What I like about this scene is how accommodating Sheldon was, to Bernadette. He truly did do his best to entertain her even though she had doubts, and she ended up having a good time.
Even though he mocks Howard, he accepts that’s he part of his inner circle. Bernadette is a natural extension of that. So he wants to make his best effort.
@@theonetruefusion8533 it might not matter much if you are in your early 20s, but if you are in your 30s or 40s the ID line can be taken as a great compliment.
This was super cute. This isn’t close to real DnD of course But Sheldon was actually considerate and accommodating to not force her to learn the rules and mechanics and just have Bernie make story/action choices, then he’d roll the dice and make DM decisions.
No joke: I’ve been a GM and Tabletop storyteller for 20+ years. When it aired, this storyline helped connect me with the ways TTRPGs can be a healing and positive dialogue with the real world. I’m now a full-time professional GM, and I keep this in mind when I create my stories and worlds. I’ll always be grateful to it!
This scene is also a good contrast to when Bernadette was cooking her Thai food for her friends and Sheldon brought his own. It was so disrespectful to Bernadette, so to watch him be more respectful and accommodate to her now, even if they don’t have much in common, was refreshing to see.
I was gonna say the same thing. He did great with the storytelling and his best to accommodate the player and her interests, not to mention the toast. 😅
Yes! Tabletop roleplaying games are at their core all collaborative story telling, where the only limit to the scenarios and interactions are the player's fantasy. All the rules and mechanics are there to lay the groundwork and add fun character creation, where the true limit again is the limit of a person's conceptualization ability. If the group chemistry is good and expectations properly set, roleplaying games are some of the most fun a group can have! If they aren't, playing becomes awful very quickly.
This was so sweet. Giving her an adventure so she could do all the things she couldn't do while pregnant. Sheldon could be such a good friend sometimes. ❤
The think with Sheldon is he can express himself in his own way, if you respect that fact and don't try to change him you can have a nice friendship with him.
I think that was intentional on Sheldons part to make sure Bernadette enjoyed herself he even tells her she's beautiful and could spend time with her anytime she wants and she agrees
D&D has tiny bags that can store a fleet of adult elephants and magic spells that can create a massive mansion and all-you-can-eat buffet ... and low-sodium soy sauce is what's got you scratching your head?
Genuinely , if DnD when I discovered was the GM rolling dice , I would've never gotten into it for some reason me throwing my own dice makes all the difference which is why I stopped playing DnD online , my GM wouldn't allow me to throw physical dice and tell him the values

You know, if you notice, not a single intellectually smart girl on this show (besides maybe Alice) was into that typical nerdy crap either……not just Penny. Bernadette liked to drink and hang out with her girlfriends, Amy liked quilting, playing the harp and Shakespeare, Leslie liked having sex with random dudes and playing the cello, Emily liked Chaucer and disturbing horror movies, and I'm not sure what hobbies Priya, Alex, Stephanie, or Anu had, but I'd bet money they weren't Star Wars/Trek, D&D, comic books, or any other stereotypically geeky stuff. Facts: MOST girls just aren't into that stuff. Doesn't matter how smart or dumb they are.
Some are. I just wouldn't say the correlation with intelligence is very high. I don't see really smart girls being into that. Also playing harp, quilting and being into Shakespeare is pretty much the female nerd realm.
@@EgoHead710 There's WAY more men who are into nerdy stuff than women. But I'm talking typical nerd stuff like you see on this show. Video games, sci-fi, action figures, comics, Magic the gathering, etc etc. Someone could make the argument that someone who is really into sports or classical music is a sports or music nerd, but that's not what I'm talking about.
There’s only highlights why I don’t understand why any of the guys went out with those girls… They have absolutely nothing in common, and just find all of their passions and interests, stupid and juvenile…
Having nothing in common is the makings of a great relationship, my wife and I have been together for 33 years, we have nothing in common, apart from mutual admiration and we still make each other laugh every day.

Sheldon can’t see the doubt tho😂
He always does his best to fulfill social obligations, he just has trouble understanding them.
Even though he mocks Howard, he accepts that’s he part of his inner circle. Bernadette is a natural extension of that. So he wants to make his best effort.
Designing a DND quest specifically for your friend is the best love language
And Sheldon’s story for Bernadette is good lol if it was a movie I’d watch it
Bernadette & Sheldon are a very underrated duo in this series. The jokes and banters between these two were always hilarious!
“You have reduced me to a pile of sushi….ahhhhh!” That was great!
The fact that he mentioned that the barkeeps wants to see her ID *REALLY* does show that Sheldon know how we women thinks! XD
As a guy, can you explain the reasoning of why the ID line is so important?
@@QuintonT wanting to see the id means that the woman doesn't look above 18, that means the woman looks young. Women like looking young

Not always a fan of Big bang theory but the *rolls dice* "He wants to see ID!" joke was funny
Being asked for ID would make any woman feel better. Sheldon was really sweet to Bernadette!
❤
Not a fan yet here you are
Bernie and Sheldon are rarely together pity they make a cute pair
True. And when they stood next to each other the difference in height was hilarious.

So sweet.... this was a fun episode ....Amy hung out with Stuart , and Penny hung out with Raj
Lol who hung out with Leonard? Never saw this one

That didnt happen in this episode…
This episode hits hard for me because they're both my favorite characters on the show.
“It’s low sodium, ahhhh…” best dying words
Lol
Being a GM/DM is like being a lawyer...you gotta know every rule. When you do, you can make so many adventures and answer even more questions.
Totally cute and funny! Nice job Sheldon! 😆🤣😂
Sheldon is a DM I honestly might enjoy playing with, and that shock me.

Sheldon and Bernadette are really a great pair, even if they don't seem like they'd fit. It's nice.
Honestly, this is probably the sweetest thing Sheldon ever did.
Underrated duo.
Ive seen this episode many times and i just noticed she has a piece of toast in her hand! 😅😅😅
He wants to see ID 😂
I don't know how DnD works. Did he have to come up with all of that stuff he was reading because so this game sounds real neat and extremely creative.
Yes, he was the Dungeon Master and designed the quest.

0:02 Easiest way to make *_Star Wars_* toast: have it be light on one side and dark on the other, representing both sides of the Force.
Clever!
That's a result, not a way.
Dungeons and Dragons plus a goodie bag full of toast? isn't quite a deal?

It was a custom D&D world Sheldon specifically made for Bernadette.
I mean, I don’t believe ID and underage drinkers in D&D is also a thing.
