Very unfortunate. This may be a sign of things to come, eventually.
Thank you very much for sharing this with us Tony. Have a great day 😊

I used to hang out there when I was a kid as well. I also remember when it had carpet on the floors and a large food court and arcade area. My very first job was at a store called Millers Outpost. I haven't been there in years. Sign of the times.

Miller’s outpost oh yes, I remember those stores well. Yeah I remember the crazy carpet they had. It was almost something that would make you dizzy if you stared at it too long. Lol

When I was a teenager back in the late 70's, I remember when Bayfair had carpeted floor not the tile there is now! I didn't hang out there too much. I always preferred Southland more. Bayfair also used to have a skating rink at the foot of the parking lot facing Mission Blvd.

Love that mall. I used to play the arcades at the Cyberstation at Bay Fare mall.

Sad to see it closed. I was a mall rat in the 80s. I can't believe how fast so many malls are closing!!! Thank you for posting this great video. 😊

Back in my memories, I remember this name. Good ol San Leandro. My home town. My family moved to Missouri in '71. My oldest brother graduated from SL High! In '71 though 😂 I went to Roosevelt Elementary.

I went to Grover Cleveland Elementary, and then that closed and then I went to Woodrow Wilson, Elementary, and after that I went to Bancroft junior high and then I went to San Leandro high.

My childhood home is no longer. Just a vacant lot. It sat beside Jones rest home on Callen Ave, next to my Grandparents and an apartment building next to them. An Aunt and Uncle & cousins had a house on the property as well. On the corner still sets a park that I used to play in. My brothers and I used to play in the creek that runs behind the houses. Wouldn't dare now. It was probably a bit sketchy then. This was in the 60's. Fun times!

The mall up in Fairfield seems to be pretty healthy, which I guess is the unusual thing these days. Although I will say it's been a few years since I've been there, but it was still booming the last time I was there, especially around Christmas time.

Crime is ruining our malls too. Do you have Dillard’s in your area, I worked for them 23 years, left in 1998.
