She seems to have psychic powers, perhaps she has some kind of a foresight/farsightedness? That would fit her dialogue in the trailer. Michael may give others powers, he may perhaps control people to do his bidding which may be alluded in the trailer and in Alphacore 1, something that was never truly clear in the book, but was theorized.
I’ll be honest-I didn’t enjoy Isom #1, but I expected improvement, and Isom #2 absolutely delivered. This sequel is leagues ahead in every way. Not only has the story improved, but the creator has elevated every aspect of his company: shipping prices, website functionality, artists, and even the release schedule. It’s clear he’s not playing any games-this man means business. What’s even more impressive is how much he’s grown as a person. I just wish more people in the community could let the past be the past and give him the respect he deserves. His success is significant for this space, and he’s proving that he’s here to stay.
@@Intruderalerrtin a similar spot. I did like Isom #1, but I can recognize that it wasn't a fantastic book. That said, I thought #2's introductory scene was better than the entire first book, and it stayed at almost that same level of quality for the whole read. I can only hope #3 takes it up another notch.
The creator referenced named Junji Ito is known for twisting very mundane situations into horrific (Obsession with Spirals for instance turning into someone lancing their inner ear after realizing it is a spiral for instance, causing them to feel like they are perpetually falling, spiraling). Body horror is about the fragility of the human body, twisting it, carving it, mutating it, causing a visceral reaction as it starts to deconstruct not only the physical, but the sense of self (Think The Fly for instance).
@@thethinkening I think it's a strength of the Rippaverse's approach, you and me seem to have very different books that get our attention. I was most hyped for Bloodruth but felt a little let down with Goodyng, so when ya said it was your top pick as the book people are sleeping on, I feel like I am reading a completely different book than you. Getting different genres and appealing to different audiences means you get vastly different interests. Come to me for all your horror needs ;)
@ hahaha thanks i appreciate that and yes to Eric julys credit he understands comic geeks have varying taste, and interest and he wants all the money 🤣
Honestly, I feel like this is a little too early to give these two villains their own books. I understand the hero and anti-hero characters getting their own books, but Micheal and Lillian's stories could just stay in the Rippazines. Hopefully the Rippaverse isn't biting off more than it can chew with some of these titles.
I actually agree, with some of these titles I was like, wait what? I was actually expecting to learn more about lilian and Micheal through being Alphacore villians. And even if they are origin story one-shots alright fine, but it feels very early for that. Other than that I'm looking forward to it. I hope they don't disregard the other Villians as one appearance only. I wanna see more of Billy Bob and Galvan too within Alphacore or who knows maybe down the line they become villians in someone else's title. But don't give them their own books, maybe a rippaverse shortstory.
@@shaw2sebastian I hope things work out too. If Eric had more editor experience under his belt, I would probably be more confident with all these titles releasing in the same year. Let's see if he can stick the landing with all these titles.
