Hear Ye! Hear Ye! The purpose of the 2nd amendment as ruled by the Supreme Court in 1939; ""The Constitution, as originally adopted, granted to the Congress power -- "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions". With obvious purpose to assure the continuation and render possible the effectiveness of such forces, the declaration and guarantee of the Second Amendment were made."" The difficulty in conveying what Militia is stems from several underlying issues. Going back as far as 1833, Justice Joseph Story notes that "The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of a republic ... yet, though this truth would seem so clear, and the importance of a well regulated militia would seem so undeniable, it cannot be disguised, that among the American people there is a growing indifference to any system of militia discipline..." Justice Story goes on to note that the people may very well lose their rights without the structure and Lawful authority of the Militia. While so many claim to know this topic few actually do. Most simply add to the deceit involved, and the eventual loss of the right without the ability to enforce it as the Founders provided. "The signification attributed to the term Militia appears from the debates in the Convention, the history and legislation of Colonies and States, and the writings of approved commentators. These show plainly enough that the Militia comprised all males physically capable of acting in concert for the common defense. "A body of citizens enrolled for military discipline." And further, that ordinarily, when called for service these men were expected to appear bearing arms supplied by themselves and of the kind in common use at the time." Is that not the analysis that the court sought to employ in Bruen? Yet, we deny what Militia is according to those who placed in the Constitution as the ONLY recognized authority so stated at Article I, Section 8, Clause 15, "to execute the Laws of the Union..." The "individual right theory" is a sham created by so-called pro-2nd organizations for the purpose of collecting contributions and memberships. It has no force of law, creates no office, nor does it impose any duty. It is, in legal contemplation, nothing more than a means of kicking the can down the road until the right is eviscerated and lost. Thanks for the update
For a “nuanced” approach read “we are going to fully go against the Constitution and will give any flimsy reason for doing so”.
Thank you for talking about the issues going on in my state!

Thank you Sir !!!
As a New Yorker we need a more pro 2A court!
Imagine telling the people with guns what they can and can't do. Now imagine those people with guns listening and obeying which is more crazy?
⛽️🚀🗽🇺🇸🙏 Pray, hope, and fight on!
Pisses me off how the US supreme court keeps bouncing cases back to the sub courts. Only to have them return to the SC
I expect reparations as a NY resident
Please keep the information and conversation going forward

But what about bans during "states of emergency? It seems like that is their qualified immunity loophole.
Great question. 😒
That is the 500 pound gorilla in the room. It is during "states of emergency" the need for self protection becomes the most important. It is during a "state of emergency" that the resources of the police are stretched the thinnest and criminals/gangs and looters will take advantage of the citizenry. An armed citizenry is the best "militia" for backup to law enforcement. The problem here is "is the state of emergency real or imagined" (to suit the agenda of an enemy within). Taking down the power grid is a simple flip of a switch (and nearly impossible to prove - and can be blamed on hackers or an EMP riding on a Chinese balloon) a situation which would induce a "state of emergency". Highly sus. A "backdoor state of emergency" could result in the confiscation of firearms which would take forever to unravel, given the glacial speed at which our court/justice system works, and the high costs of utilizing it. Firearms in circulation are estimated to be over 500 million in the U.S. They couldn't store them in any practical way so they would have to destroy them.
Thank you very much!!!❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉😮
Have a good week
