Holy Leyndell, this is epic. Now that I'm working my way through Elden Ring (thanks to my stream buddies guiding me) I can safely say Radagon seems truly terrifying. Our actions in the game sure don't feel like for the benefit of the Lands Between..I believe Elden Ring may actually be a modern retelling of Richard Wagner's the Ring Cycle in a lot of ways. I've thought this since I started reading the basics of the lore and watching in game moments.
I'd encourage you to check out the Elden Beast full video: ruclips.net/video/ClqeMO5BdVI/видео.html
And if you want to throw around your other Fromsoft Suggestions feel free to check out the Patreon: patreon.com/marcomeatball - That's where I'll be taking all the suggestions for the channel moving forward plus my own choices.
More Elden Ring to come...
Without spoiling anything, I think you're more right than you know. In particular, keep Götterdammerung in the back of your mind as you proceed.
If you're looking for a lore-friendly exclaimation, I suggest "Marika's tits!"
If you're interested in another video game inspired by Richard Wagner's Der Ring Des Nibelungen, I recommend looking into a very niche, very pretty game called "Odin Sphere". It was originally released on the Playstation 2, but got an updated remaster on Playstation 4 called "Odin Sphere Leifthrasir"
"And then Elden Beast is just... not bad" oh boy wait until he learns how it is just as bad.
Radagons movements in the fight are very much in the uncanny valley on purpose, but in an "above human" way, especially above human emotions.
I was about to say. “Radagon doesn’t speak. He just starts beating your ass. He’s about that action” 😂
Actions speak louder than words.
Well because he is tecnically dead. Is just a puppet in the hands of the greater will. The half of his body missing filled with dark "smoke" that is the control on radagon body from the grater will.
Hammer smack. Teleport. Teleport again. Stars. Bolt. Teleport. Teleport. Hammer smack. Stars. Form elden ring on ground with hammer. Grab and destroy face. Teleport.
He just lifts his hammer in the air, basically saying, “You see this, I am going to take it and beat your ass into a bloody pulp with it.”
He's not beating you with a hammer. He's smithing you into a better player.
Forging you into an Elden lord.
@@justin9489 Fr
I'd argue he is definitely beating you with a hammer
Radagon is one of the most mysterious characters in the game and the lore isn’t concrete on him at all. But your assessment of “brute confidence” definitely fits. I got the vibe Radagon had no intent to do anything but crush us into fodder for the Erdtree. His demeanor is literally a walking pace the whole time combined with absolutely earth shattering power moves. He definitely exudes this vibe of “You are going to understand what true strength is.”
"A crown is warrented with strength!"
while pinning your body then bonk your face into the ground
Well... he’s a God... soooo
Well he’s also Marika... but still 😂
@@williamarrowood6561 he and marika aren't god though.
They are likely a kind of prophet/messenger from The outer god itself. Having blessed little with their power. The finger or Outerspace is the truely God Entity in ER universe.
@@arik2216 The way I understand it is that Marika and Radagon are Gods, and that’s why their children are Demi-Gods. The Elden Beast is a manifestation of the Greater Will itself
I love that on the latter half of his theme you can hear the initial shattering of the elden ring, something shown in the first cutscene, and then you can hear in the background radagons attempts to repair it, with each of the hammer strikes.
Didn’t even notice that that’s crazy
Amazing observation bro
The initial shatter is at 1:20 right? you also hear the same sound effect at the beginning of the song. I also can hear the hammer noises that sound like shattered pieces of the ring hitting the ground. I noticed the sound but never realized the "shatter" noise was about the Elden Ring.
@@ChibiOnVR the start is a hammer strike yes. But theres this… raise after it. I think that could be representative of the elden ring itself, the strike and raise basically showing how radagon himself is brandishing the elden ring (or rather he is the vessel of the elden ring) whereas where you hear it again its representing the elden ring being shattered, as that includes the shattering sound that we also got in the intro.
@@onewheeledcar6030 it also can be a reference that the shatter is what started everything. "The final battle" is a remaster of the main theme, which is the first song you hear while it itself is the final theme. The shattering is what started your journey which is what "the final battle" is trying to emphasize (your journey). It's a very nice touch, and I'm happy they added it.
Not only is this the main theme, it’s the main theme backward (kinda) since at the menu it plays the lone Elden Beast string plucks right at the start. The last song you’ll hear in the game is an alternate version of the first
I like that too, it's like the "I open at the close". We start with the wonder, and delve into the battles and the unforgiving nature. We end with a difficult and epic battle and when finished we are filled with wonder and sadness (because it is over)
What I love most about Radagon's theme is simply that it conveys PRECISELY what is happening, Radagon doesn't even bother to introduce himself how every other demigod has thus far, you have absolutely no idea what is going on in his head beyond being sure that Radagon wants to end you and will stop at nothing to do so, there are no words, no sense of who is right here and who is wrong, just the mutual understanding that it's about to go down and will be the fight of your life
At around 1:21 there’s a woman almost crying out, a single tone coming from the mens part of the choir and then a sound of like glass shattering.
It almost feels like the moment Marika has lost any semblance of power over Radagon and he’s free to try and save everything he was held back from saving before. That’s why I think it also gets very tribal with the drum, it’s the flaming power of Radagon bursting through :)
I absolutely love that, just the image that gave me in my head. Great description!
Radagon is Marika
@@Alcomedy
Yesn‘t
I always got a sense that there is a foreboding and very sorrowful tale to Radagon's part in all of this and honestly his theme sort of plays it out for me. The beginning is a war between himself and Marika, so a literal fight with himself (to a degree as we have plenty of evidence and hints in the game that he is his own person while also being Marika and vice versa) and that when you hear that woman's voice that's Marika winning just long enough to shatter the Elden Ring and then you can hear the hammer hits afterwards, like that is Radagon trying so hard to undo what Marika has done and then it just...ends. Just simmers out. Because he fails.
It's tragic really - we get all throughout the game how Radagon is this almost pure icon for the Golden Order, someone who represents loyalty to the Erdtree and yet how is he rewarded for his loyalty? Crucified and imprisoned along with Marika even though he tried so hard to fix it. Imo he represents the Jesus figure far more than Marika herself - she intended to do what she did and he paid for it along with her.
@@lurksmcgee From what I gather, Radagon wanted his family with Rennala, and his children. I believe Marika cursed him, or otherwise forced him into obedience to become her Elden Lord.
Marika stole Ranni's father, brainwashed her brother into worshiping Godfrey, and shattered her mother's mind. What surprise is it then that Ranni made the gestalt Radagon/Marika pay in a way that would only hurt Marika: Killing her favorite son in the worst way possible.
Then Marika, likely absolutely distraught and infuriated, lashed out so violently Radagon couldn't stop her from shattering the Elden Ring. After that, the Greater Will itself punished them, at one crucifying both their greatest champion and greatest failure. As such, the Lands Between were paralyzed. In the final war for the fate of the Ring, both sides had lost their greatest tool. The other gods and demigods dead, dying, or otherwise incapacitated.
I love that Elden Beast kinda had a "PLIM PLOM" with those string plucks like Gwyn had. Almost sounds like the two of the three iconic notes in his piano theme.
Soul of cinder also incorporates these two notes
And radagon has the motif from demon's souls main theme!!!!
l l l l l l ll l l l l ll l
Marika and Radagon are such fascinating characters, with one fighting for the Golden Order and one fighting to break it. Marika shattered the Elden Ring while Radagon tried to repair it. The hammer clangs in this song fit so well!
Radagon is Marika
@@xinlou6707 I know
I like how we never got to fight Marika, but Radagon instead since Marika wanted all this to happen, but Radagon was the will of the Greater Will and couldn't handle Marika's betrayal. I think this is an expression of Radagon's fury against Marika and his determination to destroy all she tried to accomplish with her betrayal.
It isn’t exactly described why radagon and Marika have different wills or why they are ever separate, but it is clear that marika wanted it all to end, likely because she was through with being a god or being ordered around. I really hope we get more info in dlc
@@jonahward4522 You should both do the goldmask questline, the info is already in the game :) You might be surprised by how wrong you are about Radagon and Marika
@@WhamBam_TV what? Radagon and marika are one and the same. Gold mask figures that out himself.
@@jonahward4522 no he doesn't? You have to tell Goldmask that Marika and Radagon are the same people. After you reveal the "secret" of the statue of Radagon in Leyndell.
Well Marika never intended to fight us but wanted us to correct what was wrong with the golden order or get rid of it entirely. Radagon was just a fanatic of the golden order not really the "will" of the Greater will, just a tool to be used and discarded by the Greater will. The elden beast converts his body into the sacred relic sword, symbolic of him being just a tool.
YES! been waiting for this one. the music starting as Radagon raises his hammer with his body cracked to literal pieces: instant chills.

The way Elden Beast OST sounds, man it's actually something you can feel in your soul. The way the song goes along with the flow of the Elden Beast the way how you can hear grief, sadness, and sorrow in the OST how just by hearing the piece you know your about to fight something celestial something that transcends the very fabric of reality. Idk that's my take on it
I'd just binge watched Doctor Who for the first time through David Tennant's Doctor ... so the 'Time Lord' theme really stuck in my head .... and the Elden Beast's song with the woman singing sounds REALLY close to that.
I love the trope of “main theme played in the final battle” and its just so absolutely perfect here. I remember telling my friends when I was just listening to the main theme that it would be perfect for boss music. And then it was! It really makes everything come full circle.
What I love about this final boss theme vs the dark souls and bloodborne ones is that in ds and bb, the final theme sounds like you're trying to save a world that can't be saved (ds) or you're putting a dead world out of its misery (bb) but this one, sounds like you're attempting to save a world that can still be saved. Pretty powerful stuff
to me it sounds like the world is desperately trying to convince you that it DOESN’T need saving; Radagon is practically falling apart but he does NOT act the part; he walks slowly toward you with a slight smile despite the tragedy that surrounds him. Every action he takes is with the intent to kill you and remind you of who he is, what he means to the world. HE doesn’t want us to save the world because he doesn’t want to believe it’s truly broken, and that his time is done.
His theme is great, with the shattering and the loss of hope, the lyrics "God help us, God save us from our sorrow" really embodies what Radagon's trying to do in repairing the ring
Where did you get the lyrics?
It came to him in a dream
I don’t think there’s been a translated lyric video for Radagon yet, so where did you get this?
@@requiemlul3140 You can hear them saying it at about 55 seconds in

The Golden Order is basically the reign of the Elden Ring as overseen by Queen Marika, after the Elden Beast (which becomes the Elden Ring) arrived from space. Radagon can be interpreted moreso as the enforcer of the Golden Order, who have conquered the Lands Between in the name of this order.

The story behind radagon is incredible. You get the feeling that there’s still so much we don’t know, yet to be revealed in dlc.
This might be one of the best final boss themes I've ever heard honestly. The build up to this fight is amazing. Throughout your whole journey through the Lands Between, the name of Radagon keeps reappearing, mentioned by multiple NPCs and littered across item descriptions, there's so much mystery behind this character. And when you finally enter that golden light, and see him get up, take his hammer, raise it up high and turn towards you is an absolutely incredible moment that never fails to give me goosebumps, even on New Game +5. Great reaction, keep up the awesome work!
All bosses that we faced before radagon are his children and they are all demigods so how’d you imagine their father would be 😎
Mohg and Morgott are not his
Radagon's children or Godfrey's children.
Now
We
Are
Talking
This Is elden ring summarized in One theme, man i love this piece
Radagon Is a God and we're told during the Whole game what he did, Who he Is, what he Hates (his locks) and what he loves (the order). A fanatic Who made it, so fanatic that he literally becomes the EBs sword.
The main theme being so intense matches Radagon's aggressiveness. It hammers into you with dutiful purpose as he marches or leaps towards you, hurling magic and swinging that club like a wrecking ball. The way he also slaps aside spells or teleports to avoid attacks and close in on you also lend themselves to the theme's inexorable momentum.
It makes sense that the Elden Beast's theme is so otherworldly because it is the envoy of the Greater Will, an Outer God. It is not of this world, it is alien to the Lands Between. And supposedly the design of the EB with the way the stars and such are is based off of a real life galaxy, so with it's design they were going for a very cosmic otherworldly creature.
If you notice when it retrieves it's sword, it's not just pulling it out of the water, it's sword is made up of the remains of Radagon/Marika which really shows what they really meant to the Greater Will overall.
Man I love the final themes of Elden Rings. They each portray various aspects of your journey throughout the game.
And oh boy. I've done so many fights for people for Rad/EB, and the amount of times I see people get absolutely obliterated by Rad, is insane. So many people make the mistake of trying to give Rad a back massage during one particular move, and oh boy does it always end badly. That, or just watching him just do his spell deflection or just doing his super lunge and absolutely smacking a Tarnished into two day ago. He is 100%a vigor check boss, no doubt. That and damage negation too. Remember people, eat your crab, it might just save your life.
This boss's presentation is godlike
I see you.
The relentlessness you describe in the consistent drumbeat and the roaring vocals perfectly describes that fight oh my god 💀
This is actually our theme. It's an epic version of the main menu theme which is a call to us to claim glory and this is our journey come to fruition. Poetry in motion
Honestly, that music remembered me of the moon presence because of one reason: it doesn't feel like it's the theme of the boss, it feels like the players theme: you, the one who succeeded in every challenge of your journey, are as a hero on your final foe and it is the hero of the previous era. And it is not a fight between former friends or enemys. It is a fight between two heros, who fight each other because You, as the new successor, must be tested. No hard Feelings, no regret, no crying and no mercy! Draw your sword, hero, and proof that you are mighty enough to take the throne!
Moon presence was similar, because it was a really scary music, it didn't fit the boss, but it fitted you, as a hunter, because it's a theme of a hunt. A dirty, bloody and violent hunt not against a god, but against a beast, which is getting ripped apart by the executioner it raised itself.
Elden Ring being my first soulsborne game honestly was such a good introduction to Fromsoftware's catalogue. This finale has stuck to me like glue, ESPECIALLY this theme
Oh man getting to listen to this masterpiece in the final fight is absolutely shivering.
Thanks for looking at this song, I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to this song. Amazing reaction as always.
I though Margit the fell omen's theme had a neat ring to it, but when I actually listened to his actual theme (Morgott's theme) I was so surprised! I killed him so quick, that I never actually heard it. If Radagon is pure violence, Morgott is pure rage, the lifetime rage of an oppressed soul unleashed upon the tarnished. Just like this one, I can't wait for your reaction to it! Good day to you!
I continue to love your breakdowns, especially from a perspective of purely music and No experiences with the game. It really nails how well the music carries the themes, and in this case the stark duality, being presented in the battles and even the character of Radagon.
The fact that you mention that the theme pervades intrusion is amazing. That's is Radagon's goal to defend the Elden Ring from us the players and yes he is powerful as the host for the Elden Ring he billows it especially with this music playing it gives off such a threatning atmosphere
This theme just exudes raw power and divinity.
This theme sounds like "The End" to me. A way more fitting end than the actual last boss.
Not entirely. It’s the end of a bombastic fight but a common theme in all the souls games is the sadness within the endings and Elden beast theme reflects that perfectly. It’s a perfect transition from Radagon’s theme
@@Ryan-cs3uc but there isn't any sadness in the Elden Beast, it's literally a parasite whereas Radagon tried in a courageous futile attempt to fix the Elden Ring and you hear the sounds of his hammer in the theme, reminding you that he failed.
@@emperorpalpatine373 ur fighting the vessel of the one thing that caused all of the pain to begin with. It’s a godly being u shouldn’t of even witnessed and I think the song captures its aesthetic and arena perfectly. It’s also a fitting song since it’s the end of a age, or type of rule. It’s a way more intimate fight since ur in direct conflict with the greater will as opposed to a pawn. Still love Radagon though, wish he had a 2nd phase and they kept the fights separate
Because it is, is the end, not of the game, but the end of all the game teach you, the end of the Golden Orden Era, the end of the problems you have faced from the Lands Between, you are fighting versus the exactly Elden Ring you see the first time when you enter the game in the title screen, you're ending the whole journey of why you where called to that world.
In the other hand where you fight the Elden Beast, you have already completed the mission of becoming the new Elden Lord, you already defeated the main boss of the plot, but you where not there to becoming the Elden Lord really, you where there to change how that world work, if you just become the Elden Lord you will be exactly like Radagon living in the same world you played the game, the only change would have been that there's a new Lord.
And there is where enter the Elden Beast, the Elden Beast is something new, something outside the story you have lived, is an entity from outside the Lands Between that don't want you to change how the rules of the world work, because that is its task. Defeat the Elden Beast is a post end-plot fight, and the requirement to end the game, from the storytelling perspective fits exactly how it should.
The Elden Beast makes sense tho, if you play any of the side quests, you will know that all of the alternate endings are NOT what the Greater WIll wants (like reintroducing death or removing the Greater WIll's influence over the lands between.) The Elden Beast is basically the last ditch effort to stop you from getting the Elden Ring, which is why the music is so dramatic. It stands out in a way where you can truly feel that it is the end, even in a game where every boss theme sounds like it was pulled from a final boss.
"Sheer and utter violence..."
Me: Experiences flashbacks to getting grabbed and having a giant magical golden hammer smashed into my face repeatedly...

I loved this theme when i meet the bosses. thank you for this :3
Not only the best theme in Fromsoftware, but maybe the best theme in gaming ever. The drums just hit you right in the chest, the choir just blows you back, its just so good. While I understand why Gwyn's music was so sad and somber, I always wanted to feel like I'm fighting a god. I want the music to reflect that. Radagon's music felt like you are not just fighting "a" god. If felt like you are fighting "the" god of Elden Ring's world. Mirroring many of the musical themes and techiques of its own games title theme, but giving a satisfying musical culmination to your entire journey, plus right after this Elden Beast gives you those plin plin plon vibes all the way from the first Dark Souls. Radagon/Elden Beast feels like being rewarded musically for being with Fromsoftware through the entire ride. And what a ride its been.
I love your expression when it deviates from the main theme near the end. Such a solid song.
Radagon’s theme is a prime example of “you didn’t take the hint” since your clearly not welcome, so you force your way inside and this guy comes down to remind you
Absolutely amazing to hear your take on this, and the majesty and conviction of Radagon expressed through his theme. In my opinion, one song I'd love to watch you listen to (whenever you wanna get to it) is the theme of Lawrence, the First Vicar from Bloodborne. I personally adore that one!
100% beautiful review of the music 🤌 you say you didn’t know what the golden order is but you were able to analyze the music so well that you summed up EXACTLY what it embodies, and how it’s perceived in the context of the player.
❤️❤️❤️❤️🤗
I love how the little notes at the beginning of the main theme (not Radagon) are the same as the start of the Elden Beast's theme. It basically says that the avatar of the Greater Will runs everything, even if what you see is Queen Marika, Radagon, and the rest of it. It's awesome.
Great Video as always;)
God I would love a live orchestra playing Elden Ring music. The boss themes at the very least.
There is a live orchestra playing the bloodborne final boss theme on RUclips and it’s one of my favorite things ever.
Video game opera/orchestra has been done before. Like some anime OST orchestra/opera stuff as well.
You might wanna check venues near you, because it certainly has happened over the years. I remember one souls streamer mentioning he went to one concert near him in Texas and that wasn't that terribly long ago irrc.
Oh man I cant wait for you to get here in your streams. But damn this song. A call back to the main menu theme with its own twist to it. Then the elden beast. I hear elegance and mystery. Just love these both. And hey Marco, thanks for just uploading videos. Giving me something fun to look forward too :D And also finding new songs and games I could go play myself.

This fight and theme brought me to tears. His weapon, a hammer, being the ultimate tool of both creation and destruction, the echoes of the main theme feeling like it was echoing all the grandiosity of the souls games as well as this one, the golden aura being that of the sun and grace itself. He embodies the unapologetic assertion of man's will and all his glory. This song just made me so pumped to become elden lord and makes me proud to be human.
Radagon has to be one of my favourite bosses in From history period. The fight itself is really fun. But by god, he is just peak character design. He doesn’t even need to say anything for people to understand that he is an absolute badass, the way he stares at the Tarnished after hoisting his hammer is just like he is challenging us, daring us as the Elden Ring lights up in his chest. Almost like he is saying;” Well, you want the Elden Ring so badly? Come and take it.”
And the name itself,
“Radagon of the Golden Order”. The intangible Golden Order has finally mobilized itself in a physical manner for the player to face, after hearing about it for the whole game. Now the player finally understands why nobody could overrule the Golden Order and the greater wills.

It is so epic getting to this part, my first playthough being 130 hours and only missing a little the game had to offer the first time around, This part made me cry. Everything leads up to this point and the epic score just felt like, this is the end, finish the fight.
A little ways in you might notice a deep metallic thud. The first thud is followed by what sounds like broken glass falling, that's queen Marika shattering the elden ring. As the cello run progresses the thud match the very first game teaser where we see raddagon trying to repair the elden ring. This battle is you claiming the right to finish his failed task and forge a new elden ring as you see fit. You defy a God to re-forge the broken world in your own image as the gods have proven unfit to do so.
This is the one I've been waiting for. My favorite OST in all of Elden Ring and Fromsoft games.
My favorite little part about this as well. This track is called "The Final Battle" and not just called by the name of the boss as so many are. And both themes feel like a final battle in their own right. Radagon with the climatic final battle feeling and Elden Beast with a somber end feeling to it like a great journey ending. Both feeling like a final battle yet with a completely different feel
Just as you said. Even as you walk into the encounter, it begins differently. You don’t enter the fog gate with the same lackadaisical approach you may have beforehand. There’s a literal brilliance that over shines you. It’s an uncomfortable silence as you see Marika, the Eternal hanging over what remains of the Elden Ring.
And as she falls, her hair turns crimson; Marika becomes Radagon, and Radagon is not pleased by your coming. He is the enforcer of the law that once was, a law that was sullied by Marika and her own interjections. The hammer rises, the music blares, and unlike any boss; even Malenia didn’t give me the sense of actual foreboding that Radagon did. You feel weak. It’s the first battle in the game that made me feel that if I die here, it’s a permanent game over.
And as brutal as his song is, his combat is just as brutal and effective. He’s a heavy hitter; fast and just commands the battlefield whether it be at a distance or upclose.
He’s the only enemy who can literally parry anything away from hitting him with his BARE HANDS. It doesn’t matter the move, he can simply swat it away. It’s an encounter with weight to it. And the song just adds to it.
So happy, you finally covered the request I've put in your every video! Thrilled you liked it as much as I did. :)
One of my favorite ost (and boss fight ) in any souls
The way my eyes lit up, and my smile instantly dropped as he walked towards me, and that first attack was a hammer jab that sent me flying backwards.
The fact that these songs were recorded and played in my country is a honor. When I watched the credits and saw Budapest Film Orchestra I really felt proud for a moment.
You did it! Thank you so much :D 👍🏻😁👏🏻
While I'm still confused about Radagon and Marika, this theme is a banger. And it's beautifully contrasted by the second, much calmer part that comes after the fight.
The point you brought up about juxtaposition is *mua* spot on! It always make me marvel how FromSoftware's music handles contrast that accentuates the theme of their bosses and by extention their worldview.
Here we have Radagon (who we're not even sure is fully alive, maybe he's just as dead as Marika, powered by the sheer will of the Golden Order) being epic, immoveable, deadly, with machine-like brutality (contrasts to Hoarah Loux's wild brutality); he will stop at nothing, not even corporeal death, to obliterate you from the perfect order that he maintains. I feel a sense of fear and futility in the face of such unstoppable power.
And when his fight ends, something even greater - the Elden Beast - emerges from the depth with ethereal tranquility, while holding a sword transformed from Radagon's remains (!). Its movement is slow but elegant. The attacks it throws at you are elegant and grand as well. It contrasts to Radagon which makes his "Order" feel so small, almost enveloped in the grand scheme of things. The Elden Beast shows itself as the embodiment of the all-encompassing natural world, and it's so beyond us, it's even so beyond the gods. Now I haven't progressed to that part of the game, but I bet when I face the Elden Beast for the first time, I'll just stand there, mouth open in awe, and just let its holy rings obliterate me. I bet it'll be an almost religious experience.
Love your analyses so much! Can't wait for the next!
It can't be understated how much I enjoy he decided to take them as separate themes because they should've been.
the transition from radagons brutal and relentless theme to this holy angelic theme from elden beast is incredible
Banger
Every boss i fought had the next best ost.. but the one truly stuck in my head was Morgott’s. Amazing fight, heartbreaking story, awesome location.. you need to hear this..
The main theme of elden ring the first time I started the game gave me goosebumps with the overwhelming surge of power that is the theme.
Man, I remember playing this game when it came out and fighting Radagon with this banger of an ost was so exciting. Went through NG+ just to listen to this ost lol
No words, just divine wrath and the hammer of god.
this is my fav OST in Elden Ring
When I first got here, and heard those drums rolling in, and the chorus? I immediately focused 100%. I knew the game was ON!
Even the two bosses have comlete opposite gameplay. Radagon is non-stop running at you with fast close combat combos while the elden beast is very passive and have mostly mid/long range slow one hit moves that just one shot you. I think both ost are so good because the other exits
Most chilling boss fight in the game IMO, the way he turns back to fight us as this music starts gave me some chills XD
That's what I love about this theme, it not only sounds regal but it also sounds like you are going to fight someone extremely dangerous
Love from Brighton, UK
Hi Brighton!
The Elden Beast is an emissary and enforcer of the greater will.
Damn bro straight into the video, comparatively, this is a very quick intro
No one watches my beginnings and endings. 🥺
It can't be stressed enough how much buildup TO this track gets. It's not just Radagon of the Golden Order and Elden Beast, it's *specifically* called "The Final Battle"
When you start up Elden Ring, the main theme plays while the game checks status, compatibility, and loads files. You'll hear a good minute of it. Given how long Elden Ring is, you'll be hearing it several times across your 60+ hour playthrough.
Then, you finally get to Radagon. After multiple days worth of playtime, that theme song certainly impressed into your head.
And Radagon stands triumphantly, hammer in hand.
*And the main theme blares, a dark and violent reprise of that iconic score.* It's guaranteed to make the player lose their shit the first time they hear it, with "Final Boss Theme is a variant of Main Theme" being a CLASSIC video game trope that everyone loves.
After a tremendous battle with an actual God, who packs enough glorious power to destroy almost your entire health bar with every single attack, Radagon falls limp, and the Elden Beast takes his body.
The second part begins. Yet another reprise of the main theme. This time, it is distant, melancholic, and introspective. As you realize just how hollow the world order was, the feeling is also of grief. Of a broken world, but also of a glorious journey's end. That you are fighting a literal deific manifestation of Holy Order is.. oddly tranquil. The godlike beast is just.. background noise.
Fromsoft Games NEVER disappoint musically, and Elden Ring might just surpass Dark Souls 1 and 3. There is so much presence and thematic appropriateness for every single boss theme, and brilliant usage of recurring leitmotifs and scale. Elden Ring is a masterclass of a video game.
I honestly think that putting the sounds of Marika shattering the Elden Ring and Radagon trying to fix it at the end (well, that's what I think) is really good. Just great. Amazing. Splendid. Satisfactory.
When you enter the Final Boss Room and the main Theme is like "This is not even my final form."
i love how Radagon's OST is a nod, not only to the opening theme but also to the beginning of the souls series as a whole being a mix of false king Alant's theme from demons souls
Told you it was fire
It was such a HYPE moment to be fighting him for 1st time and suddenly realize it's the title screen song
I had a friend listen to this track, and she was saying it hurt her ears but she didn’t care because it was that epic!
Legendary!
Really like your thoughts on these soundtracks. It'd be great to hear your thoughts on Fatalis' Theme from Monster Hunter World Iceborne. Since he's the og final boss of the series since the first game, he holds so much significance every time he's mentioned in game.
Yup 😀
I like the Elden Beast part more because of the chorus.
And of course the chords in the beginning that remind of Gwyn's theme :)
The main theme is great, of course.
What a track
For some of the percussions they use the same sound from the game intro and the first reveal trailer, when Marika and Radagon are hammering the Elden ring
The Elden beast always draws tears to my eyes
Hi from Italy🇮🇹! Also, Radagon's theme immediately gives the crushing feeling of unmatchable power befitting a true God-Warrior. But also i like how it sounds soooo epic that, in my opinion, it also feels as a reward. As if the game itself acknowledges the fact that you, a "foul tarnished", made it to the point where even the most powerful being in the Lands Between grant you the honor of welcoming your challenge.
Ciao Italia :)
Best music ever heard)
Radagon and Elden Beast OST, or how to make you feel that the fight is the end of your long, long journey. Truely epic 🥰
I can't help but watch as he describes the chad Pikachu in the background.
hahahaha
Something I really like about him is every other demigod has a dialog with us in one way or another, except for radagon who just raises that hammer and gets started with beating you down. It feels like he's impressed with us getting this far..to the end, but the journey ends here and he has nothing left but to stop you from killing the elden ring
Best theme in the game. Which makes sense since it's the main theme.
The best way I can describe Radagon's theme is that its "Grandiose". It has that heroic sound, that "You are standing among a god and you, a being not on my level of status and power, are challenging me?" Cocky, broad, herculean heroic vibe
My favorite boss of all games I have played, the best music to any boss fight I fought. The most fair enemy I faced. I am exited to face him in ng+7
For every other boss, the music is singing their praises (or denoting their monstrousness) but for this, it feels like the game is celebrating YOU. YOU have come this far and YOU have earned the right to your own theme
For once you feel like the most powerful entity in this world
