      I think if you are bringing out a game every 15 years I think it's ok to charge a tiny bit more for like the special edition or so. With COD it's bad because they are pumping those games out like there is no tomorrow and you'd have to spend $60 every time. Though, for the casual gamer GTA6 should still be $60. Not everyone is as into GTA as we are.

    • @bulgarianreaper6587

      I can see the 150$ price tag for a special edition or something.
      It does seem unlikely for the base game to cost 150$. I can honestly see them charging 80$ or 90$ for the base game tho

      I think one topic you can focus on for a show is Jason. As an example an episode can explore who is he? Will he be more important or more of a central character than Lucia? Or will he be more of a sidekick that plays an ancillary role? There’s a lot of mystery surrounding him. Based on the artwork of the characters of the game I believe he will be more important than we think..

    It would be interesting if you analyze how the physics and gore will possible work on GTA VI, in comparison with the older games and under the scope of nowadays game trends, in a sense that physics have been dial down over the years in favor of an "easier experience for the user", and gore in return of an larger market of consumers. Great show btw, keep up the good work guys

    It's kind of sad the way the senior staff at Rockstar have seemingly gone in different directions in quite an acrimonious manner. They achieved so much together over such a long time and obviously worked very well together. Some years ago I worked in a public facing role at Heathrow airport and was once lucky enough to meet Dan Houser. It was just before the release of the first Red Dead. We had a very brief chat about GTA and the upcoming Red Dead and he seemed like a really decent guy. Seemed genuinely appreciative of the time people spent playing his games. I wonder how much different GTA 6 will feel without his input, and wonder if it's taking such a long time because Rockstar went back to the drawing board after he and Les Benzies left and started again from the ground up on a whole new game without any trace of them...?

    • @thedriver99
      @thedriver99 6 месяцев назад

      He had a little to say 80% of the game as lazlow even benzies

    • @agentsmith6161
      @agentsmith6161 6 месяцев назад

      Dan's and The Benz departures might improve GTA in the long run. Because of competition. Absurd Ventures with time could compete with Rockstar. The talent is there. I think GTA VI will still have the same GTA feel because the Benz, Dan and Sam already set the tone and themes long, long time ago. Time will tell if I'm right or not.

    I don't agree with games being chronically undervalued. I think we should fight back on that as a growing opinion in the industry.
    If you are talking about indie games, yeah often they are undervalued and is a massive issue but AAA games are not by any means and take-two are one of the worst for this. I see this as a path to pricing people out of getting involved with the industry, I dont see how we benefit from that - good games make massive profit as it stands so increasing the price of games does nothing besides increasing the profit of these companies and reducing the amount of people that are able to enjoy them.
    Whats worse is that, when price increases happen, it doesn't get re-invested in any meaningful way that helps the industry - Since games went to $70 have we seen a healthier industry or a weaker industry?... We keep going down that path it will only be further weakened i feel.
    On the note of live service games, it's not really one payment though like you said, those games are usually littered with microtransactions. Your analogy is Disneyland and paying for one ticket to access all the rides for free but its more like, one ticket gets you access to the park then throughout the park at every opportunity they are looking to dip into your wallet.

    I wince whenever you guys mention intertwining singleplayer with online. If that ends up happening. GTA, Rockstar and the entirety of gaming will be dead to me.
    I want my singleplayer experience to remain a singleplayer experience. I don’t wanna have to worry about griefers.
    And even if it’s one of those pseudo online single player experiences, I’d still hate it cause that would mean no multiple save files (cause everything would remain persistent) no cheat codes, no manual saves and generally no feeling like you’re “safe” within a singleplayer world do do whatever you please.
    This is one idea that I hope to all the gods and deities out there that you guys are completely wrong about.

  • @Ralfvour

    I agree with Dan's point. Taking Red Dead 2 as an example, the amount of hours, entertainment, and joy spent playing that game (To this day!) was easily worth more than what I originally paid. That being said I personally would be happy paying more for GTA 6 if it comes with the same level of care and detail Red Dead had.

    Varying degrees of difficulty for stealing cars makes a lot of sense as a feature, I’m replaying San Andreas and just the absence of a car theft animation made me realize how much it adds to the game. Making stealing cars a mini game or requiring an item for expensive cars is a great way to add value to high end cars.

    Take Two know that the casual gamer won't spend $150 for a standard copy. Strauss has said numerous times about price increases. They will sell units based on the market average.
    They will want to incentive die-hard fans to upgrade to collector and limited editions and up charge those, as they know people who will buy that are likely buying it for the prestige.
    They'll keep it bundled no matter. They are interested about people buying multiple copies per platform (I.e. XSX/PS5 to PC/Gen 10 consoles)

    The carjacking speculation is an interesting one. I personally hope that they do change something about the mechanic, but you have to imagine R* have to strike the right balance of enjoyment and realism. Maybe you have to purchase lockpicks to do carjack quietly and if you don't have some, you have to do it the old fashioned way. I do feel a mini game would get tedious

    Nobody wants to pay an unreasonable sum, whether for the base game or for a combination of story-mode and online, with or without perks, but a massive section of GTA's fan-base aren't kids any more... they're not even in their twenties since we've waited more than a decade since GTA 5 dropped. A great many are now working adults with some disposable cash for the base game, but might have limited play-time for the online component. It will be interesting to see how Rockstar and Take-Two balance customer-service with corporate greed.

    currently $70 is the standard price for a new AAA experience on the PS5 and Xbox series. Whilst yes many would overlook the price increase for GTA 6 there would be understandable backlash because every other AAA game moving forward would raise their prices to match GTA and would be able to use the excuse that it was take 2 and Rockstar that reset the market and first. Other than just having all the backlash fall on take 2 and Rockstar other developers keeping current pricing after a increase for GTA 6 would be those other developers admitting that Rockstar has a more premium product than they do and we all know that isn't happening.

    You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have a playable online character with a frickin voice attached to his face!! Now evidently Rockstar tells me that that can’t be done. A clue to remind me what we pay these people for honestly throw me a bone here!!

  • @kemoselimagic1479
    @kemoselimagic1479 6 месяцев назад

    Personally, because I’m a fan, I would pay $70 for the single player and another $50 or more for the online portion. However, I think to appeal to most people they should charge $70 for the single player and have online included knowing full well they will make millions of dollars on shark cards alone. Also, I would definitely want them to release single player first and then online a few weeks later.

You always seem to be leaning into being positive about online and its influence on the single player game, whereas it's closer to a tumor, a very profitable tumor, but a tumor none the less lol

    Ya they’ll probably just have a stand edition for regular price and special edition for $10-$20 more. I’m not sure how I feel about a new carjacking system. Taking a full minute to break into every car sounds like it would get annoying quick. Especially if you had to do the same lockpicking or slim Jim technique or whatever, over and over and over again.

    I always had a theory that when augmented reality comes to be that they’d use the physics and AI from the GTA series to build it. Rockstar has the best AI Mechanics by far. So good the AI was used to program the google street car to predict traffic. I think the games Dan and Leslie are making are more about their experience making this highly advanced AI. $2 billion for a game budget is highly suspicious.

    For higher price, demands higher quality.
    While GTAVI wont be high graphics, it needs to be worth it.
    It wont be worth a higher price.
    GTAVI online should be free, and they should have Higher Quality exoansions they can charge for a price.
    People are too accustomed with paying excessive ammounts for a a base.
    The game should be one price, you get everything, no one is different.
    It may cost abit than anything else. But itll be worth it for all.
