I also watched (re-runs😅) of the Adam West Batman as a kid, so I adore Blankman. It's cheesy in all the best ways, and Damon and DAG have always been a great duo ever since In Living Color. There's a lot of heart behind the silliness, and watching J5 explode is actually tragic 😭

Damon (in an interview said) wanted to make a movie based off of his "In Living Color" skit's character named "Handy-man" (a special needs super hero, but he used the R word, which we can't use today in 2024) but couldn't do it because the studio said no due to it being politically incorrect, so instead he toned it down and made Blankman. You can still find clips of his skits.

Wife & Kids production was a production company in honor of the Wayan’s mom (at least that’s my belief).
The movie is definitely a spoof on the 60’s Batman show (which was campy) and The Green Hornet of the same era. Kevin’s fighting ability is inspired by Bruce Lee’s character Kato, from the Green Hornet. This is why the camera angles are like that, because both shows utilized this style.
Wife N Kids is Damon's Production Company he named in honor of his own family. Blankman was inspired by Batman and Handyman, the skit he used to do on In Living Color. They would've caught too much slack bringing Handyman to the big screen, so Blankman was born.
@@bigb2494 that’s all good, Handyman and all that shit. But the way the movie was shot and overall aesthetic was inspired by those 60’s superhero shows.

Little known facts this character was based off of the character that he had on his brother's show or was supposed to be based off of character that he had on his in living color it was supposed to be based off a character called Handi-man who was a Handicapped superhero. Is the physically challenged individual myself I found it hilarious as a 4 year old kid what happened to be physically challenged myself if you get a chance you should check out the sketches on your own just type in in living color and Handi-man. I promise you won't be sorry.
