"it's a small world" 1964-65 World's Fair Improved audio mix

  • This is my audio mix of the 1964-65 World's Fair version of the ride, a complete flow-through of the 1964-65 World's Fair version of the attraction complete with the isolated vocals (used in 1965 only) at the beginning and end of the attraction. Here, I have used almost every single image I've found on the Internet (as well as my 1964 record book), and synced them to the full original source audio for each and every country, basically recreating the full original ride. Most of this audio is pretty much exactly the same as the audio used in Disneyland's version today (as well as Walt Disney World, Tokyo and Hong Kong Disneyland). There were several changes to the Disneyland versions audio in the 1970's and 80's, followed by the complete removal of this soundtrack between 1993 and 2002, but thankfully in 2003 they brought back most of this classic soundtrack and much of it continues to play to this day, although since 2009 it's been accompanied by the awful, IMO, Disney character audio. Some of the set pieces have also remained pretty consistent over the years, but many countries have seen some changes over the years as well. Some of the sections, mainly Europe and South America, were arranged differently than they have been since the ride was moved to Disneyland. There was also no South Pacific, which wasn't added until the ride moved to Disneyland in 1966, and the Rainforest was located in the also appropriate South America room instead of the South Pacific. Some of the other countries were also repainted and expanded when the ride was removed to Disneyland in 1966, making this a very similar, but also different ride to the one we know today. As some of you may know, it's a small world is my favorite Disney theme park attraction (and what most of my videos are about) and I really hope to do it justice through this and my other audio mix. I hope you enjoy, and old version of this video (now unlisted) is linked below.

      Although I sadly wasn't alive back then, from all of the pictures, videos, and other documentation I've seen of the original it's a small world, I completely agree about it being so amazing and magical, and in my opinion the best attraction Disney ever built. I'm very glad that at least I've ridden the also fantastic current version, but even I agree with many other fans that the Disney characters and America room take away from what Walt and his imagineers intended for the original ride and they need to go, so it can be perfect again like it was many years ago. But no matter what happens, it's still a small world after all!

    I feel like if Disney were to ever open a park in New York at some point in the future, they should make the layout of their small world ride identical to the world’s fair version seen here. Just to pay a tribute to the original that was in New York way back in the 60’s.

    • @benjaminroberson1924
      @benjaminroberson1924  2 года назад

      I'll definitely try to do If you had wings sometime, since I am a little more familiar with that ride and have always enjoyed it. However, it'll probably be at least a couple months before I'm able to make and upload it. Also, I don't think I'm going to be able to do Magic Journeys anytime soon, if ever. Although I love much of classic EPCOT Center (including the original ride Journey into Imagination), I've never been too interested in Magic Journeys, and don't think I'd be able to familiarize myself with it at the moment. Maybe in the distant future, but right now I simply have too many other things planned for at least the next several months if not closer to the next year.

      @@gamingpc3475 I now know that they actually didn't have the laughing Nigerians in the original 1964-65 finale, as although they were in Africa right from the start, they weren't part of the finale until the ride was moved to Disneyland in 1966.

      IYHW is a very underrated ride. I mean, yes, the whole ride was out of place in tomorrowland, being a literal advertisement for something that already exists and is implemented on a large-scale with civilian access to it, but it had AC and the song was catchy. It was also the WDW version of Adventure Thru Inner Space? Kinda wacky, if you ask me.

    • @benjaminroberson1924
      @benjaminroberson1924  2 года назад

      @@x-fun3149 Yes I agree with everything you said. As you said it was out of place in Tomorrowland, but the song was very catchy (almost as catchy as IASW, IMO), and overall it was a very well executed and somewhat technologically advanced ride. The speedroom in particular was absolutely amazing and unlike anything else at the time.
