Great video! And the best part is you caught me running down Main Street USA!! I'm in the black tights and gray sleeveless shirt. Thank you so much!

Cyrus Morgan That’s awesome, you’re in the shot almost all the way down Mainstreet. I love to hear when people spot themselves in the videos, so thanks for letting me know.

Pam Logan That is awesome! I’m so glad you got to see the video. I thought it worked out just perfect after I’m done talking and turn the camera around you are there, it was very funny. Thank you for that and also for being there and making the experience for a lot of runners so much fun.

Awww.. Tears! Our pleasure. Hope to see you again next year.
OH, and I did Goofy in 2010, it snowed on the Half and wicked wind during the Full - I feel your cold pain. (I was wearing 3 layers of pants and about 7 tops when you saw me!) Keep moving forward!

Pam Logan Snow would not have been fun. I wore shorts every day and it was soo cold. I also did the Castaway Cay Challenge a couple days later, that was a lot warmer. :-)
Would love to do Dopey again, probably not next year, have to start saving up for 2020.

I understand. Just remember, those volunteers get up way before you. $$ was a reason I switched to volunteering. I've been running Disney since 2000 when the half and full were run simultaneously on Sunday.. only.
      It's great fun.

    Dude your pace is amazing!

Jessica Camp thanks. I start out too fast at the start of the race though, I can keep a pretty good pace, but the people I start out with run a lot faster and I shouldn’t be running their pace. Happy with the times I ran for the Dopey races though. Can’t wait to go back in January. 😀

You mentioned the Balloon Ladies this time. I started with them. lol (Dead Last Start challenge) I'm not sure where you saw them, but I would have been several minutes ahead of them by then. Still haven't seen myself in your videos. :D

There is not that much footage of me walking around the start area, so chances of me having filmed you there are pretty slim. Most of the time we go straight to the area where you have to wait to go to the corral to get a good spot at the front. :-)

    Most enjoyable 📹
Love watching vids from these Disney races. This one was special; it is great that these runs are mass participation events but this one shows it as also a serious athletic endeavour with a fun 'twist'- eg the photo stops, main Street and the castle in all their glory. Well done to you.... Though you should have had some dramatic breaking news-type music as 'reports are coming in' from the other corrals.l!
I will never have the opportunity to run a Disney race but if I did I would hope to run it with the same seriousness /fun balance you manage... Now to find your other videos from Dopey!

twold4this Thank you for the kind words. I like the idea of the ‘breaking news type music’, I might use that next time. 😀 I hope you enjoy the other videos as well. I had a lot of fun making them.

Before the race when you shed your layers, did you have to just get rid of them or were there places to put your things?

I had to get rid of it. Just threw it to the side. There are collection boxes there, Disney collects all the clothing left behind and gives it to charity. I always wear something old or get something at a thrift store that I don't mind tossing to the side.

hello! I'm training for the next disney half marathon in 2019. it will be my first half and I'm watching your videos for some tips and advices; it seems you had a lot of fun. this will be my first half marathon so I don't put any proof of time and I guess I'll be in the last corrals, right?, I just hope that I can complete the route and take a few pictures with the characters. btw I love your videos! greetings from méxico ;)

karen ortiz Hello, without a proof of time you will most likely be somewhere in the last corrals, but if you run at a decent pace that is not a problem, you only have to stay in front of the balloon ladies in the back. The lines for the characters will be a bit longer than you see in my videos, I had no wait at all most of the time, but later the lines got pretty long, so take that in account when you’re running. If you get to the corrals real early, like I do, you can also take some photo’s with the characters before the start and be in the front of your corral, which helps you a bit with being in front of a lot of people already.
Either way the races are a lot of fun, so enjoy it. Thank you for watching my videos, I hope you they can help you with your training a bit.

hi again! i didn't think very well when I registered and I chose the last option of finish time also because I still don't know what to expect about my running in those distances and I'm feeling a little scared haha. right now I'm focusing all my thoughts on finishing the race I do not want to meet the balloon ladies... more questions, can I bring the Handler of my gopro with me in the race to record?, / my mom is going with me but she will not run, Do they allow her to wait for me at the finish line? Thanks so much for your help!!!! ;)

karen ortiz you still have a lot of time to train, so don’t worry about it, if you make sure you take advantage of the time you have and put in the work to get prepared, you have nothing to worry about.
At the Expo, when you pick up you bib, they also have visitor wrist bands. These allow people in to the finish area to see you cross the finish or meet up after the race. They also have them for other spectator areas, depending on the course.
