    1978: I was 10 y/o. Doesn't seem so long ago to me. Electricity hasn't changed much since then. You just had to use your slide rule or whatever. No internet to rely on so, yea, you probably really had to know what you were doing. But again I was only 10 y/o and learned the electric code(what I needed of it) by going to the library and reading books. Yep, I was reading electric code books(not that I understood them) at 10 y/o. Less than the instant gratification that we have today.

    GFPE: A situation that just doesn't make sense. Turn it off. And yea, if the GFPE is not taken care of on a local situation, the error accumulates and the master GFPE device opens. Experience from industrial heaters for me has shown that not taking care of ground faults locally creates a severe nightmare in diagnosis. Why? Everything goes out because of cumulative faults and you cannot zero in on a particular circuit. Things do add up especially in industrial heating applications.
