Battman the Caped Crusader :Goodyng The Polymath
Bloodruth was the first book I didn't purchase as well. I don't enjoy horror, and I was honestly disappointed that Bloodruth went a horror direction instead of magic fantasy. Since she was introduced in Isom 2, I thought her stories would be appropriate for the same audience. With Horseman and Bloodruth being for adult audiences, I am hoping this doesn't become the trend for the Rippaverse.
Yeah I get it. Some people are just not into horror comics even though that's more my jam. I really wasn't going to buy Goodyng at first but decided to give it a shot and really enjoyed it. The trailer really sold me for Bloodruth #1 and that cover D (family photo) has me more intrigued about her family origins. I will buy Isom #3 just to complete the story arc but the character just never resonated with me and will not buy anymore after that.
Man i am excited for bloodruth. I honestly can't believe I'm looking forward to this book more so than Horseman. But still, I'm bery much looking forward to Horseman when i receive it this week because i believe i ordered on. Day 1
i'm so pumped for Horseman i'm going to take my time reading it i have a feeling this is going to be special
@thethinkening i really hope it's good. I've been wanting a character like this since the beginning of rippaverse. I'm glad we got one, now I'm hoping it's good.
@@RAM_H7i have not been disappointed yet
You are going to regret not buying BLOODRUTH #1. Someday it will be worth a lot of money. A few months ago, all of the previous Rippaverse comic books had been selling individually for $5 dollars a comic. Buy BLODDRUTH #1 now or pay a high price later once you realize that you in fact do want to read and own it.
Had to reread your comment please elaborate
@@thethinkening All of the previous Rippaverse comic books were being sold by Eric July a few months ago for $5 dollars a comic. If this trend continues, several months from now BLOODRUTH #1 will also be sold by Eric July for $5 dollars a comic. My point is that the Rippaverse comic books actually _don't_ go up in price; they go down in price several months after their first release. If other people review it positively, you will have plenty of time to buy BLOODRUTH #1 at a cheaper price.
@ i believe the five dollar event was a special sale i don’t imagine that will be always repeated. I’m sure there will be more sales but i don’t think that is indicative of the Rippaverse books dropping off in price.
i like your videos
@@zeroxe70 thank you for watching and engaging with the Channel
This seems like a good story arc so far 👍🏾. If only the new X-Men team books had this time of classic simple plots.
@@ronynninjastar2414 i think it’s a combination of things that has gone wrong with the new x-men books but this would definitely be a good start
There isn't a strong creative (story concept, visual design) foundation to the Rippaverse, he another dude with money who loves comics, but doesn't listen ie CrossGen, IDW, no hate from me, that publication will be over in less than years.
I wasn't too sure about this at first. But after thinking it over and giving it a closer look, I conclude I can get use to the beard 😅
Zalen looks cool too
Looks cool. Can't wait to see more art from this project.
Going Cosmic!!!
Minute 2: 13 "I think Chuck Dixon and Joe Bennett might be one of the best things that could have happened for the Rippaverse." -- You would think that _Eric_ _July_ would be the best thing that could have happened for the Rippaverse. I guess Eric July really isn't the next Stan Lee.
@@sonic31century1 Stan Lee wasn’t the greatest creator at marvel but he was one of the greatest leaders and figure heads. Eric July is new there is no way i could expect him out the gate to rival chuck dixxon that doesn’t make sense
@@thethinkening "Stan Lee wasn’t the greatest creator at marvel " -- Myself and I think most people would disagree with you on that. But I know you feel that you _have_ to make that statement to protect Eric July. " but he was one of the greatest leaders and figure heads." -- Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko would probably refute that statement. The greatest leaders at Marvel as far as securing work for the artists would have to be Roy Thomas and Jim Shooter. " Eric July is new there is no way i could expect him out the gate to rival chuck dixxon that doesn’t make sense" -- And next year you will still be using the Eric July-is-inexperienced- excuse to cover for him.
@@sonic31century1 i appreciate the engagement we will definitely have to agree to disagree. I mean it when i say i appreciate the engagement. It means a lot to me that you disagree and still watch the videos and engage 👊🏾🙏🏾
Minute 1: 54 "Superman" -- Rippaverse comic book characters always remind you of other companys' comic book characters. Even the slogan, "The Rippaverse Goes Cosmic" is meant to invoke the better days of Marvel Comics; the word, "Cosmic" is linked in many readers' minds as belonging to The Silver Surfer and Warlock.
Marvel and DC books remind me of each other this isn’t new IE Deadpool is inspired by deathstroke
@@thethinkening " Marvel and DC books remind me of each other this isn’t new" -- Never said it was a new phenomenon. Marvel was created in 1961 to take readers away from DC Comics. Those readers were supposed to read Fantastic Four and compare it favorably to The Justice League Of America comic. " IE Deadpool is inspired by deathstroke" -- At first Deadpool was meant to be Marvel's answer to Deathstroke. He has outgrown that. He is his own character. He is more popular than Deathstroke.
@@sonic31century1 the point of my argument was characters are inspired by other characters in comics this happens often
@@thethinkening I agree with you here but there is good inspiration and bad inspiration. In 1961 Stan Lee was told by his publisher to basically make a cheap copy of The Justice League Of America. Stan Lee's publisher had been told by the DC Comics publisher that that comic was selling really well. Fortunately Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were very talented people. They created The Fantastic Four which was inspired by The Justice League. Both comics featured super heroes that teamed up to fight crime. The Justice League heroes already existed in comic books before they teamed up to form the Justice League. The Fantastic Four was different than the team that inspired them; they had not existed previously to Fantastic Four #1 and they were a family. Have any of the Rippaverse comic book characters really gone beyond the characters they were inspired by? When you watched this trailer, you immediately thought of Superman.
@sonic31century1 Interesting....I've read that The Fantastic Four was inspired by DC's Challengers Of The Unknown which is a team of scientists and afventurers who partake in adventures on Earth, space, different planets and different dimensions. F4 wear identical outfits just like the Challengers. Only difference is that Reed & Co have super powers and are related. So not really that different. Actually, the Avengers was "The Answer" to the Justice League as the official team up of Marvel's solo greatest heroes. Stan Lee & Kirby were talented but not as creative and innovative as most people tend to think. Besides when we count the outstanding amount of mutual rip offs between DC and Marvel through decades and different eras, it does speak volume. Superman himself is blatantly inspired by Warlord Of Mars, Doc Savage, Gladiator (novel) and Hercules. Only thing new brought by Supe is the dual/secret identity which is still inspired by the likes of Zorro and the Phantom...and the tight costume and underwear over the pants (lol). Anyway, I just meant to say that holding the Rippaverse of taking inspiration is bad faith, especially comparing to what the Big 2 have previously done and are still doing. If you ask me while most of Rippaverse characters weren't strikingly innovative they still not felt as copycats or obvious rip offs to be seen as original. Rippaverse is still quite young and has no series who has reach issue #5 yet so I think we could be fair and give them more time to outgrow their inspiration. Finally, Marvel didn't created and doesn't own the word "cosmic" lol.
Eric July is to comics- writing what MacDonald's is to restaurants. They both produce items which are pleasant but they are never top quality. For Eric July, the items are comics and for MacDonald's, the items are food.
I disagree with this 100% I believe the items. Eric July puts out are definitely top quality comic books. Now that doesn’t mean they are the best comic books I’ve ever read in my life, but they are definitely top quality.
@@thethinkening " I disagree with this 100%" -- Okay. " I believe the items. Eric July puts out are definitely top quality comic books. " -- The paper quality is certainly better than the paper on Marvel and DC floppies. Even most of the reviewers of ISOM #1 could not help but talk about the paper; the stories, not so much. " Now that doesn’t mean they are the best comic books I’ve ever read in my life, but they are definitely top quality." -- The Rippaverse comics do not have to be the best comic books people have ever read. They must simply be good comics. Nice art. Interesting layouts. The artists actually draw the story instead of relying on 3D assets. Surprising word choices that tell the story. Interesting origin stories. The Rippaverse comics have none of this. The Rippaverse's success is based on hype. Hype from Eric July and his non-biased RUclips reviewers.
" Eric July and his non-biased RUclips reviewers." --I should have had quotation marks around the word, "non-biased." --Eric July and his "non-biased" RUclips reviewers.
@@sonic31century1 ok let me posit this to you and i ask you to hear me out im not asking you to agree but hear me out. I preordered Isom 1 now the immediate basis of that was to one support Eric because i respect his opinion on comics and 2 to see what he can do. The first book was a good first offering it was not with out flaw but it made me want to know more. Isom 2 drops i can tell he’s been taking pointers from chuck dixxon and mike baron. There were noticeable improvements in plot progression. At this point i say to myself ok this dude is on to something this feels big. Alphacore 1 drops and i am beyond satisfied the pacing art plot etc was all premium at this point i say to myself i really like where this is going. Yaira 1 which i wasn’t interested in at all comes in and its even better than alphacore im shocked at this point and excited the momentum is moving in the right direction with each release. Than salvage drops and i see more improvement from Eric than SAOIRSE i see he’s learning how to write coming into his own and taking it serious. Now i can go on these are my honest opinions and this is my honest excitement. There are things at marvel people love that i don’t like same at Dc but i get it something’s don’t resonate with everyone. My question to you is the fact that i like the rippaverse the issue for you or is it the rippaverse in general if its the later i understand your position 100% it just isn’t your thing it doesn’t check off the proper boxes for you to consider the work valid. If it’s the first am i allowed to like something you don’t. I want to state again that i appreciate the engagement and these are all honest questions.
@@sonic31century1 i never said i was non biased i honestly like the rippaverse and i see improvements with every release. This is my honest opinion is my opinion not allowed. Am i allowed to see this differently than you honest question

DUUUUUUDE while watching this video i had a revelation! It is way too perfect it has to happen. Bruce and Black Mask's origins will be tied in together and diametrically opposed opposites. They'll have both been at the zoo that day and where Bruce saw needed justice Black Mask saw the futility of it all with humans in relation to animals killing eachother all the same and just pretending they're more civilized because they wear fancy suits. Thatll be the inspiration behind the party animals, behind the senseless killing and focus on death, and why they all dress nice with animal masks on. At least, that's the direction I'd be taking it lol
@@TheKingOfRooks 🤯this is actually an insanely good theory that i did not even consider 👊🏾
@thethinkening haha thanks man it all clicked listening to you describe the party animals, it seems like such a good potential direction I lowkey hope it is that lol Hell now that I think about it even Alfred would tie in with that themology being a representation of exactly what Black Mask hates, a man in a suit senselessly killing and pretending like he's civilized. If Black Mask lost his family in the zoo attack too then that'd make it a further parallel with Alfred having also lost his family to violence though in a different way, having lost the connection and love of his daughter. Maybe Black Mask will have lost his son in the zoo attack as opposed to Bruce having lost his father, kinda go in to the different types of grief as well.

As much as Multiverse stuff can be annoying, ESPECIALLY with Batman, this was a good read. I hope the first story arc can keep the momentum. Can't wait for the next issue, but I wish the underrated DC heroes (Martain Manhunter, The Atom, Hawkman, etc.) got this type of writing.
I Think Batman being the most high profile and quintessential DC Character will typically always give him the best artist and writers as a spring board for all other Characters. Now with that said I can easily see the rest Of DC Including the characters you mentioned getting some love as well piggybacking off the success of this book
@@thethinkeningWe'll see because the only writer I'm seeing showing any type of attention to the underused DC characters is Mark Waid with his World's Finest comic. They're also being written PROPERLY.
Glad I got me a copy. I hope it doesn't lose momentum after the first story arc.
Is this ironic?

Robert's batman existing in the DC gunn concept is a terrible idea , this batman is way too realistic to exist along metahumans,
I feel like keeping Batman "realistic" just limits him far too much. The Batman is pretty realistic, but so was Iron Man, and that moved to giant purple people.
Those are big numbers for sure. And I'm sure the horseman will be selling even after the campaign just like their previous books. The fan base is going to grow.
@@rippaguy808 and grow indeed it is in-spite of the people who constantly throw shade and hatred towards the rippaverse disguised as legitamate critiscism
Alternatively, how would you fix ep1-3? For me I would have Anakin as a teen (also, change his name from Skywalker, thats so dumb) . And Obi Wan trains him, without experience. And basically have the first three movies about their relationship and adventures (as the main storyline). At the end of Ep2 bring in the dark side influencer and Ep3 is where he is fully seduced. Also dont use the "bring ppl back to life" reason for his switch, do something like the rebels have to destroy for what they see as the greater good which ends up killing his foster parents and the mother of his children (after she gave birth)/ Also no c3po or r2d2.
I didnt see the appeal at first. But the first joker is a good movie. Period
You missed out on the first Joker movie. The movie was more of an origin story with social commentary on mental illness. I'll wait til Joker 2 comes out streaming to see if it was bad or not.

@@DenzelBatista-i5v please do elaborate im definitely no expert
At least Hickman lets Peter have a happy, married life unlike Tom Breevort. The people working on the main universe Spider-Man comics need to understand that marriage/having a healthy family doesn't make a character boring or unrelatable to younger audiences. It shows maturity and responsibility if anything.

Caanan's art is absolutely phenomenal 🔥🔥🔥 this was such a good read
This is definitely the BEST thing Eric's written so far. Now I wanna see who's the third P.I. with the L.F. certification since Salvage said there was maybe three P.I.'s like him.

Honestly, this company should just let Image/Skybound have their remaining licensed IPs (My Little Pony, TMNT, Sonic, etc). At least they would know what to do with them. This company is on its way out the door anyways😂. I just read an article that said the company is down to only FIFTY employees. Yikes 😬.

Alphacore is considered to me the high water mark for The Rippaverse. So my expectations for The Horseman are pretty high. Love me the street ninjas, feels like a call back to older Daredevil comics against The Hand. That being said, if this in-medias-res is the start of the book, I feel like it hasn't delivered enough hooks that made me want to dive into Alphacore. Probably the biggest hook is realizing his design is different from the cover, giving me the thought of us seeing him in his evolution into what he's gonna eventually become. Alphacore felt like it introduced more in the same amount of pages, letting me want to know how these elements interlink. with Horseman, it feels a little more focused, but I am not sure if that's a good thing.
elaborate on the second half of your comment if you don't mind
@@thethinkening So in the first part of Alphacore, we're introduced to Solari, the FPPD, the law giving jurisdictional tension between Alphacore and the rest of FPPD, a bank robbery that wasn't, a mystery as to why the bomb went off, etc. There's a lot of elements at play that can bump into one another, a lot of 'what ifs' that keep me personally engaged. I felt like I could understand the situation not just in the immediate moment on page, but a little of what is to come. Horseman asks us who are these ninjas. We know they found Horseman, not the other way around by what is inferred by Horseman's internal monolog. That's about it. I hope that explains what I was talking about a little better.
