you have mouth later on. Only if I waited.
I have to get some flying time in. IT cold now then it was to hot in the summer time.
@@jfritts333 to answer the question no they did not rises the price. They made a great deal.
RC Pro is no Triplet 8. Unless you need the better range it proved useless to us.
