As a kid - over 35 years ago now I used to go down to the airfield and I used to help a couple of pilots to wash their planes and I occasionally were able to fly as a reward I loved it! I loved the tour over Minny waters - The Sandon river - brooms head - Yamba and back to South Grafton. I was born and raised in Grafton and I lived in south Grafton behind the south Grafton public school and I remember watching aircraft flying around that area I also started to learn how to fly gliders when the airfield was out in waterview heights.
I now live in Orange NSW and we try to go up to Grafton around Christmas when we can. Thank you for sharing that flight!

Thank you for taking time to comment. The lady with me (Shirley), she spent most of her younger years living in Grafton also. It is a very pretty area and only getting to know it like this due to my friendship with Peter who owns these aircraft. I spent a lot of time at Phillip Island at Christmas a teen, and I used to help with their aircraft and maintaining their dirt runway. And occasionally I got free flights as reward. So I know the feeling of what you describe all to well. Thanks again for sharing.
