Article 450 Transformers and More

This #IAEINewsLive session will take a look at transformer applications through the eyes of Article 450 and more. We'll explore working space requirements and the protection requirements for transformers as well as the ancillary equipment such as primary and secondary conductors and the equipment being served by a transformer.

Thank you for another awesome video !! Article 450 covers transformers however, I am not sure if the same article applies to polyphase autotransformers as they come in variety of types/models?

Good presentation one question on transformers below 1000v if you should choose to use 250% over current protection primary 125% secondary would the primary feed wire have to follow.
For simplicity say the transformer has rated input current of 100A I use 250% so 250A fuse would I have to use wire capable of 250amps.

We usually only went 125% larger wire size then current or both the primary & secondary of plain Jane 480 to 120/208 volt transformers. I never went more then 175% over current protection. Preferred to always use a safety switch with quality 200 KIA dual element fuses .
