    putting a postcard about a goldfish getting freedom right before the Russian entry was a bit shady

      Actually, it might had been the reverse of what you think. During these times, Russia wasn't that agressive as today, and it might also have been a "thank" for Russia for recognizing Estonia's independence. It sounds weird nowadays, but it can be like that. And I think it was a beautiful postcard.

    If you look at the Swedish postcard, you can see the Russian Burinovske Babushki from 2012.

    The fairytale theme was a nice idea- sadly ESC doesn't do postcards as good as this any more. Frankenstein and Pinocchio are not fairy tales. The Bluebeard one is funny- though the real Bluebeard story is much darker.
