    Ah yes, 2016, how young and innocent we were then, eh? Once again I have wondered how to play a beautiful song on guitar and I look and find that our friend Justin is showing the way. Thanks again, may you continue being a guiding light for new guitar players everywhere!

    Hay Justin you super star you!
    I have been trying to learn something since 40 years of age now at 58 I can do this and it's the second best feeling in the world.
    Guess what you are the solid foundation for this ability and those books of yours are brilliant.
    Thank you my friend

    Just want to say, there are a lot of tutorial guitar channels out there and over the years I've gravitated to Justins lessons. The right balance of "this is what you need to know" and then also some additional details to fine tune it to the original recording. Some specific technique tips when needed and in general a quite close to the original sound. Nice work as always. Thanks

    Awesome!! This is actually my all-time favourite song (and the first cassette - yup - I ever bought when it came out. I was 9). Been a huge U2 fan ever since). Also, this is my favourite music video of all time -- the Anton Corbjin video is beautiful.
    Thanks Justin -- gave me a great break from grading and working on my PhD. As always :) Your lessons mean more than picking up a hobby. It's kept my sanity and some sense of a normal life through graduate school. It's meant a lot. Not sure if most people take the time to say all of this while they make next lesson requests!

    I've often struggled with tricky strumming more than anything else. The muting chords and concentrating solely on the strumming is a great little tip I should have figured out long ago. :D

    Hey Justin. This was the first song I ever learned to play in full thanks to you, back in 2009 when I started teaching myself through RUclips videos. I'm still not a great guitarist, but I can strum through a few songs now. Great to see you have an updated version of your video, going to see about working in some of these embellishments.

      +Hong Kong Hermit I forgot I did it years ago in easy songs lessons or something if I remember right. sure this more accurate too!

    • @TheHongKongHermit
      @TheHongKongHermit 8 лет назад

      +JustinGuitar Songs Yeah, back when you uploaded a PDF of the tabs (which you had to stop doing due to lawyer worries). It was a great starter song as you recommended keeping the first finger in place moving from Am to Dsus2 so it was already in place for the Fsus4.
      Anyway, being able to play from memory a full song was a huge boost to my confidence and I can't thank you enough for that.

    Thanks JSG, this is going to be the first song I'm going to (try) and learn all the way through. Was going to try Springsteen's "Downbound Train". It's pretty simple but there's no lesson on line and I'm not at the stage where I can figured these things out for myself.
    Great break down of all the components, great song too. Just goes to show that a simple chord progression can convey so much emotion.
    Thanks again.
